Julius Henry "Groucho" Marx (October 2, 1890 -- August 19, 1977) was an American comedian and film and television star. Groucho's three marriages all ended in divorce. His first wife was chorus girl Ruth Johnson. He was 29 and she 19 at the time of their wedding. The couple had two children, Arthur Marx and Miriam Marx. His second wife was Kay Marvis (m. 1945--51), née Catherine Dittig, former wife of Leo Gorcey. Groucho was 54 and Kay 21 at the time of their marriage. They had a daughter, Melinda Marx. His third wife was actress Eden Hartford. She was 24 when she married the 63-year-old Groucho.
During the early 1950s, Groucho described his perfect woman: "Someone who looks like Marilyn Monroe and talks like George S. Kaufman."
Often when the Marxes arrived at restaurants, there would be a long wait for a table. "Just tell the maître d' who we are," his wife would say. (In his pre-mustache days, he was rarely recognized in public.) Groucho would say, "OK, OK. Good evening, sir. My name is Jones. This is Mrs. Jones, and here are all the little Joneses." Now his wife would be furious and insist that he tell the maître d' the truth. "Oh, all right," said Groucho. "My name is Smith. This is Mrs. Smith, and here are all the little Smiths."
Similar anecdotes are corroborated by Groucho's friends, not one of whom went without being publicly embarrassed by Groucho on at least one occasion. Once, at a restaurant (the most common location of Groucho's antics), a fan came up to him and said, "Excuse me, but aren't you Groucho Marx?" "Yes," Groucho answered annoyedly. "Oh, I'm your biggest fan! Could I ask you a favor?" the man asked. "Sure, what is it?" asked the even-more annoyed Groucho. "See my wife sitting over there? She's an even bigger fan of yours than I am! Would you be willing to insult her?" Groucho replied, "Sir, if my wife looked like that, I wouldn't need any help thinking of insults!"
Groucho's son Arthur published a brief account of an incident that occurred when Arthur was a child. The family was going through customs and, while filling out a form, Groucho listed his name as "Julius Henry Marx" and his occupation as "smuggler." Thereafter, chaos ensued.
Later in life, Groucho would sometimes note to talk-show hosts, not entirely jokingly, that he was unable to actually insult anyone, because the target of his comment assumed it was a Groucho-esque joke and would laugh.
Despite his lack of formal education, he wrote many books, including his autobiography, Groucho and Me (1959) and Memoirs of a Mangy Lover (1963). He was personal friends with such literary figures as T. S. Eliot and Carl Sandburg. Much of his personal correspondence with those and other figures is featured in the book The Groucho Letters (1967) with an introduction and commentary on the letters written by Groucho, who donated his letters to the Library of Congress.
Irving Berlin quipped, "The world would not be in such a snarl, had Marx been Groucho instead of Karl." In his book The Groucho Phile, Marx says "I've been a liberal Democrat all my life", and "I frankly find Democrats a better, more sympathetic crowd.... I'll continue to believe that Democrats have a greater regard for the common man than Republicans do". Marx & Lennon: The Parallel Sayings was published in 2005; the book records similar sayings between Groucho Marx and John Lennon.

Lat
Datuk Mohammad Nor Khalid (Jawi: محمد نور خالد), more commonly known as Lat, (born 5 March 1951) is a Malaysian cartoonist. Winner of the Fukuoka Asian Culture Prize in 2002, Lat has published more than 20 volumes of cartoons since he was 13 years old. His works mostly illustrate Malaysia's social and political scenes, portraying them in a comedic light without bias. Lat's best known work is The Kampung Boy (1979), which is published in several countries across the world. In 1994, the Sultan of Perak bestowed the honorific title of datuk on Lat, in recognition of the cartoonist's work in helping to promote social harmony and understanding through his cartoons.
Born in a village, Lat spent his youth in the countryside before moving to the city at the age of 11. While in school, he supplemented his family's income by contributing cartoon strips to newspapers and magazines. He was 13 years old when he achieved his first published comic book, Tiga Sekawan (Three Friends Catch a Thief). After failing to attain the grades that were required to continue education beyond high school, Lat became a newspaper reporter. In 1974, he switched careers to be an editorial cartoonist. His works, reflecting his view about Malaysian life and the world, are staple features in national newspapers such as New Straits Times and Berita Minggu. He adapted his life experiences and published them as his autobiographies, The Kampung Boy and Town Boy, telling stories of rural and urban life with subtle comparisons between the two.

The Hunchback of Notre-Dame
The Hunchback of Notre-Dame (French: Notre-Dame de Paris) is a French Romantic novel by Victor Hugo published in 1831. The title refers to the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, on which the story is centered, and the true protagonist of the story Esméralda. English translator Frederic Shoberl named the novel "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" in 1833 because at the time, Romantic novels were more popular than Romance novels in England. The story is set in Paris, France in the Late Middle Ages, during the reign of Louis XI (1461–1483).
Background
Victor Hugo began writing Notre-Dame de Paris in 1829, largely to make his contemporaries more aware of the value of the architecture, which was neglected and often destroyed to be replaced by new buildings, or defaced by replacement of parts of buildings in a newer style. For instance, the medieval stained glass panels of Notre-Dame de Paris had been replaced by white glass to let more light into the church. This explains the large descriptive sections of the book, which far exceed the requirements of the story. A few years earlier, Hugo had already published a paper entitled Guerre aux Démolisseurs (War to the Demolishers) specifically aimed at saving Paris' medieval architecture. The agreement with his original publisher, Gosselin, was that the book would be finished that same year, but Hugo was constantly delayed due to the demands of other projects. In the summer of 1830 Gosselin demanded that Hugo complete the book by February 1831. Beginning in September 1830, Hugo worked nonstop on the project thereafter. The book was finished six months later.

Groucho Marx
Julius Henry "Groucho" Marx (October 2, 1890 – August 19, 1977) was an American comedian and film and television star. He was known as a master of quick wit and is widely considered one of the best comedians of the modern era. His rapid-fire, often impromptu delivery of innuendo-laden patter earned him many admirers and imitators.
He made 13 feature films with his siblings the Marx Brothers, of whom he was the third-born. He also had a successful solo career, most notably as the host of the radio and television game show You Bet Your Life.
His distinctive appearance, carried over from his days in vaudeville, included quirks such as an exaggerated stooped posture, glasses, cigar, and a thick greasepaint mustache and eyebrows. These exaggerated features resulted in the creation of one of the world's most ubiquitous and recognizable novelty disguises, known as "Groucho glasses": a one-piece mask consisting of horn-rimmed glasses, large plastic nose, bushy eyebrows and mustache.

Dominik zebrał pierwszą grupę zapaleńców Słowa, którzy chcieli głosić Ewangelię wszędzie, gdzie się da, jedną z najbardziej przełomowych decyzji jaką podjął było zakładanie z nimi klasztorów w wielkich miastach, w ośrodkach uniwersyteckich, gdzie bracia mieli się uczyć i z których mieli rozsypać się po całym świecie.
W czasie kiedy życie zakonne było skoncentrowane w klasztorach odseparowanych od świata, gdzie panowała cisza i atmosfera modlitewnego skupienia, pomysł założenia domu w samym środku studenckiego harmidru i światowego życia mógł wydawać się co najmniej absurdalny.
Ale taki właśnie jest dominikański pomysł na zakonne życie i głoszenie - zapalać światło w mroku wielkich metropolii, tam, gdzie ciemność gonitwy życia nie pozwala dostrzec Bożej obecności. W kulturze i sztuce, którymi żyje człowiek znaleźć ślady Jego obecności i prowadzić ludzi do spotkania z Nim pośrodku ich często nieznośnie zabieganego życia. Pokazać im ścieżkę do źródła Życia, które nie znajduje się w niedostępnych, dalekich krainach świata, ale tuż obok, pod nosem, w samym środku ich egzystencji.
Właśnie dlatego w 800 lecie powstania naszego Zakonu chcielibyśmy się spotkać ze wszystkimi, którzy tylko będą chcieli przyjąć nasze zaproszenie w środku wielkiego miasta, żeby zapalić tam Światło. Zaprosiliśmy różnych znanych artystów, aby z nimi mówić i śpiewać o Bogu.
Chcemy dominikańskim zwyczajem głosić Słowo i zrobimy to z rozmachem przepowiadając jedno kazanie na kilkadziesiąt gardeł.
Chcemy, żeby wszyscy, którzy zaszczycą nas swoją obecnością nie byli tylko biernymi słuchaczami i uczestnikami, dlatego chcielibyśmy pobić wspólnie rekord Guinnessa w ilości osób rozmawiających w jednym czasie i jednym miejscu o Bogu – przydałoby nas się parę ładnych tysięcy.
A nade wszystko chcemy uwielbić Boga za Dominika i jego genialny pomysł głoszenia Słowa, czyli tak naprawdę chcemy oddać chwałę Bogu samemu, który jest nieskończenie dobry, płodny i twórczy w swoich dziełach.
Będzie nam bardzo miło jeśli tego wieczoru, 28 maja 2016 roku, dołączysz do nas w Warszawie na placu obok kościoła św. Dominika na Służewie. Najserdeczniej zapraszamy - dołącz do naszego świętowania, spotkaj się z nami, wyśpiewaj z nami chwałę Najwyższego Boga.

Chcemy dominikańskim zwyczajem głosić Słowo i zrobimy to z rozmachem przepowiadając jedno kazanie na kilkadziesiąt gardeł.
Chcemy, żeby wszyscy, którzy zaszczycą nas swoją obecnością nie byli tylko biernymi słuchaczami i uczestnikami, dlatego chcielibyśmy pobić wspólnie rekord Guinnessa w ilości osób rozmawiających w jednym czasie i jednym miejscu o Bogu – przydałoby nas się parę ładnych tysięcy.
A nade wszystko chcemy uwielbić Boga za Dominika i jego genialny pomysł głoszenia Słowa, czyli tak naprawdę chcemy oddać chwałę Bogu samemu, który jest nieskończenie dobry, płodny i twórczy w swoich dziełach.

How can the actress work for so long with the director who doesn't pay?
A: Art is not only about money.
Whats the deal about Malga? What skills are required to get on her team?
A: She likes people I think. These kind of persona surround themselves by lots of people they find interesting in some ways. She gives space for people to be themselves.
How did u meet Malga Kubiak?
A: We met in a cult club in Warsaw Le Madame
How did u see her? What was your first impression?
A: The first time I saw her in that club on some party I thought ,what a bitch she must be, But that was before talking to her. After some conversation about the workshop I was surprised that she is very sweet person indeed.
How did it all begun?
A: Malga who just came from Sweden started organizing actor,s workshops in that club for a few of my friends. I talked to her and joined that program. It was fascinating and engaged a lot of emotions. At that time our friendship began.
What was your relation at the very start?
A:There was a lot talking about life and art, exchanging of ideas, opinions etc. Malga has very curious mind and I enjoyed spending time in her company. We used to walk in parks and discuss discuss.. She asked me sometimes to imagine some situation and act it in that public area. I liked her looks which was not typical for a Polish woman. Also I considered her a very gentle and sensitive person. I thought that she was an extraordinary person living an untypical kind of life, like someone you would meet in New York rather than Warsaw.
How come she asked u to join her team, her art work?
A:Probably she felt good about me.
What was your own situation at this point?
A:I was just doing my art, which was painting mostly at that time.
Did she train u?
A:Yes, this workshop was about that.
What was your actress experience?
A:I played in some short movies in my friends projects, mostly in Maksym Matuszewski,s ones.
What did u do on the workshop? And for how long?
A: We were practicing some behavior joining the team together, which looked like some witch rituals, some kind of putting together of energies. But mostly it was acting various emotional situations from our lives. Without Malga it was 3 of us, which made it quite an intimate story.
How come u traveled together in a very quick car trip to Paris and back?
A:Malga wanted to sing in clubs in Berlin, Amsterdam and Paris with DJ Martinez. Actually one more driver was necessary, as only one person had a driving license. But seriously I thing we just liked each other and enjoyed the company.
Did u ever hear about her before u met her?
A:No
How did u see her when u finally met?
A:Very interesting, unusual, witchy, arty..
What was this project game/girl movie about?
A:Maybe about mixing ,reality, and the imaginative world. About living fast in a community, about bands, romance, hitting the road. Like ,everything is possible,.
How was the Denmark excursion?
A:Oh it was great, summertime, an interesting project, a great group of people with a plan to spend creative time together. Malga payed our petrol bills and arranged a house on the seashore, where a lot of scenes were shot, as well as on the beach. The water was cold but pleasant, refreshing. We swam a lot in the waves, wandered at night in the forest.
Why did she ask just u?
A:I,m not sure what it means ,just you,. There were plenty of people engaged somehow in that project. There were about 11 actors, as everybody played, cameramen also and assistants. Some girl cooked us delicious dinners, and did make-up and blood effects too. It was like filming and living in a crazy community at the same time. A lot of people didn't know each other before, and then we spent over a week in the same house, acting, eating, partying, sleeping. There was some flirting actions, arguments and stuff. Which probably is unavoidable in a group of people intensively doing such a thing. There were moments of great laughter and fun and also days when some tension was hanging around.
Did u really shoot 58 scenes in 1 week?
A:Probably, I wasn't counting.

Der wissenschaftliche Film “Was ist eine Person? Betrachtungen im
Lichte moderner Reproduktionsmedizin und Biotechnologie”, in welchem
Seine Heiligkeit, der XIV. Dalai Lama sowie der Philosoph Peter
Singer, der Soziologe Günter Dux, der Neurowissenschaftler Gerhard
Roth, die Primatenforscherin Julia Fischer, der Psychologe Helmut
Prior, der Moraltheologe Eberhard Schockenhoff, der Ökonom Bruno Frey
und die Reproduktionsmediziner Carlos Sueldo und Mike Macnamee zu Wort
kommen, beschreibt neben der Geschichte des Personbegriffs die
zeitgenössische bioethische Debatte.
Hier geht es um die generelle Frage, ab wann Leben als schützenwertes
personales Leben bezeichnet werden kann und ob hinreichend gültige
Kriterien zur Bestimmung von personalem Leben formuliert werden
können. Ob dieser personale Status auch auf nichtmenschliche Wesen
ausgedehnt werden kann wird ebenso kontrovers beleuchtet wie die
Frage, ob das Anwenden biotechnologischer Möglichkeiten wie der
humanen embryonalen Stammzellforschung oder Diagnoseverfahren wie der
Präimplantationsdiagnostik (PID) moralisch gerechtfertigt werden kann.
Zusätzlich findet eine Skizzerung der in der bioethischen Diskussion
häufig verwendeten Theorie der Nützlichkeit, dem Utilitarismus, und
damit der Frage, was Glück sein kann, statt.
