Mirko Valdifiori (born 21 April 1986) is an Italian footballer who plays for Serie B team Empoli.
Born in Russi, Emilia–Romagna, Valdifiori started his professional career at Cesena. After Cesena relegated to Lega Pro Prima Divisione, in June 2008 he left for Serie B team Empoli. Since 2009 season he played more regularly. He partnered with Francesco Marianini, Davide Moro in 2009–10 Coppa Italia, a 4312 formation. After Moro left the club, he partnered with Ighli Vannucchi (attacking midfielder) and Marianini in 433 formation.
In the next season, in although Marianini left the club, Moro returned to Empoli. New head coach Alfredo Aglietti used Gianluca Musacci or Roberto Soriano to partner with Moro as the new defensive midfielders in a 4231 formation, which he only started in round 3. He returned to the starting line-up on 25 September (round 6), replacing absented Moro. Since then he became a regular in the starting line-up except round 9, as the coach usually used 3 defensive midfielders (in 4321 formation) or 2 defensive midfielders (442 or 4231 formation).
