Gweedore (officially known by its Irish language name, Gaoth Dobhair, Irish pronunciation: [ˌɡˠi ˈd̪ˠoːɾʲ]) is an Irish-speaking parish located on the Atlantic coast of County Donegal, Ireland. Gweedore stretches some 16 miles from Meenaclady in the north to Crolly in the south and around 9 miles from Dunlewey in the east to Magheraclogher in the west, and is one of Europe's most densely populated rural areas. It is the largest Irish-speaking parish in Ireland with a population of around 4,065, and is also the home of the northwest regional studios of the Irish-language radio service RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta, as well as an external campus of National University of Ireland, Galway. Gweedore includes the villages Bunbeg, Derrybeg, Dunlewey, Crolly and Brinalack, and sits in the shade of Donegal's highest peak, Errigal.
Gweedore is known for being a cradle of Irish culture, with old Irish customs, traditional music, theatre, Gaelic games and the Irish language playing a central and pivotal role in the lives of the local people. This, along with its scenery and many beaches, has made the area a popular tourist destination, especially with visitors from Northern Ireland. Gweedore and the neighbouring districts of Cloughaneely and the Rosses are collectively known locally as "the three parishes", they form a social and cultural region distinct from the rest of the county, with Gweedore serving as the main centre for socialising and industry.

Clannad with the song 'Green fields of Gaoth Dobhair', from the album "Fuaim" (1982). Lyrics: Down past Dunlewey's (Dún Lúiche) bonny lakes one morning I did stray Until I reached sweet Clady banks where the silvery salmon play I strolled around through old Bunbeg (An Bun Beag) and down along the shore And gazed with admiration on the green fields of Gweedore I visit Magherclocher (Machaire Gathlán) on Middletown heights I stand Beneath me lies the ocean wide and Machergallon strand Those sandy banks so dear to me, those banks I do adore Behind me lies sweet Derrybeg (Doire Beag) and the green fields of Gweedore The bonny Isle of Gola (Gabhla) and Inishmean (Inis Meáin) so near I see the little fishing fleet as it lies along the pier I wander through the graveyard where...

Sarah Louise - 'Travelling Soldier' As far back as Sarah Louise can remember, she has been singing Country Music. Her earliest memory was attending Line Dancing Classes at the tender age of 5 and getting a taste for American Country Music. Ever since then, Sarah Louise has been a natural performer, singing and playing the guitar to her family, peers and just about anyone who'd call to her house! Sarah Louise has been giffted with the type of voice you'd only hear in Tennesee or Texas, and not her native Gweedore! But ask who her influences are and she'll tell you straight - anything American Country! Where else would you hear Bi-Lingual American Country! Sarah Louise has one of those rare qualities - a truly wholesome family value that can only be found in parts of Ireland that haven't y...

Blindly walking against the outcomes of life
Hallowed
The kiss of decay in steps of two
Empty bleak carrion
Stripped of sensation
Exposing the faith of beyond on your deathbed
We are but worms in the fruit of expiration
The most forbidden fruit of disease
Unkept from dying Lost within a distand fear (Distant feat of dying)
This idol of absolute
Animals of the world feed war
Pathological outcast of Christ
Taking revolution for name
Glassy look of the eyes
Too deep for a living soul to stomach
Images of the afterworld
Leverage within the creation of ruin
We travel through a doorway of nothing
Enter afterlife of inverted faith
Indulging in childhood fears
To enter a mystery of ungodly ascent (Ascend)
The never ending punishment of unfeeling to perish in a death of disregard
Oppressive association in a vague cleansing of the irate
Gold gates of the divine
Breathe more life into vanity
Material power, Human idealism
A living myth of the trials of the abnormal
Winged ugli ness in a shattered prism
Soaring the scaled impiety to lay the trap
With fruit of failure It leads our rebirth into the snake
The darkness bleeds throughout the sky in plagues
A deep breath of a martyr's dream
