Violet Berlin (born 2 January 1968) is a Turkish-born English television presenter, writer and producer best known for her coverage of video games.
Berlin began presenting in the 1980s and 1990s when she presented WildBunch on BBC One from 1988 to 1992, and Cool Cube for BSkyB when it ran from 1989 to 1992. She is best known for co-presenting Bad Influence! between 1992 and 1996, a video gaming series with Andy Crane on terrestrial television (ITV) at a time where Mega Drive, SNES and Game Boy products dominated the market.
Berlin then went on the host a number of other terrestrial shows, including Saturday Disney, The Big Bang, and Bits & Bytes.
She is also known for writing and hosting video gaming show Gamepad, which aired on the Bravo satellite channel between 2001 and 2004.
The Big Bang ran for four series, and was produced by the company Berlin runs with her partner Gareth Jones, her co-presenter who has presented other shows such as How 2.
She currently works as a writer and science communicator for major museum projects such as The Royal Observatory in Greenwich, and sometimes appears on Jones's motoring podcast "Gareth Jones on Speed".

Berlin (/bərˈlɪn/, German: [bɛɐ̯ˈliːn]) is the capital of Germany and one of the 16 states of Germany. With a population of 3.5 million people, it is the second most populous city proper and the seventh most populous urban area in the European Union. Located in northeastern Germany on the banks of Rivers Spree and Havel, it is the centre of the Berlin-Brandenburg Metropolitan Region, which has about six million residents from over 180 nations. Due to its location in the European Plain, Berlin is influenced by a temperate seasonal climate. Around one-third of the city's area is composed of forests, parks, gardens, rivers and lakes.
First documented in the 13th century and situated at the crossing of two important historic trade routes, Berlin became the capital of the Margraviate of Brandenburg (1417–1701), the Kingdom of Prussia (1701–1918), the German Empire (1871–1918), the Weimar Republic (1919–1933) and the Third Reich (1933–1945).Berlin in the 1920s was the third largest municipality in the world. After World War II, the city was divided; East Berlin became the capital of East Germany while West Berlin became a de facto West German exclave, surrounded by the Berlin Wall (1961–1989) and East Germany territory. Following German reunification in 1990, Berlin was once again designated as the capital of united Germany.
Hey Violet is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, consisting of Miranda Miller (rhythm guitar/keyboard/vocals), Nia Lovelis (drums/vocals), Rena Lovelis (bass/lead vocals) and Casey Moreta (lead guitar).
Formed in 2008 as Cherri Bomb while its members were still in middle school, the band was originally all-female, consisting of Miller, the Lovelis sisters and lead singer Julia Pierce. In 2013, Pierce left the band and was later replaced by Moreta. In 2015, the band changed their name to Hey Violet, and later on signed to Hi or Hey Records.
Cherri Bomb consisted of Julia Pierce, who was the lead guitarist and vocalist, alongside Nia Lovelis, Miranda Miller and Rena Lovelis. The name Cherri Bomb originated from the book Cherry Bomb – The Ultimate Guide to Becoming a Better Flirt, a Tougher Chick, and a Hotter Girlfriend, and to Living Life Like a Rock Star by Carrie Borzillo. On June 14, 2011, they signed to Hollywood Records, and on October 18, 2011, they released their debut EP, Stark.

I remember the day of recording well on this one. I went over to the GAMEPAD studio which is based in central London. My task was to talk about the game and play it skillfully while they captured my performance for the show. So, yes, that's me playing the game. I miss Violet Berlin (the presenter), she's a lovely lady and I hope everything is going well with her and her family. It's a pity that GAMEPAD isn't on air anymore too. Oh well.

Originally Uploaded: Mon 14 Dec 2009 08:41:41 PST As it's Christmas, I thought a lot of my fans would like to see my very first appearance on a gaming TV show... This was me as a young cherub faced 14 year old going through his early 90's mullet phase on the Chrildren's Channel gaming show "Head to Head", it was filmed in 1993 at the Carlton studios in St. John's Wood, London and presented by Violet Berlin. Anyhoo, it was on Super Kick off on the Mega Drive, and I'm not a lover of Football games to begin with, but I promptly lost thanks to Violet telling me the wrong buttons on penalties, hence why I looked pissed off at the end. But I did-reapply to appear on the show, and this time it was for Rock n' Roll Racing on the SNES and I ended up winning the mountain bike! Also, ...

Looking over the gaming-free television schedules of today, you'd never be able to guess that head to head video games shows were once the keystone of a channel's prime time lineup. That said, the most originally titled of these series, The Children's Channel's Head to Head, broadcast mostly in the mornings to cater for the 'getting ready for school' crowd. Quick fact: Violet Berlin may or may not have been in another gaming TV show or two, though I wouldn't know because I never watched Bad Influence.
