Constructed in the 14th century and the largest of the Five Grand Palaces, Gyeongbokgung is largely considered to be the most beautiful palace in Seoul. While much of Gyeongbokgung palace was destroyed during the Japanese occupation, an effort to restore the palace has been underway since 1990, including the restoration of Heungnyemun Gate. When at the gate, keep your camera handy for the changing of the guard ceremony, a unique cultural event where guardsmen perform in brilliantly colored traditional costumes. Also within the palace grounds is the National Folk Museum of Korea, which features over 98,000 artifacts and presents a thorough overview of the history and culture of Korea. With a variety of traditional cultural experiences, Gyeongbokgung Palace is a must-see when visiting Seoul.

Hey guys!
We’re back in Korea and we’ve just been relaxing and enjoying our time not wedding planning, haha :D
Thankfully all the wedding stuff went really smoothly and it ended up being an amazing day. We also had a blast in Japan on our ‘mini moon’ as you could probably tell from our videos ^^
It’s already June, and the days in Seoul are getting hottt! Even before we started our Youtube channel, Kyuho and I have always enjoyed traveling around fun/interesting places in Seoul, including the ‘touristy areas’ ^^ The weather was so beautiful today, so we popped into Gyeongbok Palace. This is probably our 4th time here, but I honestly never get sick of it. It’s so relaxing, beautiful, and only about $3 to get it. My favorite area at Gyeongbok Palace is definitely the beautiful pond filled with lily pads and koi at the very back, it's stunning!
We also did the spring/summer photoshoot for our very good friend who owns his own jewelery company in Seoul called ‘Bhavishya’ :D You can find out more about his company here: http://www.bvslook.com/
His cat, Darly was used in parts of the photoshoot which was so much fun (not so much for Kyuho, as he is extremely allergic to cats!). Darly is not your typical cat, because he actually LOVES being brought to new and unfamilar places ^^

Gyeongbokgung
Gyeongbokgung (Hangul: 경복궁; hanja: 景福宫), also known as Gyeongbokgung Palace or Gyeongbok Palace, was the main royal palace of the Joseon dynasty. Built in 1395, it is located in northern Seoul, South Korea. The largest of the Five Grand Palaces built by the Joseon dynasty, Gyeongbokgung served as the home of Kings of the Joseon dynasty, the Kings' households, as well as the government of Joseon.
Gyeongbokgung continued to serve as the main palace of the Joseon dynasty until the premises were destroyed by fire during the Imjin War and abandoned for two centuries. However, in the 19th century, all of the palace's 7,700 rooms were later restored under the leadership of Prince Regent Heungseon during the reign of King Gojong. Some 500 buildings were restored on a site of over 40 hectares. The architectural principles of ancient Korea were incorporated into the tradition and appearance of the Joseon royal court.
In the early 20th century, much of the palace was systematically destroyed by Imperial Japan. Since then, the walled palace complex is gradually being reconstructed to its original form. Today, the palace is arguably regarded as being the most beautiful and grandest of all five palaces. It also houses the National Palace Museum of Korea and the National Folk Museum within the premises of the complex.

We’re back in Korea and we’ve just been relaxing and enjoying our time not wedding planning, haha :D
Thankfully all the wedding stuff went really smoothly and it ended up being an amazing day. We also had a blast in Japan on our ‘mini moon’ as you could probably tell from our videos ^^
It’s already June, and the days in Seoul are getting hottt! Even before we started our Youtube channel, Kyuho and I have always enjoyed traveling around fun/interesting places in Seoul, including the ‘touristy areas’ ^^ The weather was so beautiful today, so we popped into Gyeongbok Palace. This is probably our 4th time here, but I honestly never get sick of it. It’s so relaxing, beautiful, and only about $3 to get it. My favorite area at Gyeongbok Palace is definitely the beautiful pond filled with lily pads and koi at the very back, it's stunning!
We also did the spring/summer photoshoot for our very good friend who owns his own jewelery company in Seoul called ‘Bhavishya’ :D You can find out more about his company here: http://www.bvslook.com/
His cat, Darly was used in parts of the photoshoot which was so much fun (not so much for Kyuho, as he is extremely allergic to cats!). Darly is not your typical cat, because he actually LOVES being brought to new and unfamilar places ^^

In ancient times, the royal guards of the Joseon Dynasty performed the task of guarding the entrance to the palace where the king ruled the country. Since 1469 the ceremony has taken place and the present reenactment ceremony began in 1996.

Christmas day in Seoul! We started the day off at Gyeongbokgung Palace, headed to Insadong for lunch and some shopping, dropped by Bukcheon village, and then headed to Samcheongdong for some more shopping and food ヾ(〃^∇^)ﾉ more: Highlights: Gyeongbokgung Palace, royal guard changing ceremony, Insadong shopping district (Ssamziegil shopping complex is a must-visit for trinkets and poop-shaped bread), part of Bukcheon village, churros and shopping in Samcheongdong. Christmas day in Seoul! We started the day off at Gyeongbokgung Palace, headed to Insadong for lunch and some shopping, dropped by Bukcheon village, and then headed to Samcheongdong for some more shopping and food ヾ(〃^∇^)ﾉ more:
Highlights: Gyeongbokgung Palace, royal guard changing ceremony, Insadong shopping district (Ssamziegil shopping complex is a must-visit for trinkets and poop-shaped bread), part of Bukcheon village, churros and shopping in Samcheongdong.
Note: We don't recommend where we had lunch but there are plenty of other restaurants in Insadong so just look around online or go where you're craving the day off!

This video is part of a new travel vlog series chronicling my boyfriend's recent visit to South Korea.
He came for the holidays (December 15th to January 2nd) and stayed a total of 18 days. Within that time period I planned a full itinerary that got us from Seoul to Gwangju to Jeonju and then finally to Busan. I went to South Korea just for 5 days 3 nights and I’ve got very little time. The best and possible Itinerary that I could do for this time. Hoping have another chance to visit Korea once again to fulfill my curiousity and there was always something new to try to seek out. From huge markets, old villages, historical palaces, entertainment districts and shopping plazas.
Of course the difficulties that I found is language barrier. Unfortunately, Chinese language more acceptable rather that English but I loved how Korean people always keep trying to explained in English including body language.

Five Cool Facts About Seoul:
1. Seoul is home to a number of historic sites and monuments. In addition, the Seoul National Capital Area has four UNESCO World Heritage Sites. They are the Changdeokgung Palace Complex, the Hwaseong Fortress, the Jongmyo Shrine and the Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty.
2. The number “4″ is considered extremely unlucky, to the point where most buildings in Seoul do not have a 4th floor.
3. All South Korean roofs are curved at the ends giving the appearance of a smile.
