To get to these caves you have to go from Venilale towards Viqueque. Soon after Ossu you'll see a roadside sign pointing left to Wailakurini Village Hotel. Then turn left and go up in the mountains passing by the hotel and following the main road. It's hard to get lost there. Then just ask locals to show you the house where lives the man responsible for assisting tourists. The entry fee is 3$ and 4$ is the guide who will guide you up to and inside the caves. The caves are of middle size without any particular sightseeings or animals living there, so it's not worth a special visit but if you're passing by Loihuno you can do it - it won't take long since the caves are pretty close and the trail up there through the jungle is quite enjoyable.
You might ask local people for home stay accommodation to explore the nearby area for a couple of days and maybe climb some mountains, but I don't recommend to stay at that shitty ridiculously overpriced "hotel" (more like a guest house) Wailakurini.

I was warned that if my bike gets broken there's no chance to get out of the south coast, but it's not quite true. Although the traffic is really very scarce in comparison with North Coast (Baucau, Liquica, Dili), there are trucks passing once in a while. And there are villages on the way. I had a flat tire once and managed to find a new one and people with instruments who changed it for me.
The biggest challenge in the districts is food. There are very few places where you can have good hot freshly cooked food. Your only option might often be instant noodles PopMie.

Viqueque
Viqueque (Tetum: Vikeke) is a city in the south-east of East Timor, 183 km from Dili, the national capital. Viqueque is the capital of Viqueque District and Viqueque Subdistrict, in the eastern part of the country with five subdistricts under its control, they are: Uatu-Lari, Uatu-Carbau, Viqueque, Lacluta and Ossu. The city has a population of 6,859 (2015), the subdistrict has 20,640 (2004), the district 65,245 inhabitants (2004).

i/ˌiːst ˈtiːmɔːr/) or Timor-Leste (/tiˈmɔːr ˈlɛʃteɪ/), Tetum: Timór Lorosa'e, officially the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste (Portuguese: República Democrática de Timor-Leste, Tetum: Repúblika Demokrátika Timór-Leste), is a sovereign state in Maritime Southeast Asia. It comprises the eastern half of the island of Timor, the nearby islands of Atauro and Jaco, and Oecusse, an exclave on the northwestern side of the island, within Indonesian West Timor. The country's size is about 15,410 km2 (5,400 sq mi).
East Timor was colonised by Portugal in the 16th century, and was known as Portuguese Timor until November 1975, when the Revolutionary Front for an Independent East Timor (FRETILIN) declared the territory's independence. Nine days later, it was invaded and occupied by Indonesia and was declared Indonesia's 27th province the following year. The Indonesian occupation of East Timor was characterised by a highly violent decades-long conflict between separatist groups (especially FRETILIN) and the Indonesian military.

Discover Tiris Maunmera - spectacular waterfall near Laulara, Dare in Timor Leste.
I found this place by chance - just made a right turn from the main road to Aileu and went on straight until the last village where the road ends and where you should park the bike and walk down through the village along a narrow winding trail with breathtaking views. I took a local boy as a guide for 5$ and he was very helpful because the trail was quite difficult and sometimes confusing. But it was worth the pain in my thighs. The waterfall is beautiful even though it wasn't rainy season and the river wasn't full. There was a group of young TImorese arrived from Dili that were a bit too noisy. I've made all this way not to listen to shitty music from shitty loudspeakers of their shitty phones accompanied by random bursts of yelling. So my advice - go on week days.

Climbing Matebian 2316 m. (Matebean Mane), Baguia - second highest mountain in Timor Leste.
It's a sacred mountain for locals and very important for the whole nation because during the Indonesian occupation Timorese insurgents fighting against the Indonesian government were hiding in these mountains under the command of the current president of the country Taur Matan Ruak. The tour guide was a scam. Charged me 40$ which is crazy for Timor, considering that I paid 15$ for climbing Ramelau, it is a low rainy season and the last tourists he saw were in October. Well this fucker doesn't deserve to have more tourists. And his English is at zero level. On the way back the guide threw away an empty plastic water bottle straight in the grass. I found this place by chance - just made a right turn from the main road to Aileu and went on straight until the last village where the road ends and where you should park the bike and walk down through the village along a narrow winding trail with breathtaking views. I took a local boy as a guide for 5$ and he was very helpful because the trail was quite difficult and sometimes confusing.
But it was worth the pain in my thighs. The waterfall is beautiful even though it wasn't rainy season and the river wasn't full. There was a group of young TImorese arrived from Dili that were a bit too noisy. I've made all this way not to listen to shitty music from shitty loudspeakers of their shitty phones accompanied by random bursts of yelling.
So my advice - go on week days.

It's a sacred mountain for locals and very important for the whole nation because during the Indonesian occupation Timorese insurgents fighting against the Indonesian government were hiding in these mountains under the command of the current president of the country Taur Matan Ruak.
The tour guide was a scam. Charged me 40$ which is crazy for Timor, considering that I paid 15$ for climbing Ramelau, it is a low rainy season and the last tourists he saw were in October. Well this fucker doesn't deserve to have more tourists. And his English is at zero level.
On the way back the guide threw away an empty plastic water bottle straight in the grass. If this is such a sacred mountain, then have some respect. Disgusting. Don't use this guide.
The weather was very kind to me again and in the middle of the rainy season gave me a clear sunny day! This climb turned out to be much more difficult than I expected. On the way up I had 2 or 3 times of weakness when I wanted to turn back.
Oh! And there's sooo much mint growing on the slopes. The whole mountain literally smells minty and you breathe in this fantastic air.
This mountain is much farther from Dili than Ramelau, more hardly accessible with no proper accommodation nearby. They proposed me to stay in the village near Matebean, but the houses there have neither bathrooms nor toilets. Very basic conditions. I also didn't want to stay for the night there because local young guys showed me cut throat moves with their hands when they saw me arrive. Fuck those stupid villagers.
The best and only option remains in Baguia, where you have a chance to get a simple but cozy room at the church. Just go to church and ask for Mana Martina (works at the church) who alone does more for the tourism development than all the local communities, guides and authorities taken together. The most welcoming lady.
