Dennis Arthur Williams is a former New Zealand rugby league international.
Williams was a Te Atatu Roosters player in the Auckland Rugby League competition. In 1977 he won the Rothville Trophy as player of the year and in 1980 he was the competitions leading goalscorer. In 1981 he again was the leading goalscorer, despite switching to local rivals the Glenora Bears.
Williams celebrated his 18th birthday with a try in his first Test match against Great Britain during the New Zealand Kiwis' successful tour on 1971. Williams also represented New Zealand Māori.
On the 21 June 1977, Williams captained Auckland to an upset win over Australia. The squad went on a grand slam, defeating the touring French and British sides in the same year.
In 1995 Williams was inducted by the New Zealand Rugby League as one of the inaugural Legends of League.
Dennis Williams is a Canadian ice hockey coach currently in charge of the Bloomington Thunder. Williams was the interim head coach at his alma mater, Bowling Green, after the sudden resignation of Scott Paluch.
Bigfoot (also known as Sasquatch) is the name given to a mythological simian,ape-, or hominid-like creature that is said to inhabit forests, mainly in the Pacific Northwest. In North American folklore, Bigfoot is usually described as a large, hairy, bipedal humanoid. The term sasquatch is an Anglicized derivative of the Halkomelem word sásq'ets.
Scientists discount the existence of Bigfoot and consider it to be a combination of folklore, misidentification, and hoax, rather than a living animal, because of the lack of physical evidence and the large numbers of creatures that would be necessary to maintain a breeding population. Occasional new reports of sightings sustain a small group of self-described investigators. Most reports of sightings are attributed to being various animals, particularly black bears.
Bigfoot is described as a large, hairy, muscular, bipedal ape-like creature, roughly 2–3 metres (6 ft 7 in–9 ft 10 in) covered in hair described as black, dark brown, or dark reddish.
The characters in the Canadian science fiction-fantasy television series Sanctuary are predominantly "abnormals": advanced humans or creatures, and the show centers on bringing other abnormals to the Sanctuary in the fictional Old City, for the purpose of protecting the public, as well as the abnormals themselves. Most of the Sanctuary team are abnormals, despite looking human: Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping) has longevity, John Druitt (Christopher Heyerdahl) and Ashley Magnus (Emilie Ullerup) can teleport, and Henry Foss (Ryan Robbins) is a werewolf. Even Will Zimmerman (Robin Dunne) was twice turned to an abnormal temporarily: firstly in the episode "Warriors", then later in the episode "Metamorphosis". Several of the actors who play their respective characters have been nominated for Leo and Constellation Awards.
Doctor Helen Magnus, played by Amanda Tapping is a 162-year-old teratologist (born August 27, 1850 and sent back in time 113 years.) and head of the Sanctuary in Old City. She was born in England during the Victorian era, and was one of the first female doctors and scientists of the Royal College of Surgeons in London. Her father, Gregory Magnus, taught her about his private research of studying and helping the Abnormals. She later builds the Sanctuary Network in Old City using her father's designs to accommodate the Abnormals. On one hunt, she saves Will Zimmerman during his childhood from a deadly Abnormal, though she is unable to rescue his mother. Decades later, she recruits Will as her protege.
Bigfoot is a 1970 independently made low budget horror science fiction film produced by Anthony Cardoza and directed by Robert F. Slatzer. The film stars a few well-known actors (and family namesakes) in the cast: John Carradine, Chris Mitchum, Joi Lansing, Doodles Weaver and Lindsay Crosby. The low-budget film attempts to transform the Pacific Northwest Sasquatch man-beast into an old-fashioned movie monster, ala King Kong (as a quote on the original movie poster proudly trumpets).
Fast-talking Jasper B. Hawks (John Carradine) drives through a forest with his sidekick, Elmer Briggs (John Mitchum), while pilot Joi Landis (Joi Lansing) flies a single engine small aircraft over the same area. Joi’s engine conks out, so she parachutes to safety. Safely on the ground, she encounters a Bigfoot that has emerged from the woods to attack her.
Laconic biker Rick (Christopher Mitchum) rolls into the woods with his girlfriend, Chris (Judy Jordan) who stumbles onto a Bigfoot burial ground, and then is also under attack by a Bigfoot.
