Keira Christina Knightley (/ˌkɪərə ˈnaɪtli/; born 26 March 1985) is an English actress. She began acting as a child on television and made her film debut in 1995. She had a supporting role as Sabé in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999) and her first significant role came in the psychological horror film The Hole (2001). ASBURY UNDERGROUND: The streets of Asbury Park will come alive with music this Saturday and Sunday during Asbury Underground. The semi-annual event features dozens of local Asbury-centric musicians performing special acoustic sets in art galleries, shops and eateries throughout downtown AP. Featured performers include: Val Emmich, Renee Maskin of Lowlight, gods, Ron Santee of The Battery Electric, Chris Brown, and Nick Paolise of Dub Proof along with a virtual who's who of Asbury mainstays. The daylong event features live outdoor art displays and exhibitions, while all the galleries in Asbury will have their doors open to the public. There's an after-party at the Asbury Hotel starting at 9 p.m. Sunday will see Harvest Fest in the (Kennedy) Park which will have live music, local artisans and vendors, and pumpkin painting. Free. Saturday, Noon to 8 p.m.; Sunday 12 to 5 p.m. Lake Avenue, Cookman Avenue and Bangs Avenue, Asbury Park.
BORDENTOWN RIVERFEST: Now this is a big party. The event usually draws thousands of people, and organizers believe this year may reach 10,000 guests. Riverfest will take place on four acres of lands at the "city beach" off of Park and Prince Streets. There will be a 400-foot stage where three bands, and a pipe and drums unit will perform. There will be three beer trucks rolled up on the festival grounds serving 10 types of beers. There will also be wine for those who enjoy a little vino. For those not into drinking, there's plenty of vendors, and food from local restaurants to purchase. The kids can enjoy a free magic show, face painters, and a whole bunch of bunch houses and bouncy attractions. The event is free but donations are accepted. Tickets to the beer and wine garden are $15-$20. Free. Saturday, 12 to 10 p.m. Park and Prince Street, Bordentown City.
THE CHATSWORTH CRANBERRY FESTIVAL: The beauty of the famed cranberry bogs will be celebrated by locals and tourists alike at the 33rd Annual Chatsworth Cranberry Festival. The festival takes place Saturday and Sunday, taking over downtown Chatsworth with an endless sea of vendors, local craftsmen, and food vendors, many of whom do delicious things with cranberries. Southern rock cover band Bullzeye will provide the soundtrack, and there will be a classic car show for aficionados. Part of the proceeds of the festival will go towards to the restoration and preservation of the historic White Horse Inn. $5. Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Downtown Chatsworth.
DAVID SEDARIS AT COUNT BASIE: Acclaimed best-selling author David Sedaris will grace the stages of the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank Thursday. "An Evening with David Sedaris" will see the NPR humorist, and frequent contributor to The New Yorker bring his own brand of wit, insight and humor to the Jersey Shore. Sedaris is known such works as "Me Talk Pretty One Day," "Naked," and "Barrel Fever." MEGADETH ROCKS THE ROCK: Megadeth has returned. The release of their 2016 record "Dystopia" has re-energized the band's live performance and their fan base as the band is headlining the Prudential Center in Newark on Friday. One of the original members of the "Big 4" of speed metal along with Metallica, Anthrax and Slayer, Megadeth brings a massive catalog of hits to their shows ranging from classics like "Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?" to "Sweating Bullets" to "Crush 'Em." Opening for Megadeth is a virtual who's who of thrash, punk and metal bands Amon Amarth, Suicidal Tendencies, Metal Church, and Butcher Babies. $39.50-$59.50. THE GLOW - A JACK O'LANTERN EXPERIENCE AT MONMOUTH PARK: If you want to experience the glorious nature of fall, you'll want to check out The Glow: A Jack O'Lantern Experience at Monmouth Park. The event runs Fridays through Sunday till the end of October. Glow features close to 5,000 glowing jack o'lanterns carved in all shapes and configurations. Many of the pumpkins are carved to reflect New Jersey -- representing New Jersey landmarks, famous actors and singers, and even some gangsters. There's also a pirate ship "Revenge" on premise which is led by Captain Jack and his band of not-so merry men. There's a prehistoric park where you can find a sixteen foot-tall dinosaur. $16-$50. 'DISGRACED' AT MCCARTER THEATRE: One of the most lauded plays of the past five years, "Disgraced," comes to the stage of the McCarter Theatre in Princeton. The 2013 Pulitzer Prize-winning and Tony-Nominated play by Aya Akhtar, revolves around a multi-cultural dinner party hosted by an upwardly mobile Muslim Americans. Issues such as Islamophobia, and the main character's own identities as both Muslims and Americans are raised during the dinner, and for us, the viewer, to engage. The show opens Friday and runs until October 30. There is a post-show discussion after each performance. $25-$80.50.
