Taisan Loaf Cake | Filipino Chiffon Cake | Steamed And Baked
Taisan Loaf Cake is a Filipino chiffon cake that is pillowy soft. Topped with butter, sprinkled with sugar and grated cheese perfect for snacks that can be shared with family and friends.
This recipe yields 2 loaf cakes.
Here's what you'll need:
4 egg yolks
1/4 cup sugar (55g)
1/4 cup cooking oil (50g)
1 teaspoon vanilla (5g)
2 tablespoon melted butter (20g) unsalted
1/4 cup fresh or evap milk (58g)
2 tablespoon water (20g)
1 and 1/4 cup cake flour (140g)
1 teaspoon baking powder (5g)
1/2 teaspoon salt (3g)
6 eggwhites
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice or cream of tartar
1/2 cup sugar (110g)
Bake at 170°Celsius for 30-40 minutes. Oven specification may differ.

pan size: size 8 loaf pan
baking temp and time: 180°C for 20 to 22 minutes (remember every oven is deifferent, make sure to keep an eye but do not open the oven door)
kung ibebenta niyo po siya as it is nilalagyan ko siya ng kaunting kaunting orange dood color para lang gumanda at maging mas kaaya-aya ang itsura
ingredients
6 pcs. large size eggs
1/4 cup sugar ( for the egg yolks)
1/2 cup sugar (for the egg whites)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 and 1/4 cup cake flour (sifted)
1/3 cup milk (you can also use water)
1/4 cup oil (any type of oil will do) I use coconut oil
1 tbsp. vanilla extarct
reason why your chiffon fail even though you follow the measurements correctly.
*over mixing of egg whites that it deflates
*over mixing of the batter and the egg whites
*not enough temper...

This is one of the goodies that I really miss. Dahil noong bata pa ako, isa ‘to sa palaging binebake ni mom hanggang sa natutunan ko na rin itong gawin. Sobrang simpol lang, no fancy frostings but I’m sure you will love it too! 🥰

ingredients:

meringue:
6 egg whites
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tsp white vinegar
Toppings:
1/2 cup butter/margarine, softened
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup grated cheese
Procedure:
1) Bring water to a boil
2) Combine egg yolks, water, vegetable oil and vanilla extract
3) In a separate bowl combine cake flour, white sugar, powdered milk and baking powder
4) Combine dry and wet ingredients
5) Meringue: Beat egg whites until foamy
6) Add white vinegar and beat until soft peaks form
7) Gradually add sugar and beat until stiff peaks form
8) Fold meringue into the cake batter
9) Pour cake batter into the loaf pan
10)Steam over med. low heat for 30-40min.
11)Remove cake from the pan and cool completely
12)Creamed butter: Beat butter until soft and creamy
13)Gradually add white sugar and beat until color turns off white
14)Spread creamed butter onto the cake
15)Top with grated cheese

1 tsp baking powder
1/8 cup powdered milk
1/2 cup white sugar
4 egg yolks
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
1 tsp vanilla extract
meringue:
6 egg whites
1/2 cup white sugar
1 tsp white vinegar
Toppings:
1/2 cup butter/margarine, softened
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup grated cheese
Procedure:
1) Bring water to a boil
2) Combine egg yolks, water, vegetable oil and vanilla extract
3) In a separate bowl combine cake flour, white sugar, powdered milk and baking powder
4) Combine dry and wet ingredients
5) Meringue: Beat egg whites until foamy
6) Add white vinegar and beat until soft peaks form
7) Gradually add sugar and beat until stiff peaks form
8) Fold meringue into the cake batter
9) Pour cake batter into the loaf pan
10)Steam over med. low heat for 30-40min.
11)Remove cake from the pan and cool completely
12)Creamed butter: Beat butter until soft and creamy
13)Gradually add white sugar and beat until color turns off white
14)Spread creamed butter onto the cake
15)Top with grated cheese
