Police found the victim naked cowering on the bathroom floor with severe burns masking over 70 percent of his body. His wife was sentenced to 20 years to life. 4 - The Curse of Carmen Winstead Carmen Winstead was 17-years-old when she moved to Indiana, being the new girl proved difficult for the young teen, and eventually, turned deadly. Hey bullying hit its peak the day of a fire drill when five girls attempted to embarrass her by forcing her into a sewer drain, Carmen was overcrowded and shoved down the manhole, her face was torn off by the metal ladder and her neck snapped against the cement floor. The five girls lied and said she fell, everyone believed them and Carmen was quickly forgotten. That is, until a mysterious chainmail letter began circling unsuspecting emails. The emails from an unknown source outlined the murder and threatened terrible consequences for the persecutors and to any who didn't resend the email with the words They Pushed Her scrawled on top. The story continues with all five girls being haunted by Carmen's ghost and killed in vicious bloodthirsty fashions, all down sewer holes, all with their faces torn apart. But don't worry, it's just an urban legend via the internet, however, it is based on actual fact. 3 - Garbage Compactor of Doom Parents always warn their kids to be careful when playing outside unsupervised, they warn of all kinds of horrible scenarios, getting kidnapped by strangers, or run over by drunk drivers, or getting lost in dark streets, getting stuck in an oven or even getting crushed in a garbage compactor. Sadly, in 2013 this was no rumour, this was fact. A French 17-year-old boy was playing hide and seek with some friends and had submerged himself inside a garbage disposal container. Smothered inside the folds of trash the boy didn't hear the garbage truck approaching. As the container began to lift the boy cried out, but he was too late, his body was crushed inside the hydraulic compactor. 2 - Return of the Living Dead The legend tells the weary tale of a woman left for dead and buried in a shallow grave, she awakens to this horrible surprise but is able to dig herself out of the grave. But the real life version of this story is even creepier. In 2012 a man from Poland tasered his girlfriend, bound her hands and feet with duct tape, stuffed her in a cardboard box and attempted to bury her alive. He then withdrew 500 pounds from her bank account. The 27-year-old woman was able to cut herself free with her engagement ring and clawed herself free from what would have been her grave. The boyfriend was sentenced to 20 years behind bars. 1 - Wife on the Menu The sinister story tells of a man fed up with his wife and their petty squabbles, so, he did like any lunatic would do, he killed her, cooked up her flesh and ate her to hide the evidence. In 2009 a California chef duct-taped his wife's hands, feet and mouth in an attempt to get a solid night of sleep free from arguments, she choked on her own vomit and died. In a desperate attempt to conceal his murder, the LA cook placed her corpse inside a 55-gallon drum of steaming hot water and left her to simmer for four days in his restaurant near Long Beach, The Thyme Contemporary Cafe. His wife was last seen on October 18, 2009, her body was never found, but the chef was done in by his step daughter who he drunkenly confessed to not long after.
