Medieval Europe: A Complete Overview
Medieval Europe is a feature length journey through the Middle Ages! It is divided into 5 major timeframes. The Early Middle Ages picks up after the fall of Rome, and deals with the rise of monasticism, the Carolingians, Magyar and Viking invasions, and the feudal and manor systems. Then we head into the High Middle Ages, with a glimpse at village and city life, as well as a tour of each main region, beginning with England. This is followed by a quick overview of the Crusades and religious orders, and then the Late Middle Ages, going over the Black Death, Hundred Years War, and Western Schism. Europe recovers during the Italian Renaissance, as we take a look at the famous artists and humanists of the period, before another short tour of where each region stands as the Medieval age ends. What Life Was Like In Medieval Castles
Despite what pop culture might have you believe, living in a medieval castle wasn't all that glamorous. If you were one of the lucky ruling class, you got some wine or the occasional hot bath. But with the lack of plumbing, castles smelled pretty ripe. Not to mention rats. So many rats. Today we're getting real about what living in a medieval castle was like, and it's not that pretty.

What If You Lived During the Middle Ages?
Have you ever been curious about Medieval life? Would you travel back in time if you could? Do you think you would enjoy it? How long would you last? Hear ye, hear ye! The Middle Ages sucked! After 200 years of peace and prosperity under 'Pax Romana,' the Roman Empire fell into crisis and decline. Thus began the Middle Ages, more commonly known as the Dark Ages; beginning towards the end of the 5th century and lasting until the start of the Renaissance in the 14th century.

One of the least understood periods of European history occurred between the 6th century and the 14th or 15th century (depending on which historian you ask). Commonly called the Middle Ages, this was a time period of extreme change for Europe, beginning with the fall of the Western Roman Empire. To a continent that had seen a drastic shift in the power structure, the world seemed to be particularly harsh. Rome had been a major player across Europe for well over a millennium. Then it was gone.

The Medieval ages
Hello friends, welcome to a new Happy Learning Video.
Today, we’re going to get to know the era of castles, kings and queens, noblemen and vassals, today, we’re going to get to know the Medieval ages.
Medieval ages, also known as Medieval times, commenced in 476, with the fall of the Roman empire, and finished in 1492 with the discovery of America.
In Medieval Times, the great territory that was dominated by The Roman Empire in Europe, broke in different ways, and in many of them, a monarchy was born, which is the form of government where a king or a queen are in power.
Queens and Kings had absolute power, and they received their authority because of the feudal system. This system, feudalism was based on a pyramidal system. The King was the most powerful of all, he was at the very top, noblemen were under him, formed by Counts, Duques, Barons and other gentlemen and ladies that controlled territories. Under the noblemen, there were vassals, who worked and lived in the lands dominated by the noblemen, and they gave part of their work in exchange for protection and help.
When they were attacked by enemies, vassals would run to the noble castle. Vassals were farmers, shapers, craftsmen and soldiers, who were considered free men. In the most lower part of the pyramid, the poor and the slaves could be found, who were often war prisoners and would do the toughest jobs, in exchange for nothing.
Christianity was the religion that dominated Europe during The Medieval Ages and its power was tremendous. Only the Pope in Rome was on top of the Kings. The Pope acted like another King; he controlled territories, formed alliances and declared war. The most important wars were the crossed ones where the European Knights and their troops tried to dominate the tierra Santa which was dominated by Muslims. Islam was the other great religion during this time, and the confrontation between Muslims and Christians was constant.
Although it is usually said that Medieval times were dark times,in reality it is very different. In monasteries, monks conserved and desarrollaron olden times’ knowledge and the first universities in Europe were established during this period in history.
The truth is, that the Medieval ages is a fascinating era in history. Don’t you think?
Goodbye!
