The meerkat or suricate (Suricata suricatta) is a small carnivoran belonging to the mongoose family (Herpestidae). It is the only member of the genus Suricata. Meerkats live in all parts of the Kalahari Desert in Botswana, in much of the Namib Desert in Namibia and southwestern Angola, and in South Africa. A group of meerkats is called a "mob", "gang" or "clan". A meerkat clan often contains about 20 meerkats, but some super-families have 50 or more members. In captivity, meerkats have an average life span of 12–14 years, and about half this in the wild.
"Meerkat" is a loanword from Afrikaans (pronounced [ˈmeərkɐt]). The name has a Dutch origin, but by misidentification. In Dutch, meerkat means the guenon, a monkey of the Cercopithecus genus. The word meerkat is Dutch for "sea cat", but although the suricata is a feliform, it is not of the cat family; the word possibly started as a Dutch adaptation of a derivative of Sanskrit markaṭa मर्कट = "ape", perhaps in Africa via an Indian sailor on board a Dutch East India Company ship.

Meerkats!
They might look cute and cuddly... but at dinnertime, these meerkats form a menacing mob. They team up to dig for scorpions, whose stings have no effect on them. Meerkats Animal Profile http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/mammals/meerkat/
Simon King spends a lot of time allowing the meerkat family to get used to his presence, and his efforts pay off as he witnesses a baby meerkat's first ever sight of life beyond the burrow. See these cute baby animals on their first adventure in the wild African plains, from the BBC.
Kinji the Cheetah is something special. He honestly tries making friends with everyone... especially the animals that lives within his reach. I've mentioned before he is very clever and extremely calm and non aggressive in nature. Chloe the dog bites him on the lips sometimes when he bothers her to much and he accepts the consequences and never retaliates. He is a fun loving cheetah who loves to play and loves MEERKATS! Here he is at 8 months and 2 years old trying to get the meerkats to scratch him. He ends up purring to the delight of getting a grooming from these small creatures. He has no idea they want to kill him! Meerkats are territorial and do not like predators. Staff label Kinji as "The cheetah that doesn't purr" and it is rare for sure. I've only heard him purr when ea...

This hilarious video shows how simples it is to make a meerkat LAUGH - by TICKLING its tummy. The meerkat - named Alexander after the Compare The Market Russian critter - was filmed laughing with pleasure at Whitehouse Farm Centre near Morpeth, Northumberland. His keepers regularly stroke his and his fellow meerkat's stomachs - causing them to make a giggle-like sound. Staff member Karen Lovatt said the ticklish creatures are spreading the laughter and sending visitors into stitches.

It's hard to form a sentence
When it's to be momentous
But when told that you dreamt this
Remember I said expect it
It's time you realize
How it looks on the outside
With a blast of acid rain
We can wash our cares away
It's days like this I wonder
Where my life toppled under
But then comes the acid rain
And takes my pain away
Ya'll been to saturn? I been to saturn
Hangin' with Macaulay lost in Manhattan
Makin' DEAD BEATS not fresh, but all rotten
Smoke em if you got em, give me basses and I'll drop em
Bitch I'm blitzed get off my shit
In need of ibuprofen, I take em till I'm chokin'
I'd like to fill you in on all the shit I'm tokin'
But I chewed apart my mouth and my hands are busy jerkin'
Waiting for the longest time, who am I now?
I'm incomplete
Looking out from the inside without a sound
What's left of me?
Back in black have a heart attack
While my techno rotted brain's force feeding big macs
I feel my stomach turn, I think I'm gunna vomit
My mouth is shooting comets, fetch me my curing tonic
Drink a fifth of cough syrup
Then drink a little more till your vision starts to blur
And if things start getting spotted then this can be regarded
As you totally tripping balls 'cause your brain is half retarded
