The Kanmailia are a Muslim occupational caste, that traditionally specialized in cleaning ear wax. They get their name from two Hindi words, kan meaning ears and mailia meaning dirt. During the period of British colonial rule, the Kanmailia were declared to be a criminal tribe under the Criminal Tribes Act. After independence, they were denotified in 1952, when the Criminal Tribes Act was replaced with the Habitual Offenders Act, but the community continues to carry considerable social stigma. Little is own about the origin of this community. Their own traditions speak of the community descending from early Arab settlers to India, and the community prefer the self designation Shaikh, a name traditionally associated with those groups who claim an Arab ancestry in India. They are found mainly in Lucknow, and the districts of Ghazipur and Etawah.
Earwax, also known as cerumen, is a yellowish waxy substance secreted in the ear canal of humans and other mammals. It protects the skin of the human ear canal, assists in cleaning and lubrication, and also provides some protection from bacteria, fungi, insects and water.
Earwax consists of shed skin cells, hair, and the secretions of the ceruminous and sebaceous glands of the outside ear canal. Major components of earwax are long chain fatty acids, both saturated and unsaturated, alcohols, squalene and cholesterol. Excess or compacted cerumen can press against the eardrum or block the outside ear canal or hearing aids, potentially causing hearing loss.

Cycle rickshaw
The cycle rickshaw is a small-scale local means of transport; it is also known by a variety of other names such as bike taxi, velotaxi, pedicab, bikecab, cyclo, beca, becak, trisikad, or trishaw.
As opposed to rickshaws pulled by a person on foot, cycle rickshaws are human-powered by pedaling. Another type of rickshaw is the auto rickshaw.
They are a type of tricycle designed to carry passengers on a for hire basis. Cycle rickshaws are widely used in major cities around the world, but most commonly in cities of South, Southeast and East Asia.
Overview
The cycle rickshaw was built in the 1880s and was first used with regularity starting in 1929 in Singapore. Six years later they outnumbered pulled rickshaws. Cycle rickshaws were found in every south and east Asian country by 1950. By the late 1980s there were estimated 4 million cycle rickshaws in the world.
The vehicle is generally pedal-driven by a driver, though some are equipped with an electric motor to assist the driver.

As an embodied public sphere, city streets are sites for multiple exchanges between differently located people and things. This talk focuses on cows, cars and cycle-rickshaws as they navigate Delhi's roads, and on the people who own, use and seek to control them. I spend the day exploring the Indian City of Varanasi, the Ghats the river Ganges, the people, the markets and the animals. I get a cycle rickshaw back to were we where yesterday. A go alone as today is a rest day so we are all left to our own devices until 17:00 when we go on the river for a flower ceremony (the boat strike finished today). Portraying the immediacy and desolation of the situation the film highlights a catalytic change revolutionizing India’s economic and social future from the grass roots level. Juxtaposing the way of life of these men with definitive solutions, the film answers the question of how these changes can trickle down to the roots of India’s soil.
The film had its world premiere at the Los Angeles Indian Film Festival, European Premiere at the Filmburo Baden-Wurttemberg's Bollywood and Beyond Film Festival and its NYC Premiere at the Sixth Annual Indo-American Arts Council Film Festival.

All three have been the subject of strenuous efforts at regulation by courts, citizens' groups and traders' associations. I get a cycle rickshaw back to were we where yesterday. A go alone as today is a rest day so we are all left to our own devices until 17:00 when we go on the river for a flower ceremony (the boat strike finished today).
I spend a good few hours walking up and down the river taking photos of everything, people, boats, animals, buildings and clothes.
I don't want to seem cynical but this place is totally different to what I expected, I mean this place is meant to be the centre of religion for many people yet it is full of hawkers trying to sell you anything from postcards, make up, scalfs, boat rides and even drugs. One person even wanted to buy my hat. Even if you point your camera in the general direction of a local they demand money. Maybe about 40 years ago in more innocent times it truly was a spiritual city but now I just see an over commercialised location preying on tourists.
I saw a number of funerals taking place in the first area there was five and the second there was seven. I even saw a body being dumped into the river, this was because they were younger than 15 years old. I respect the family wishes and refrain from taking any photographs to show the people back home.
I head back to the hotel by auto rickshaw at around 14:00 and have a couple of cokes in the restaurant and surf the internet for a while in the cyber café just outside.

Jwala Thakur believes Vikram Singh would be a threat to him during the elections. Gulabiya feels bad for slapping Sugni. She apologizes to Sugni for her act. Sugni states she did everything as she wanted Gulabiya to live her life to the fullest. Gulabiya believes that such a thing would never happen. Sugni tries to make Gulabiya believe that things would change. She states that she wanted to go to Delhi but Gulabiya explains that she could never leave her village and go away. Sugni's friend Champa believes that Sugni was brave enough to fight with Jwala Thakur's son. Champa learns from Sugni that she got scared while she was with Jwala Thakur's son in the boat. Sugni states that she prayed to Goddess Sita that she would offer flowers to her. Sugni states that she would perform the offering after she reaches Delhi. She makes Champa promise her that she would not tell anyone that she would be going to the city. Champa recollects that the Thakur's friend, Vikram Singh Thakur, would be coming to the city. The Thakur has ordered Champa to tell Kalwa, a cycle rickshaw driver, to pick Vikram Singh from the station. Champa and Sugni rush to the spot where Kalwa parks his rickshaw. Champa gets worried as Kalwa was not present in the city and she wanted someone to pick Vikram Singh from the station. Sugni asks a shopkeeper to lend her his cycle rickshaw. Before leaving, Sugni tells Champa that she would bring Vikram Singh to the palace. Sugni quickly reaches the station and waits for the Vikram Singh to arrive. A traveler, who has just reached the village, asks Sugni whether she could drop him to Mohari. Sugni allows the traveler to sit in the rickshaw on a condition that she would compel him to stop if she finds Vikram Singh on her way. The traveler agrees. On their way to Mohari, Sugni enquires with the traveler why he came to the village. The traveler reads a board on his way and states that he was government official and was transferred to the village. Sugni spots a bullock cart wherein a man was traveling. Sugni believes that the man was Vikram Singh and so she apologizes to him. She forcibly takes the man's luggage and leads him to the rickshaw. Sugni gets irritated when she spots that the traveler was still sitting in the rickshaw.

Amrita, on the other hand, likes the lifestyle of the villagers and is looking forward to enjoy herself during her stay. At that moment, Rathu arrives and informs Aditya that Vikram Singh had sent him to pick him from the station. Aditya orders Rathu that he would drive home. He asks him to come to the mansion by himself. Sugni along with Chanda and her friends promote their stage show throughout the village. Sugni perches atop a hand cart while others push her around. On the way the car breaks down and Aditya and Amrita are forced to take a ride on cycle rickshaw. Aditya feels miserable while Amrita enjoys her journey. Sugni tells her friends that they had to return to the village. While pushing the cart in the other direction, the cart accidentally rolls down from the slope. Sugni notices a cycle rickshaw in the way and signals the passengers to move out of her way. Amrita and the driver manage to get down from the cycle, however Aditya remains back. The cart runs into the cycle and Aditya falls into a mud pit. Sugni falls on the other side of the road. Amrita, Sugni and her friends laugh on Aditya's condition. Aditya shouts at Sugni in English. Sugni utters words in a way which Aditya is unable to understand. Aditya believes Sugni was mad. He gets irritated when Sugni makes fun of him and addresses him as Kamal Singh. Lagariya rages at Tinkle as she had robbed money from her purse. Gulabiya stops Lagariya from hitting Tinkle. Tinkle confesses that she robbed money and gave it to Sugni.
