Tai-Pan is an action, adventure and strategy game by Ocean Software. It was released in 1987 for Amstrad CPC.
Make your fortune in China, in this adaptation of James Clavell's book. The year is 1841... The traders of Europe are sailing the waters of east in search of their fortunes. The waters of the China seas were hostile, with both weather and pirates taking their toll of the traders ship and profits. Then, the trade in contraband grew so much that the independent traders began to amass great fortunes and fleets of ships, and the leader formed their own trading companies and began to monopolise the trade. The chinese named these men Tai-Pan (Supreme Leaders), and the greatest of these was THE TAI-PAN.
You enter the game penniless, no money, no ships, no assets. Your ambition is to become THE TAI-PAN. You begin in the town of Guangzhou and must try to find someone to lend you enough money to buy and equip a ship, and still leave you enough to get a crew and buy goods to trade. The money lent to you must be repaid within six months, or your benefactor will lose face and you will lose your head!
You can get a crew either by paying them or simply kidnapping them. But remember, paid crew is liable to be more loyal to you than a forced crew.
You might be approached by smugglers within the towns, or you could discover a smugglers den. They might try to sell you contraband, this is very dangerous to trade in but very profitable. If the police catch you with contraband you will be imprisoned and your goods forefitted. The smugglers price is fixed for buying and selling when in town, but marked changes will vary the price at each port visited.
Once you have your supplies and goods you must set sail. When on board, you will be able to choose your course, assuming you have bought the equipment and maps, to travel to the myriad of ports available to you to trade. When choosing your shipping routes, you should take note of the time of year (the weather) and the safety of certain routes. The less safe the route the more chance of being attacked.
The game has three main stages, and a number of different gameplay elements, largely allowing you choose your own path. Initially you walk the streets trying to get the right elements and people, then you head out onto the waters to head to other trading cities. Upon approaching other ships you can board them and do battle with their inhabitants.

Puede ser que se te acerquen contrabandistas en la calle o que des con un tugurio de contrabandistas. En ambos casos intentarán venderte contrabando, lo cual es muy peligroso, pero se puede ganar mucho dinero. Si la policía te coge con el material, te lo quitarán y te encarcelarán. El precio de compra y venta está fijado en tu pueblo de origen, pero variará de puerto en puerto.
Una vez que hayas comprado tus provisiones y mercancias debes salir al mar. Una vez a bordo, podrás elegir tu rumbo, siempre que hayas comprado el equipo y los mapas necesarios para viajar a los diferentes puertos disponibles para comerciar.

Para Daniel Wizenberg, periodista argentino de Revista Late y que visitó territorio norcoreano, (Ultimas Noticias) el cambio principal "respecto a la situación que se venía manejando en las últimas décadas, donde siempre hubo tensión, es la aparición de Donald Trump". Este experto apuntó que a este "juego que siempre tuvo un condimento retórico muy grande", se le sumó "un jugador de la retórica, la amenaza y la provocación" como es el presidente estadounidense.
Asimismo, analizó que "poner la tensión en conflictos externos" es para Trump "una buena manera de evitar discusiones internas que lo ponen mucho más incómodo, considerando que su popularidad no viene muy bien".
Y remarcó que si bien es cierto que EE.UU. movilizó un portaaviones, "ya tiene varias decenas de bases militares en Corea del Sur desde los tiempos de la guerra de Corea (1950-1953)". Es decir, que Washington "ya tiene presencia militar en la zona" y el hecho de que la refuerce "tiene que ver con alimentar más la hipótesis de la guerra y, sobre todo, de intimidar a una Corea del Norte que es pobre, pero tiene armas".
¿Quién se perjudica?
Ante la consulta de a quienes afecta esta situación, Wizenberg no dudó en afirmar que "a Corea del Sur no le conviene el régimen de Kim Jong-un, pero mucho menos una guerra". Es que "si hay alguien que sale perdiendo, que sale dañado" frente a un hipotético ataque de Corea del Norte "es Seúl", debido a que "son vecinos y enemigos íntimos".
Por eso resaltó que "cualquier movimiento en el equilibrio y 'statu quo' de la región perjudica a Corea del Sur". Esto se debe a que "el desarrollo del sur y el no desarrollo del norte, siempre fueron tan opuestos como complementarios". De hecho, el propio Wizenberg explicó en 2016 que Seúl "tiene un PBI 46 veces más grande" que Pionyang y que "una caída del régimen generaría un ejército de reserva y de refugiados que distorsionaría el mercado".
De todas formas, hizo hincapié en que "los afectados históricamente" son los norcoreanos, debido a que "han perdido calidad de vida y han quedado en el medio, muchas veces sin saberlo, de un juego geopolítico donde los grandes actores siempre salen ganando".
¿Habrá guerra?
La pregunta que ronda esto días es si, efectivamente, se desatará o no una guerra en la península. Wizenberg plantea dudas al respecto. En primer lugar porque, como mencionó, no favorece a un aliado clave de EE.UU. como es Corea del Sur. Pero además, un conflicto bélico "sería desastroso principalmente para Corea del Norte porque la diferencia de fuerzas es impresionante": si bien "puede dañar a Corea del Sur, a Japón o incluso Hawái, sin duda saldrían perdiendo".
Por su parte, China "evaluaría muy seriamente que hacer antes de involucrarse en un conflicto bélico con EE.UU". El Gobierno chino "está muy cómodo en una situación de paz, mucho más que en una situación de guerra". Según el especialista, Pekín "va a mantener ese papel dual de apoyar a Corea del Norte para no tener frontera con Corea del Sur y, al mismo tiempo, condenar a Pionyang en la ONU". Así, puede seguir siendo "el mediador entre los norcoreanos y Occidente".
Finalmente, analizó que "el papel que pueda jugar Rusia" en este conflicto "está mediado ya con otros factores como Siria, Crimea y una geopolítica a gran escala" que excede la problemática puntual coreana.
El régimen norcoreano por dentro
En 2016, Daniel Wizenberg visitó Pionyang. Si bien en los últimos años se ha abierto la posibilidad de viajar a Corea del Norte, siguen siendo pocos los occidentales que han podido conocer el país. Consultado sobre la realidad norcoreana, subrayó que se trata de "un régimen totalitario" y, a pesar de que indicó que "hay miseria", recordó que "también" existe "en los países capitalistas".
Para el periodista, se trata de un país "que ha quedado muy relegado y que se ha podido sostener" gracias a "un régimen completamente cerrado en materia de información" y, en gran medida, "de bienes y servicios". "Se abastece más por el contrabando y la economía informal que por la formal", que muestra "un país similar a Honduras o Mozambique", mientras que la primera "muestra otro país".
Así y todo "es un país chico, pobre, en el que hay clases sociales regidas por el culto a la personalidad", aunque aclaró que "no son las clases que hay en los países capitalistas" porque "se distribuyen mejor los recursos, pero son escasos".
Finalmente, analizó que Corea del Norte "no ha podido pasar la barrera de la guerra fría y la locura de sus líderes es lo que lo ha sostenido". Al "constituirse como una amenaza", ha evitado la invasión o ataque de EE.UU., algo "que ha sucedido en otros estados, por ejemplo de Medio Oriente". Wizenberg opinó que Kim Jong-un "sabe que no tiene nada que perder" y, en caso de que lo estén por destituir, "va a salir con los pies para adelante", lo que lo conviere en "mucho más peligroso que Saddam Hussein, que ni siquiera tenía armas químicas.

Contrabando
The Contrabando is a ghost town within the Big Bend Ranch State Park, 9.5 miles (15.3 km) west of Lajitas, Texas on the Texas State Highway 170.
The Contrabando consists of an original adobe building called 'La Casita' and several later additions that became part of the Contrabando during its use as a movie set. The movie set was constructed in 1985 for the Roy Clark film Uphill all the Way. The site has been used as a set for nine movies including John Sayles' 1996 movie Lone Star; as well as Dead Man’s Walk and Streets of Laredo, which were part of the Lonesome Dove miniseries based upon the novel by Larry McMurtry.
In September 2008, heavy rains and flooding occurred in Ojinaga, Mexico. The rain, and the ensuing release of water from local flood control structures caused widespread flooding, and resulting in damage to the movie set buildings at the Contrabando. The original Casita was not damaged.

Los Tigres del Norte
Los Tigres del Norte (English: The Tigers of the North) is a norteño-band ensemble based out of San Jose, California with origins in Rosa Morada, a sindicatura in Mocorito, Sinaloa, Mexico.
History
The group was started by Jorge Hernández, his brothers, and his cousins. They then began recording after moving to San Jose, California in the late 1960s, when all the members were still in their teens. They were sponsored by a local record company, Discos Fama, owned by an Englishman named Art Walker, who took them under his wing and helped them find jobs and material, as well as recording all of their early albums.
The Tigres were at first only locally popular, but took off after Jorge and Art Walker heard a Los Angeles mariachi singer perform a song in the early 1971 about a couple of drug runners, Emilio Varela and Camelia la Texana. There had been occasional ballads (corridos, in Mexican terminology) about the cross-border drug trade ever since Prohibition in the 1920s, but never a song as cinematic as this, featuring a woman smuggler who shoots the man and takes off with the money. After getting permission to record this song, Los Tigres del Norte released "Contrabando y traición" ("Contraband and Betrayal") in 1974. The song quickly hit on both sides of the border, inspired a series of movies, and kicked off one of the most remarkable careers in Spanish-language music.

"The Weight" is a song originally by the Canadian-American group The Band that was released as Capitol Records single 2269 in 1968 and on the group's debut album Music from Big Pink. The Weight of Chains
The Weight of Chains is a 2010 Canadian documentary film directed by Boris Malagurski. The film argues that the breakup of Yugoslavia was "orchestrated by Western powers in furtherance of imperial ambitions", according to the filmmaker, it also presents stories of "good people in evil times". It was released on December 17, 2010. Since 2012, the film has been distributed by Journeyman Pictures. The sequel, The Weight of Chains 2, was released on November 20, 2014.
Production
The film was sponsored by Serbian diaspora community organizations, the Centre for Research on Globalization, and private individuals amongst others.
The film uses re-compiled archival footage extensively, which was provided at no cost by Radio Television Serbia.
Synopsis
The film provides a background history of Yugoslavia, from the medieval Battle of Kosovo to the 1912 incorporation of Kosovo into the Kingdom of Serbia and then to the formation of Josip Broz Tito's Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia after World War II. It discusses the persecution of Kosovo Serbs after World War II, as well as alleged plans by Nationalists to create an ethnically pure Greater Albania.

Para Daniel Wizenberg, periodista argentino de Revista Late y que visitó territorio norcoreano, (Ultimas Noticias) el cambio principal "respecto a la situación que se venía manejando en las últimas décadas, donde siempre hubo tensión, es la aparición de Donald Trump". Este experto apuntó que a este "juego que siempre tuvo un condimento retórico muy grande", se le sumó "un jugador de la retórica, la amenaza y la provocación" como es el presidente estadounidense. Asimismo, analizó que "poner la tensión en conflictos externos" es para Trump "una buena manera de evitar discusiones internas que lo ponen mucho más incómodo, considerando que su popularidad no viene muy bien". Y remarcó que si bien es cierto que EE.UU. movilizó un portaaviones, "ya tiene varias decenas de bases militares en Corea del Sur desde los tiempos de la guerra de Corea (1950-1953)". Es decir, que Washington "ya tiene presencia militar en la zona" y el hecho de que la refuerce "tiene que ver con alimentar más la hipótesis de la guerra y, sobre todo, de intimidar a una Corea del Norte que es pobre, pero tiene armas". ¿Quién se perjudica? Ante la consulta de a quienes afecta esta situación, Wizenberg no dudó en afirmar que "a Corea del Sur no le conviene el régimen de Kim Jong-un, pero mucho menos una guerra". Es que "si hay alguien que sale perdiendo, que sale dañado" frente a un hipotético ataque de Corea del Norte "es Seúl", debido a que "son vecinos y enemigos íntimos". Por eso resaltó que "cualquier movimiento en el equilibrio y 'statu quo' de la región perjudica a Corea del Sur". Esto se debe a que "el desarrollo del sur y el no desarrollo del norte, siempre fueron tan opuestos como complementarios". De hecho, el propio Wizenberg explicó en 2016 que Seúl "tiene un PBI 46 veces más grande" que Pionyang y que "una caída del régimen generaría un ejército de reserva y de refugiados que distorsionaría el mercado". De todas formas, hizo hincapié en que "los afectados históricamente" son los norcoreanos, debido a que "han perdido calidad de vida y han quedado en el medio, muchas veces sin saberlo, de un juego geopolítico donde los grandes actores siempre salen ganando". ¿Habrá guerra? La pregunta que ronda esto días es si, efectivamente, se desatará o no una guerra en la península. Wizenberg plantea dudas al respecto. En primer lugar porque, como mencionó, no favorece a un aliado clave de EE.UU. como es Corea del Sur. Pero además, un conflicto bélico "sería desastroso principalmente para Corea del Norte porque la diferencia de fuerzas es impresionante": si bien "puede dañar a Corea del Sur, a Japón o incluso Hawái, sin duda saldrían perdiendo". Por su parte, China "evaluaría muy seriamente que hacer antes de involucrarse en un conflicto bélico con EE.UU". El Gobierno chino "está muy cómodo en una situación de paz, mucho más que en una situación de guerra". Según el especialista, Pekín "va a mantener ese papel dual de apoyar a Corea del Norte para no tener frontera con Corea del Sur y, al mismo tiempo, condenar a Pionyang en la ONU". Así, puede seguir siendo "el mediador entre los norcoreanos y Occidente". Finalmente, analizó que "el papel que pueda jugar Rusia" en este conflicto "está mediado ya con otros factores como Siria, Crimea y una geopolítica a gran escala" que excede la problemática puntual coreana. El régimen norcoreano por dentro En 2016, Daniel Wizenberg visitó Pionyang. Si bien en los últimos años se ha abierto la posibilidad de viajar a Corea del Norte, siguen siendo pocos los occidentales que han podido conocer el país. Consultado sobre la realidad norcoreana, subrayó que se trata de "un régimen totalitario" y, a pesar de que indicó que "hay miseria", recordó que "también" existe "en los países capitalistas". Para el periodista, se trata de un país "que ha quedado muy relegado y que se ha podido sostener" gracias a "un régimen completamente cerrado en materia de información" y, en gran medida, "de bienes y servicios". "Se abastece más por el contrabando y la economía informal que por la formal", que muestra "un país similar a Honduras o Mozambique", mientras que la primera "muestra otro país". Así y todo "es un país chico, pobre, en el que hay clases sociales regidas por el culto a la personalidad", aunque aclaró que "no son las clases que hay en los países capitalistas" porque "se distribuyen mejor los recursos, pero son escasos". Finalmente, analizó que Corea del Norte "no ha podido pasar la barrera de la guerra fría y la locura de sus líderes es lo que lo ha sostenido". Al "constituirse como una amenaza", ha evitado la invasión o ataque de EE.UU., algo "que ha sucedido en otros estados, por ejemplo de Medio Oriente". Wizenberg opinó que Kim Jong-un "sabe que no tiene nada que perder" y, en caso de que lo estén por destituir, "va a salir con los pies para adelante", lo que lo conviere en "mucho más peligroso que Saddam Hussein, que ni siquiera tenía armas químicas. -

Make your fortune in China, in this adaptation of James Clavell's book. The year is 1841... The traders of Europe are sailing the waters of east in search of their fortunes. The waters of the China seas were hostile, with both weather and pirates taking their toll of the traders ship and profits. Then, the trade in contraband grew so much that the independent traders began to amass great fortunes and fleets of ships, and the leader formed their own trading companies and began to monopolise the trade. The chinese named these men Tai-Pan (Supreme Leaders), and the greatest of these was THE TAI-PAN.
You enter the game penniless, no money, no ships, no assets. Your ambition is to become THE TAI-PAN. You begin in the town of Guangzhou and must try to find someone to lend you enough money to buy and equip a ship, and still leave you enough to get a crew and buy goods to trade. The money lent to you must be repaid within six months, or your benefactor will lose face and you will lose your head!
You can get a crew either by paying them or simply kidnapping them. But remember, paid crew is liable to be more loyal to you than a forced crew.
You might be approached by smugglers within the towns, or you could discover a smugglers den. They might try to sell you contraband, this is very dangerous to trade in but very profitable. If the police catch you with contraband you will be imprisoned and your goods forefitted. The smugglers price is fixed for buying and selling when in town, but marked changes will vary the price at each port visited.
Once you have your supplies and goods you must set sail. When on board, you will be able to choose your course, assuming you have bought the equipment and maps, to travel to the myriad of ports available to you to trade. When choosing your shipping routes, you should take note of the time of year (the weather) and the safety of certain routes. The less safe the route the more chance of being attacked.
The game has three main stages, and a number of different gameplay elements, largely allowing you choose your own path. Initially you walk the streets trying to get the right elements and people, then you head out onto the waters to head to other trading cities. Upon approaching other ships you can board them and do battle with their inhabitants.

Entonces, creció tanto el contrabando que los mercaderes independientes hicieron grandes fortunas y compraron grandes flotas de barcos, y su cabecilla creaba su propia compañía y empezaba a monopolizar el comercio. Entre los chinos se les conocía como Tai-Pan (Líderes Supremos), y el más grande de ellos era EL TAI PAN.
Comienzas el juego sin nada de nada, sin dinero, ni barco, ni recurso alguno. Tu ambición es convertirte en EL TAI PAN. Empiezas en Cantón y debes encontrar a alguien que te preste dinero para comprar y equipar un barco, y que te sobre para conseguir una tripulación y comprar mercancía con la que hacer negocios. Deberás devolver el dinero en seis meses, o el prestamista perderá las formas ¡y tu perderas la cabeza!
Puedes conseguir una tripulación bien contratándoles o simplemente secuestrándoles. Pero recuerda, una tripulación a sueldo es esperable que te sea más leal que una contra su voluntad.
Puede ser que se te acerquen contrabandistas en la calle o que des con un tugurio de contrabandistas. En ambos casos intentarán venderte contrabando, lo cual es muy peligroso, pero se puede ganar mucho dinero. Si la policía te coge con el material, te lo quitarán y te encarcelarán. El precio de compra y venta está fijado en tu pueblo de origen, pero variará de puerto en puerto.
Una vez que hayas comprado tus provisiones y mercancias debes salir al mar. Una vez a bordo, podrás elegir tu rumbo, siempre que hayas comprado el equipo y los mapas necesarios para viajar a los diferentes puertos disponibles para comerciar.

Para Daniel Wizenberg, periodista argentino de Revista Late y que visitó territorio norcoreano, (Ultimas Noticias) el cambio principal "respecto a la situación que se venía manejando en las últimas décadas, donde siempre hubo tensión, es la aparición de Donald Trump". Este experto apuntó que a este "juego que siempre tuvo un condimento retórico muy grande", se le sumó "un jugador de la retórica, la amenaza y la provocación" como es el presidente estadounidense.
Asimismo, analizó que "poner la tensión en conflictos externos" es para Trump "una buena manera de evitar discusiones internas que lo ponen mucho más incómodo, considerando que su popularidad no viene muy bien".
Y remarcó que si bien es cierto que EE.UU. movilizó un portaaviones, "ya tiene varias decenas de bases militares en Corea del Sur desde los tiempos de la guerra de Corea (1950-1953)". Es decir, que Washington "ya tiene presencia militar en la zona" y el hecho de que la refuerce "tiene que ver con alimentar más la hipótesis de la guerra y, sobre todo, de intimidar a una Corea del Norte que es pobre, pero tiene armas".
¿Quién se perjudica?
Ante la consulta de a quienes afecta esta situación, Wizenberg no dudó en afirmar que "a Corea del Sur no le conviene el régimen de Kim Jong-un, pero mucho menos una guerra". Es que "si hay alguien que sale perdiendo, que sale dañado" frente a un hipotético ataque de Corea del Norte "es Seúl", debido a que "son vecinos y enemigos íntimos".
Por eso resaltó que "cualquier movimiento en el equilibrio y 'statu quo' de la región perjudica a Corea del Sur". Esto se debe a que "el desarrollo del sur y el no desarrollo del norte, siempre fueron tan opuestos como complementarios". De hecho, el propio Wizenberg explicó en 2016 que Seúl "tiene un PBI 46 veces más grande" que Pionyang y que "una caída del régimen generaría un ejército de reserva y de refugiados que distorsionaría el mercado".
De todas formas, hizo hincapié en que "los afectados históricamente" son los norcoreanos, debido a que "han perdido calidad de vida y han quedado en el medio, muchas veces sin saberlo, de un juego geopolítico donde los grandes actores siempre salen ganando".
¿Habrá guerra?
La pregunta que ronda esto días es si, efectivamente, se desatará o no una guerra en la península. Wizenberg plantea dudas al respecto. En primer lugar porque, como mencionó, no favorece a un aliado clave de EE.UU. como es Corea del Sur. Pero además, un conflicto bélico "sería desastroso principalmente para Corea del Norte porque la diferencia de fuerzas es impresionante": si bien "puede dañar a Corea del Sur, a Japón o incluso Hawái, sin duda saldrían perdiendo".
Por su parte, China "evaluaría muy seriamente que hacer antes de involucrarse en un conflicto bélico con EE.UU". El Gobierno chino "está muy cómodo en una situación de paz, mucho más que en una situación de guerra". Según el especialista, Pekín "va a mantener ese papel dual de apoyar a Corea del Norte para no tener frontera con Corea del Sur y, al mismo tiempo, condenar a Pionyang en la ONU". Así, puede seguir siendo "el mediador entre los norcoreanos y Occidente".
Finalmente, analizó que "el papel que pueda jugar Rusia" en este conflicto "está mediado ya con otros factores como Siria, Crimea y una geopolítica a gran escala" que excede la problemática puntual coreana.
El régimen norcoreano por dentro
En 2016, Daniel Wizenberg visitó Pionyang. Si bien en los últimos años se ha abierto la posibilidad de viajar a Corea del Norte, siguen siendo pocos los occidentales que han podido conocer el país. Consultado sobre la realidad norcoreana, subrayó que se trata de "un régimen totalitario" y, a pesar de que indicó que "hay miseria", recordó que "también" existe "en los países capitalistas".
Para el periodista, se trata de un país "que ha quedado muy relegado y que se ha podido sostener" gracias a "un régimen completamente cerrado en materia de información" y, en gran medida, "de bienes y servicios". "Se abastece más por el contrabando y la economía informal que por la formal", que muestra "un país similar a Honduras o Mozambique", mientras que la primera "muestra otro país".
Así y todo "es un país chico, pobre, en el que hay clases sociales regidas por el culto a la personalidad", aunque aclaró que "no son las clases que hay en los países capitalistas" porque "se distribuyen mejor los recursos, pero son escasos".
Finalmente, analizó que Corea del Norte "no ha podido pasar la barrera de la guerra fría y la locura de sus líderes es lo que lo ha sostenido". Al "constituirse como una amenaza", ha evitado la invasión o ataque de EE.UU., algo "que ha sucedido en otros estados, por ejemplo de Medio Oriente". Wizenberg opinó que Kim Jong-un "sabe que no tiene nada que perder" y, en caso de que lo estén por destituir, "va a salir con los pies para adelante", lo que lo conviere en "mucho más peligroso que Saddam Hussein, que ni siquiera tenía armas químicas.

The locals will always enter by greeting the rest of the passengers "buenos dias” (good day) or “buenas tardes” (good afternoon). Brush up on your Spanish so you can recite the greetings, as well!
3. Don't Explore Without a Four-Wheel Drive Vehicle
When you head outside of the major cities, it's best to travel in a four-wheel drive vehicle. You'll be faced with many sub-par roads, including hazardous highways without shoulders, lack of fencing and barriers.
4. Don't Carry Large Notes
We usually say this so that you don't become the target of a crime. However, in Bolivia, the reason is that a lot of the vendors don't carry change. So if a taxi ride costs you 10 Bs and you hand the driver a 20, good luck getting any change back.
5. Don't Get in a Taxi With No Signage
According to travel advisories, (DOS) crimes that take place in taxi cabs are a huge problem in Bolivia. Many criminals drive around in cars that look like taxis, and once a tourist enters the vehicle, they're mugged of their money and belongings. Take a radio taxi and make sure the vehicle has clear signage with the business name, address, and telephone number on the roof.

Tai-Pan is an action, adventure and strategy game by Ocean Software. It was released in 1987 for Amstrad CPC.
Make your fortune in China, in this adaptation of James Clavell's book. The year is 1841... The traders of Europe are sailing the waters of east in search of their fortunes. The waters of the China seas were hostile, with both weather and pirates taking their toll of the traders ship and profits. Then, the trade in contraband grew so much that the independent traders began to amass great fortunes and fleets of ships, and the leader formed their own trading companies and began to monopolise the trade. The chinese named these men Tai-Pan (Supreme Leaders), and the greatest of these was THE TAI-PAN.
You enter the game penniless, no money, no ships, no assets. Your ambition is to become THE TAI-PAN. You begin in the town of Guangzhou and must try to find someone to lend you enough money to buy and equip a ship, and still leave you enough to get a crew and buy goods to trade. The money lent to you must be repaid within six months, or your benefactor will lose face and you will lose your head!
You can get a crew either by paying them or simply kidnapping them. But remember, paid crew is liable to be more loyal to you than a forced crew.
You might be approached by smugglers within the towns, or you could discover a smugglers den. They might try to sell you contraband, this is very dangerous to trade in but very profitable. If the police catch you with contraband you will be imprisoned and your goods forefitted. The smugglers price is fixed for buying and selling when in town, but marked changes will vary the price at each port visited.
Once you have your supplies and goods you must set sail. When on board, you will be able to choose your course, assuming you have bought the equipment and maps, to travel to the myriad of ports available to you to trade. When choosing your shipping routes, you should take note of the time of year (the weather) and the safety of certain routes. The less safe the route the more chance of being attacked.
The game has three main stages, and a number of different gameplay elements, largely allowing you choose your own path. Initially you walk the streets trying to get the right elements and people, then you head out onto the waters to head to other trading cities. Upon approaching other ships you can board them and do battle with their inhabitants.

Puede ser que se te acerquen contrabandistas en la calle o que des con un tugurio de contrabandistas. En ambos casos intentarán venderte contrabando, lo cual es muy peligroso, pero se puede ganar mucho dinero. Si la policía te coge con el material, te lo quitarán y te encarcelarán. El precio de compra y venta está fijado en tu pueblo de origen, pero variará de puerto en puerto.
Una vez que hayas comprado tus provisiones y mercancias debes salir al mar. Una vez a bordo, podrás elegir tu rumbo, siempre que hayas comprado el equipo y los mapas necesarios para viajar a los diferentes puertos disponibles para comerciar.
