A grocery store is a retail store that primarily sells food. A grocer is a bulk seller of food. Grocery stores often offer non-perishable food that is packaged in cans, bottles and boxes, with some also having fresh produce, butchers, delis, and bakeries. Large grocery stores that stock significant amounts of non-food products, such as clothing and household items, are called supermarkets. Some large supermarkets also include a pharmacy and an electronics section.
In the United States, Canada, and United Kingdom, supermarkets and convenience stores are sometimes described as grocery businesses, or simply grocers. Small grocery stores that mainly sell fruits and vegetables are known as produce markets (U.S.) or greengrocers (Britain), and small grocery stores that predominantly sell prepared food, such as candy and snacks, are known as convenience stores or delicatessens.
Some grocery stores (especially large ones) form the centerpiece of a larger complex that includes other facilities, such as gas stations, which will often operate under the store's name. This setup is especially common in the United Kingdom, with major chains such as Tesco and Sainsbury's having many locations operating under this format.
The Grocer is a British market leading magazine devoted to grocery sales, published by William Reed Business Media. It has been published since 1862.
A feature of the magazine is 'The Grocer 33'. This is a survey of each of the 5 leading supermarkets' (Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Waitrose) prices and availability on a range of 33 popular lines and published in each issue. The survey is conducted by "mystery shoppers" and different branches in varying parts of the country are used for each week's survey. The supermarkets place prominence on this feature and ASDA heavily promotes the fact it has been the lowest-priced supermarket in The Grocer's survey for the past fifteen years.
The Grocer runs a range of awards in the food retail industry, including:
James Henry Miller (25 January 1915 – 22 October 1989), better known by his stage name Ewan MacColl, was an English folk singer, songwriter, communist, labour activist, actor, poet, playwright, and record producer. He was thrice married: to theatre director Joan Littlewood; to Jean Newlove, with whom he had two children, including the singer/songwriter Kirsty MacColl; and to American folksinger Peggy Seeger, with whom he had three children, Kitty, Calum and Neill. He collaborated with Littlewood in the theatre, and with Seeger in folk music.
MacColl was born as James Henry Miller at 4 Andrew Street, in Broughton, Salford in North West England, to Scottish parents, William Miller and Betsy (née Henry), both socialists. William Miller was an iron moulder and militant trade unionist who had moved to Salford with his wife, a charwoman, to look for work after being blacklisted in almost every foundry in Scotland. James Miller was the youngest and only surviving child in the family of three sons and one daughter (one of each sex was stillborn and one son died at the age of four). They lived amongst a group of Scots and Jimmy was brought up in an atmosphere of fierce political debate interspersed with the large repertoire of songs and stories his parents had brought from Scotland. He was educated at Grecian Street School in Salford. He left school in 1930 after an elementary education, during the Great Depression and, joining the ranks of the unemployed, began a lifelong programme of self-education whilst keeping warm in the Manchester Public Library. During this period he found intermittent work in a number of jobs and also made money as a street singer.

Plot: Summer 1969. Dictatorship. In a small country town, young Achileas breaks his leg by falling off the yard wall of the local cinema. He wanted to see Brigit Bardo naked... However, during his visit to the city to treat his broken leg, for the first time in his life he sees a television! The program informs about the launching of Apollo to the moon. The idea of the launching becomes Achileas' obsession and along with his friends they collect money, in order to purchase a TV set. However, soon, the dilemma becomes imperative. Will they buy a television or "visit" all together Uranya in order to be taught the secrets of love? The situation gets even more complicated when the authorities arrest Achileas' father along with the father of a good friend in order to intimidate others: Spiros Agnew, who will visit Greece, intends to visit the small country town as well and so everything must show quiet and "friendly" to the regime... Achileas and his friends will not give up that easy... In order to buy the television of their dreams, they will accept to distribute Greek and American flags to the people of the town. Achileas' disappointment is immense, when he discovers that the money collected was stolen by his friends, for other, more "erotic" destinations. The unexpected arrival of a television Uranya in town by the "town's crazy man" will result in watching Apollo's launch in the café in a rather paradoxical way... whereas the local cinema will stay deserted.

LEGO Modular Building 10185 Green Grocer - 2352 pieces and 4 minifigures. A classic set from 2008. I think this is my favorite of the 9 modulars released so far. My third review of another amazing LEPIN set. As with my previous sets the quality is excellent. I did have couple missing bricks, but nothing that couldn't be substituted with spare LEGO pieces I had. I will give this set 10/10. Another downside were the color printing differences in manual. Some black colored brick look dark grey, sometimes it's hard to see difference between reddish brown and dark red. I would recommend using online LEGO manual for this set, it helps a lot and eliminates chance to make a mistake during the build. Hope you like it!

Ewan MacColl - The Grocer The Grocer (Ewan MacColl) The tune is "The Garden Where the Praties Grow" (written about the ""Duchess of Dementia" Maggie Thatcher) Come all you argumentative sods who like to chew the rag, Who stand at the bar hour after hour on a beery talking jag; Sit down and rest your feet awhile and give your mouths a rest, And I'll tell you about the dame they call the "Guardian of the West." Her hair was the best that money could buy, her eyes were china blue; I swear they wouldn't look out of place on a frozen cockatoo. She'd a nose like the blade of a metal saw, a voice like a tungsten drill, She used it to bore the natives when she'd a couple of hours to kill. When she was a puking babe in arms, she read in a magazine About the royals and decide...

I am twice your age, but you don’t want to see
Height of naivety, as only real young girls can be
Kiss kiss I love you, no I love you more
Begging, pleading me to stop pushing on your gasping
throat
A blossoming youthfulness is so arousing to me
You’re so easy to break
Don’t you realize that I won’t stop?
A nose is easy to break
You fulfil my wildest dreams
Now I finally understand the real pride of ownership
I control you from the mouth down
Get on your hands and feet for me
Urinating on the floor and barking like a little dog
I control you from the mouth down
Give me your anus
Feed from my penis
Cute little sobs for help make everything complete
Lesson for today, a lizard has no empathy
Damsel in distress, you certainly fit the part
For you it’s good to know that life sometimes can be,
To cruel, to hard
Pushing though your psyche
Your mother would be so proud
You’re truly beneath me
Ravaging your psyche
Faecal froth foams from the mouth
I want you to swallow my pee
Cry for me delicately
Looking up inside of me
Mana from my colon
Nauseating romance
Eating chunks from me
Butterfly, you’ve become, crawling from your pupa
Not just the girl next door
Now so much more then you were before
A new white human toilet
Come lick my anus
