Contradictory reports regarding DNA tests results for Prince’s alleged secret son are sweeping the Net. Since the news was leaked by anonymous sources and no official reports have been made, the public, the media, and Prince’s fans, family, and friends are seeking clarification. Citing a who has reportedly seen court documents that the presiding judge ordered to be sealed, the Los Angeles Times stated just hours ago on June 22, that DNA test results show Colorado prison inmate Carlin Q. Williams is not Prince’s biological son.
Celebrity gossip site TMZ.com was the first to report the news on June 22. Their information came from sources with direct knowledge of the case who said the DNA test returned a 0.0% chance that Williams was biologically-related to Prince in any way.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Carlin Williams’ mother Marsha Henson, Colorado’s 9news.com reported on June 22, that Henson was under the impression that her son’s DNA tests were positive and was unaware of any reports to the contrary. Henson scoffed at the idea that the DNA test could be accurate, ended the conversation, and referred additional questions to her attorney.
Shortly after Prince’s death when it was reveal that no will could be found, Henson submitted a detailed affidavit stating that her son, now in his 30’s was the product of a one night stand she had with Prince in 1976.
On June 20, RadarOnline reported that the DNA results for Carlin Williams were in and that a spokespersons from the office of Williams attorney was inviting the media to bid on an exclusive interview with Williams’ mother. Based on the flurry of activity from the attorneys office, and reports that the spokesperson placed a value of between $400,000 and$500,000 on the information Williams mother would reveal, RadarOnline suggested that DNA test results proved Carlin Williams was indeed Prince’s biological son.
The stakes are high because if Williams is Prince’s son, he will inherit the Purple One’s entire multimillion dollar estate and Prince’s sister and half-siblings will inherit nothing at all. If it turns out that Williams is not Prince’s biological son, Prince’s sister and half-siblings will inherit equal shares of his $300,000 estate.
The next probate hearing in the Prince estate case is scheduled for Monday, June 27. Unless an official announcement is made, we may have to wait until then to find out the truth.
