Calgary Zoo
A zoo located in Bridgeland. A large portion of the zoo is located on
St. George's Island in the
Bow River.
Second largest zoo in
Canada. Home to almost 800 animals, excluding individual fish and insects, and 130 different species. The 92-acre zoo is organized by into six distinct zones:
Destination Africa,
Canadian Wilds,
Penguin Plunge,
Dorothy Harvie
Botanical Gardens and
ENMAX Conservatory,
Eurasia, and
Prehistoric Park.

Heritage Park Historical Village
A historical park. Has two operating seasons. The Historical
Village is open from
May long weekend to October.
Gasoline Alley Museum is open year-round. Located on
127 acres (51 ha) of parkland on the banks of the
Glenmore Reservoir. One of the city's most visited tourist attractions.

Calgary Stampede
An annual rodeo, exhibition and festival held every July. A ten-day event, which bills itself as "
The Greatest Outdoor
Show on
Earth". Features one of the world's largest rodeos, a
parade, midway, stage shows, concerts, agricultural competitions, chuck wagon racing and
First Nations exhibitions.

Calaway Park
Western Canada's largest outdoor family amusement park. Features a variety of rides including a large log flume, the rides "
Chaos" and "
Storm", the park's two biggest attractions: "
The Vortex", its corkscrew roller coaster, and the "
Dream Machine", a 56-passenger swing ride.

The Military Museums
A reorganization of the former
Museum of the Regiments.
The new museum comprises the former Museum of the Regiments as well as the relocated Naval Museum of
Alberta and an
Air Force Wing consisting of artifacts currently being acquired.

Devonian Gardens
A large indoor park and botanical garden.
Completely enclosed with glass and covers 2.5 acres (10,
000 m2).
Include a living wall, koi ponds, fountains, a children's play area, and over 550 trees, as well as meeting/
function space for special events.

Calgary Tower
A 191-metre (627 ft) free standing observation tower. The tower was built at a cost of $3,
500,000 and weighs approximately 10,900 tones, of which 60% is below ground. Opened to the public on June 30,
1968 as
Husky Tower. Renamed the Calgary Tower in
1971.

Fort Calgary
A fort established in 1875 as
Fort Brisebois by the
North-West Mounted Police. Located at the confluence of the Bow and
Elbow rivers. The site was purchased by the
City of Calgary in
1974 and reopened in 1978 as an historic site and museum.

Millennium Park
A skate park. Consists of a street course with ledges, flat bars, stairs and transitions, an intermediate course with rails down stairs and banks, and an advanced course with cloverleaf bowl, street course and a large full pipe.

Fish Creek Provincial Park
A provincial park. The largest urban park in
Canada and one of the largest urban parks in
North America, stretching 19 km (12 mi) from east to west. A variety of paved and unpaved walking, hiking and bicycle trails.
