Plot: The Saikias are a wealthy family, consisting of father, mother, and two unmarried sons, Sanjoy and Sunil. Sanjoy is the elder of the two, who refuses to marry, and the rest of the family have to live with his temper tantrums, alcoholism, and patronizing prostitutes. They decide to get him married to a woman named, Durga, who comes from a lower caste, & a poor family, who they believe will be able to live with Sanjoy and his weaknesses. Sanjoy initially refuses to marry Durga, but when his mother threatens to cut him off from her will and estate, he relents and marries her. Thus begins Durga's nightmare with Sanjoy - right from day one. On the very first night Sanjoy decides to spent it with a prostitute named Chameli, who gets pregnant. He subsequently forcibly has sex with Durga, and gets her pregnant too, but blames her pregnancy on Sunil. Durga gives birth to a daughter, Deepa, much to Sanjoy's disappointment, as he had expected a son. Years pass by, Deepa is now 12 years old, and Sanjoy decides to get her married to an older male, and he refuses to listen to anyone, and severely beats up Durga in the presence of the rest of his family. One stormy night during a brawl between the brothers, Sunil is killed. Durga feels alone, threatened, and afraid that her daughter might be forced to re-live her horrors - she and Deepa run away. Sanjoy files a complaint with local police, alleging that Durga has abducted Deepa. Durga and Deepa re-locate to Guwahati, and find support from unexpected quarters - where they grow and thrive. Then one day, Durga sees Sanjoy at the local drug store buying some alcohol. Has her biggest nightmare returned to take possession of her and Deepa?

Plot: Inspector Kishan lives a middle-class lifestyle in Mumbai, India, along with his younger brother, Rahul. The city is being held to ransom by corrupt politicians like Rana Jung Bahadur who openly associate with gangsters and criminal dons like Chaurasia, Rajeshwar and his brother, Lankeshwar. But when Chaurasia decides to take the larger share of the underworld market, a gang-war breaks out. When Inspector Kishan attempts to arrest Chaurasia, he is warned by his superior, ACP. Rahul then witnesses a murder being committed by Chaurasia's goon, Surya, but before he could do anything, he himself is killed. An enraged Kishan goes to kill Surya, but is prevented by thugs. Neena's goes into a depression and passes away. Plot: It tells the story of two lovers, Prem (Salman Khan) and Nisha (Madhuri Dixit). Their older siblings, Rajesh and Pooja get married. Prem tells his sister-in-law, Nisha's older sister, Pooja, that he loves Nisha.Pooja binds the two with her blessings and a necklace. Before Pooja can tell anyone the good news, she falls down the stairs, and dies. Everyone feels they lost their life after Pooja dies, because she had a magic touch that even the dog, Tuffy, notices. Rajesh finds life hard without Pooja, and he finds it especially hard to raise their son. The parents decide to get Rajesh married to Nisha so that he won't feel so lonely, and his son will get a mother. Nisha unknowingly accepts because she thinks that she is going to marry Prem. When she finds out she is marrying Rajesh, the two lovers decide to sacrifice their love for Rejesh's happiness. The servant that Pooja treated like a brother prays to God to stop the wedding and have Prem and Nisha get married. The dog decides to do something and takes the necklace Pooja gave to Nisha to wear to her wedding with Prem. Nisha writes a note saying that she is giving Pooja's bind back to Prem. The dog takes the necklace and note and instead of giving it to Prem, he gives to Rajesh. Rajesh finds out that Nisha and Prem love each other, and steps aside so that his younger brother can marry Nisha. They live happily ever after.

Plot: Abhijeet wants to finds a cure for people addicted to brown sugar and for this purpose works day and night. Plot: After Sakharam Borade loses in the bullock-cart race to Shankar Patil, he is hostile towards him. Plot: Mocking at religion, flirting with women, in debt with a number of shop-keepers, Raju lives an impoverished lifestyle, and is in love with Lachhi, whose blind Nani does not approve of him. When he finds out that Nani's landlord, Kalwa, is threatening to evict them unless she comes up with Rs.5000/-, he first attempts to borrow money. Failing in this, he steals it from Rana and goes on the run from the police. He boards a train without a ticket and enters a compartment which has a single occupant, Swami Satyanand, who looks exactly like him. The train has an accident, he takes advantage of this situation, dons the Swami's guise, and subsequently manages to pull wool over the latter's devotees - with an agenda of collecting as much cash as possible. He is not aware that Swami has survived the accident, and is being held against his will by Lachhi - and it will not be too long before Raju's past will catch up with him - and he will have to answer for his crimes.
