Sreekumar Achary, better known by his stage name Jagathy Sreekumar, is an Indian film actor who has performed in more than 1,000 Malayalam films. He has also directed two films and has written screenplays for two films. His stage name is derived from the neighbourhood of Jagathy in Thiruvananthapuram, from where he hails.
Sreekumar was born on 5 January 1951 at Jagathy, Thiruvananthapuram. He is the son of Malayalam dramatist and writer N. K. Achary (1917–1992) (also fondly known as Jagathy). N. K. Achary was an All India Radio employee. Even from childhood, Jagathy Sreekumar had the dream of becoming an actor.
Sreekumar has acted in more than 1,100 Malayalam films especially in comedy roles. He has won the State government’s award in different categories four times. He paired with actor Mohanlal in hit movies.
On 10th March 2012, he was seriously injured in a road accident at Panambra near the Calicut University at Tenhipalam in Malappuram district. After multiple surgeries he is gradually recovering from the mishap. He is admitted in Vellore hospital for further treatment.
Mohammed Haneefa (22 April 1951 – 2 February 2010), better known by his stage name Cochin Haneefa (Malayalam: കൊച്ചിന് ഹനീഫ), was an Indian film actor, director, and screenwriter. He started his career in the 1970s mainly portraying villainous roles, before going on to become one of the most popular comedians of Malayalam cinema. He has acted in more than 300 films in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi. As a filmmaker he is best known for the films Aankiliyude Tharattu (1987) and Valtsalyam (1993).
Haneefa was born in Kochi to Kochi Velthedathu Tharavattil A.B. Muhammed and Hajira. He studied at Kochi St. Augustine's School and St. Albert's College and graduated with a degree in Botany.
He was a member of the famed comedy troupe Cochin Kalabhavan, whose members included Jayaram, Kalabhavan Mani, Harisree Ashokan, Salim Kumar, and Bindhu Panicker. He made his film debut in 1972 in Azhimukham directed by Vijayan and went on to act in over 300 films in Malayalam. He also acted in over 80 Tamil films, including popular movies like Mahanadi with Kamal Haasan,Sivaji and Enthiran with Rajinikanth.
Anoop Menon (born Anoop Gangadharan) is a Indian film actor, screenwriter and lyricist. He worked in television before finding success as an actor in films. He won the 2009 Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actor and also the 2009 Filmfare Awards for Thirakkatha.
Anoop was born in Karamana,Thiruvananthapuram, in the state of Kerala. He is a law graduate from Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram (1994 to 1999). He was the first rank holder from Kerala university during his academic years. During this period, he used to do compering for Kairali TV and Surya TV. Recently, he has worked on Mani Ratnam's big-budget film with Vikram and Shreya in leading roles.
He began his acting career in Malayalam television serials. He became popular for his roles in two popular series on Asianet called Swapnam and Megham, the former one directed by K. K. Rajeev. Anoop made his debut as a screenwriter in Pakal Nakshatrangal with Mohanlal playing father and Anoop playing his son.
He also played main character in Thirakkatha by Ranjith, portraying different stages in the life of film star Ajay Chandran, loosely based on the personal life of Kamal Haasan. His co-stars were Priyamani and Prithviraj.
