TLDR or tldr may refer to:
Copyright Act (with its variations) is a stock short title used for legislation in Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States relating to the copyright. The Bill for an Act with this short title will usually have been known as a Copyright Bill during its passage through Parliament.
The Copyright Act of 1976 is a United States copyright law and remains the primary basis of copyright law in the United States, as amended by several later enacted copyright provisions. The Act spells out the basic rights of copyright holders, codified the doctrine of "fair use," and for most new copyrights adopted a unitary term based on the date of the author's death rather than the prior scheme of fixed initial and renewal terms. It became Public Law number 94-553 on October 19, 1976 and went into effect on January 1, 1978.
Before the 1976 Act, the last major revision to statutory copyright law in the United States occurred in 1909. In deliberating the Act, Congress noted that extensive technological advances had occurred since the adoption of the 1909 Act. Television, motion pictures, sound recordings, and radio were cited as examples. The Act was designed in part to address intellectual property questions raised by these new forms of communication. (see House report number 94-1476)
TL;DR, short for "too long; didn't read", is an expression used in Internet culture to say that some text being replied to has been ignored or as a signifier for a summary of an online post or news article. It originates in Internet slang, where it is often used in quoted responses to indicate parts of the text skipped as too lengthy.
The abbreviation is based on the principle that, if the writer does not invest the time to convey their message concisely, the reader is justified not investing the time to read it. Alternately, it might mean that there is insufficient material of value or interest to justify the time required to read it.
The phrase dates back to at least 2003, and was added to the Oxford Dictionaries Online in 2013.
On reddit, tldr is the subreddit serving as the site's daily recap. Long posts on reddit are also frequently followed or preceded by a summary, consisting of a sentence or brief paragraph, that is prefixed by the phrase "TL;DR", and the abbreviation is sometimes used as a noun denoting such a summary, as in "Please include a TL;DR along with your post".

EDIT: There is a minor editing error at 37:24 "only 40% of the children who took it survived", the actual sample should say "only 40% of the children who had mothers who took it survived". That is a most unfortunate error that totally changes the meaning of the sentence and was over looked when rendered because it still formed a complete grammatically sensible sentence. The first steps of some phase II research into allowing men have some sort of control over reproduction and it's already being called sexist. What a surprise. The abuse of children is a terrible thing. We don't need to mislead people with questionable statistics to make it seem worse than it is, nor to try to blame any particular group for political means. What we do need are better data gathering tools and better, more refined, definitions of abuse that include both genders equally to stop children falling between the cracks so we can wipe out child abuse for good. More information than you ever wanted about genital cutting! Cutting someone else's genitals without consent is not a good idea outside of reasons of valid medical intervention. It is not a women's issue, it is not a men's issue, it is a people issue and must be approached as such. Stop gendering ungendered problems and stop spreading misinformation and relying on knee jerk emotional propaganda to manipulate people into ignoring the real issue. At this rate I will never have to buy another salt lick again.
Same shit different day. InB4 organized false flagging attempt. Some words have positive meanings, some negative, we need this to differentiate things that are positive from things that are negative. Pretty simple. Unless we want to start calling things "ungood" just to spare women having words that are negative associated with them when they just so happen to be anything less than perfect. This is not a gendered issue. If you wish to discuss removing gendered references from the dictionary to make it more strict and formal, that could be an interesting thing to consider but kindly cease making ungendered issues into gendered ones. Adult acting like babies/children are a symptom of a much deeper social problem. While sexual and fetish aspects to people's lives aren't inherently a problem. Looking at their causes and the frequencies with which they manifest in wider society can be very illuminating on social trends. This is but the latest in the downward spiral of society that the regressive leftist will not stop to think about, instead preferring the "You must accept this and never speak out against it or you're a bigot!" line of thinking. EDIT: To the "hurrdurr as long as they're not hurting anyone so it's fine" people. I say to you: Let's all quit our jobs and take heroin all day. We won't be hurting anyone else, so it's fine. His heart was broken, mine was mended
He became sin, now I am clean.
The cross he carried bore my burden.
The nails that held him set me free.
Chorus:
His life for mine, his life for mine
How could it ever be?
That he would die, God's son would die
To save a wretch like me
What love divine, he gave his life for mine.
His scars of suffering brought me healing
He spilled his blood to fill my soul.
His crown of thorns made me royalty
His sorrow gave me joy untold
Chorus:
His life for mine, his life for mine
How could it ever be?
That he would die, God's son would die
To save a wretch like me
What love divine, he gave his life for mine.
Bridge:
He was despised and rejected, stripped of his garments and oppressed
I am loved and accepted and I wear a robe of righteousness
Chorus:
His life for mine, his life for mine
How could it ever be?
That he would die, God's son would die
To save a wretch like me
