Universalism is a religious, theological, and philosophical concept with universal application or applicability. Universalist doctrines consider all people in their formation.
In terms of religion, in a broad sense, universalism claims that religion is a universal human quality. This can be contrasted with non-universalist religions. Religion in this context is defined as a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.
In some sects of Christianity, universal reconciliation is the doctrine that all sinful and alienated human souls — because of divine love and mercy — will ultimately be reconciled to God.Unitarian Universalism believes that religion is a universal human quality, emphasizing the universal principles of most religions and accepting other religions in an inclusive manner, believing in a universal reconciliation between humanity and the divine. Universalism has had a strong influence on modern Hinduism, in turn influencing western modern spirituality.

He is also the author of the New York Times bestseller Love Wins and the writer and narrator of a series of spiritual short films called NOOMA. Bell is the son of U.S. District Judge Robert Holmes Bell, who was appointed to the federal bench by Ronald Reagan.
After graduating from high school, Bell attended Wheaton College in Illinois. While at Wheaton, he roomed with Ian Eskelin of All Star United. With friends Dave Houk, Brian Erickson, Steve Huber and Chris Fall, he formed the indie rock band, "_ton bundle", which was reminiscent of bands such as R.E.M. and Talking Heads. Wheaton College was also where Bell met his wife, Kristen. The band _ton bundle started to gain some local fame and was even asked to perform at large events, but when Bell was struck with viral meningitis these plans fell through.

A demonic and dangerous heresy is spreading like a virus. David Diga Hernandez confronts and disarms the heresy of Universalism (Inclusion), using Biblical and language references. 12:00 Misconception #1 The early Church didn’t believe in Hell as we teach it today. 23:52 Misconception #2 If you study the Bible in its original languages, you’ll find that Hell is not really “forever”. 34:43 Misconception #3 The Bible doesn’t mention a literal Hell. 42:06 Misconception #4 Even if Hell is real and literal, it is temporary. 42:46 Misconception #5 Hell may be real, literal and eternal but nobody is going there. Salvation covers all no matter what. 48:27 - Misconception #6 A loving God wouldn’t send someone to an eternal Hell for living a temporary life of sin. Download David's Notes: Le...
Peter Bowden and the Rev. Amy Freedman explore Unitarian Universalism including common misconceptions people have about this popular liberal religion. ON DEMOGRAPHICS: At the time this video was made (2007) Unitarian Universalists were listed among the top 5 religions according to US Census data. Who are we, how did we get here, and how do we explain this place?
This is a radio debate between Dr. Spencer Ledbetter (Orthodoxy) and Bishop Carlton Pearson (Universalism) that I captured on a cassette tape player off of an AM radio station sometime between 2000 and 2003. Recently(2015) I found the cassette tapes of the debate in an old box of tapes. The audio is very poor and I have tried to edit them as best as I could. The last section is very poor audio quality but likely the best exchange between Ledbetter and Pearson.
David Platt, New York Times Best-Selling author of the book Radical: Taking Back Your Faith From The American Dream, talks about the controversy from the book Love Wins by Rob Bell which asserts that all people will eventually get to heaven. David responds to these assertions from India where he is surrounded by hundreds of millions of people that are either A) Going to be fine or B) Are going to Hell.
From Dan: How do you reconcile your beliefs that all will eventually be saved with the scriptures that seem to indicate that not all will accept salvation, specifically those in Revelation 20:14-15 (those whose names are not in book of life and go to lake of fire/second death) and Matt. 7:13-14 ("broad is path to destruction...many take it; narrow is way to life, few find it")? Thanks!
