Seoul is a popular tourist destination for foreigners and a major cultural hub in Asia... but the Korean government is trying to diversify its attractions by introducing a variety of unique tourist programs.
Kim Ji-yeon followed some tourists traveling to some of Korea's provincial regions for this report.
Korea has launched a bus service catering to foreign tourists to promote tourism in the country's provincial regions.
Organized by the Visit Korea Committee, the K-Travel Bus package offers convenient services at a low price.
For an overnight trip, packages can range from 150 to 170 U.S. dollars per person.
This group of ten tourists had the chance to visit Korea's southern city of Tongyeong.
"This is my first time in Tongyeong and it's what I felt in Busan. I fell in love right away. Everything has been prepared for you, the food, the transportation and everything even the guide is also there to help you with the explanation if there's no English translation. It's great."
"One of the best things about this program is that we are able to bond with other foreign tourists during the trip. I would definitely recommend the bus travel program to acquaintances back in my home country."
Another rising trend in the local tourism sector that is attracting large groups of foreigners ...is "incentive travel" in which foreign companies send employees on vacation to Korea as a reward for their hard work.
"Six-thousand visitors from China, the largest number of tourists to visit Korea at a time, have been divided into groups to see this tourist attraction in Song-do, Incheon city."
Attracting incentive travel is a major focus for the local tourism sector due to potentially
huge profitability for the regions.
"The 6-thousand Chinese tourists visiting as a result of incentive travel is estimated to generate 10-point-3-million U.S. dollars for the city of Incheon. It also helps boost the image of the city as a tourist destination... and offers foreigners another destination besides the traditional tourist regions of Jeju Island and the capital Seoul."
To attract large numbers of tourists like Incheon has... the professor says that provincial cities need to devise ways to accommodate tens of thousands of tourists at a time and provide large venues for recreation as well as dining options.
The professor also says there's a need for better cultural content and exhibition programs that are unique to each region.

Typhoon-force winds and rain in the forecast for Jeju and other southern coastal regions.
Up to 200 millimeters of precipitation is expected in those areas through early tomorrow. Elsewhere across the nation, moderate showers should fall till early Tuesday afternoon.
Warm, summer-like temperatures were felt earlier today, however, the onset of rain and strong gusts will cause the mercury to drop. The capital region will be about 10 degrees lower and much breezier Tuesday compared to today's daytime high.
So let's move on to tomorrow's readings.
Seoul kicks off at 15 degrees Celsius while Daejeon, Daegu, Gwangju, and Busan will wake up to a low of 16.
16 degrees Celsius will be the high for Seoul, while Busan and Jeju hit 22 and 21 degrees Celsius, but things will clear out by the mid afternoon.

Campaigning continues across Korea... with just eight days remaining before the nation heads to the polls to elect members of the 20th National Assembly.
Today, candidates and party leaders hit areas beyond Seoul,... with their eyes and hearts fixed on those swing voters.
Ji Myung-kil brings us to the campaign trail.
Ruling Saenuri Party chief Kim Moo-sung visited the central city of Daejeon and the country's administrative capital of Sejong,… a region where the conservative party's support has declined in the past two weeks.
The ruling party is aiming to hold on to its 146-seat majority in the 300-seat legislature, but a clear-cut victory will not be easy.
In Daejeon, Kim appealed to voters for their support.
"The Saenuri Party must win a majority to complete our reform policies. Then Korea can become an advanced nation."
The main opposition Minjoo Party of Korea's interim leader Kim Chong-in headed southwest to the cities of Asan and Cheonan in Chungcheongnam-do province.
In Asan, Kim again characterized the election as a referendum on the economic failures of the current administration and vowed to revitalize the economy, create jobs and reduce a growing socioeconomic gap.
"The Minjoo Party will protect people's livelihoods and help boost the middle class through strong economic policies."
The party hopes to hold on to its 102 seats and win at least another eight in the upcoming contest.
The recently-formed minor opposition People's Party focused on Gyeonggi-do province, with the goal of whipping up excitement among undecided voters.
Co-leader Ahn Cheol-soo spent the day north of Seoul in the city of Uijeongbu, promoting his call for an end to the two-party system.
"The two rival parties only fight. The People's Party has solutions for the country's livelihood issues."
The prospect of an opposition coalition has faded now that the National Election Commission has printed the ballots.
The candidates could still form alliances, but the names of their rivals will still appear on the ballot.
The idea to field single candidates was floated by the Minjoo Party but rejected by the People's Party, which claimed its liberal counterpart had no intention of joining hands on equal terms.

With just eight days to go until Koreans head to the polls for this year's general election, the candidates are out in crucial swing regions trying to win support.
Outside of Korea, overseas voting has come to an end and fisherman out at sea have just started faxing in their ballots.
Shin Se-min reports.
There's not much time left for Korea's political parties to win support from voters.
After crisscrossing Seoul and regions outside the capital over the weekend,… party leaders and candidates are campaigning in Gyeonggi-do and the central and southwest parts of Chungcheong-do provinces on Tuesday.
Both regions are considered crucial because they have not shown a clear political affiliation in previous parliamentary elections.

With the parties hard at work, voting for overseas Koreans has come to an end, with Korea's National Election Commission announcing the end of the six-day early voting period.
Although no official data has been released yet,... the Korean Consulate in Los Angeles said that a little over 30-percent of eligible voters had cast ballots as of Sunday afternoon local time, one day before overseas voting ended.
Meanwhile, Korean fishermen at sea have the next four days to vote,... and they have one of the more interesting voting methods -- they'll be sending their ballots in via satellite-GPS-linked fax machines.

Snow reaching up to the hips fell in some parts of Korea's eastern coastal regions over the weekend.
Fortunately no deaths of injuries have been reported, but the sheer amount of snow is a major inconvenience to local residents.
Our Kwon So-a has the latest. Silent, but enormous.
Over one meter of snow has piled up over the last five days in parts of Korea's eastern coastal regions.
Currently there are heavy snow advisories and warnings in effect in most coastal areas of Gangwon-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do Provinces, and also in parts of Gyeongsangnam-do Province further south.
So far, the biggest accumulation has been recorded in Gangwon Province's Jinburyeong and Misiryeong which received 1-hundred-7 and 1-hundred-4 centimeters respectively, and over 90 centimeters has fallen in Gangneung.
The snow has caused widespread damage and inconvenience to local residents.
Mountainous areas have been blocked off, and traffic is being restricted.
More than 40 schools will be closed on Monday, while around a dozen have postponed entrance and graduation ceremonies.
Numerous facilities, especially greenhouses, have collapsed under the sheer weight of the snow.
"The tomatoes have all gone bad. Even if new tomatoes sprout in this cold, it will be impossible to restore the greenhouse and get them growing as before."
While residents are busy shoving snow off their cars and homes, government officials, police, and the military are helping out in the affected regions.
Korea isn't the only country in the region under a thick blanket of snow.
A snowstorm hit Japan over the weekend, resulting in 11 deaths in eight regions, most related in vehicle accidents.
Well over one thousand people were injured.
The first heavy snow warning in 13 years was issued in Tokyo, as 27 centimeters accumulated... the most in almost half a century.
Public transportation services were paralyzed, including at Tokyo's Haneda Airport, where along with the snow, gusty winds blew at up to 75 kilometers an hour.
As the low pressure system moves away from Korea, the country's eastern coastal regions are forecast to see more snow through this weekend.

South Korea maintains a cowardly and disturbing indifference to the large scale atrocities occurring in North Korea. In the 60 years since the division of the Korean Peninsula, South Korweakens have lost their sense of unity and urgency.
S. Korea has many military and non-military options if it wanted the Northern regime to collapse. It does not need to wait forever on the the toothless UN to solve South Korea's problem. Yet, the SK government and inhabitants are shockingly content with maintaining their segregation due to the massive financial costs of of a military operation and rebuilding the North's infrastructure and rehabilitating a mentally/physically stunted and uneducated population. Even though the reunification costs increases each year, the Holocaust stays alive because information connected South Korea ignores the suffering when they are morally responsible and fully capable of taking back their own country.
The S. Korean government downplays the N. Korean human rights abuses and over-hypes North Korea's military capacity to discourage citizens from talking about the necessity of freeing Korea. South Korea has 50 times greater GDP and generations more advance military, yet cowers to a starving, impoverished country with antique armaments.
N. Korean refugees are not warmly received in S. Korean society. South Korea does not voice opposition to China's illegal forced repatriation of N. Korean refugees, of which there may be over 100,000. When men, women and children are repatriated back to North Korea, they face cruel punishment and imprisonment, or if they had communicated with Westerners or religious groups, they are tortured and/or executed. Yet, this does not concern or alarm the prosperous South Koreans. North Korean lives are dispensable to them.
And this is all great news for tourists wanting to see a Stalinist/Maoist country in the 21st century. So no need to rush, you still have plenty of time to visit. The UN is powerless, and South Korea is spineless. If you want to help North Korean civilians, I recommend visiting HRNK (The Committee for Human Rights in North Korea) and the UK Manna Mission of Europe (which operates bakeries to feed NK children).

The South Korean government has called off or postponed officials' scheduled events in the Chinese cities near the China-North Korea border, over concerns of possible North Korean terrorism or abduction.
The Institute of Political Education for Unification under the Unification Ministry has canceled its plan to send some 60 senior ministry officials to a Chinese region adjacent to the China-North Korea border.
Other government agencies have also canceled or postponed their officials' trip to the Chinese areas.

While diplomatic efforts to resolve North Korean issues remain at a standstill， an expert has suggested the international community should look for a solution in some particular regions within the country.
In a lecture at the U.S. Congress on Wednesday，... Sokeel Park，... Head of research at the non－profit group Liberty in North Korea，... said Pyongyang in addition to Hyesan ， Hoeryong， Cheongjin were all places that could serve ″hotspots of change.″

Heavy rain and strong winds brought on by Typhoon Noul affected Korea′s southern regions overnight， especially Jeju Island.
More than one－hundred－30 flights going in and out of Jeju International Airport have been canceled since late Monday.
Dozens of accidents and flooding have been reported across the island，.. but no one was seriously hurt.
According to local authorities，... some 20 houses were flooded，... and two people had to be rescued from a swollen river.
A nine－ton boat anchored at Seogwipo Port also capsized due to high waves and strong winds.

Snow reaching up to the hips fell in some parts of Korea's eastern coastal regions over the weekend. Fortunately no deaths of injuries have been reported, but the sheer amount of snow is a major inconvenience to local residents. Our Kwon So-a has the latest. Silent, but enormous. Over one meter of snow has piled up over the last five days in parts of Korea's eastern coastal regions. Currently there are heavy snow advisories and warnings in effect in most coastal areas of Gangwon-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do Provinces, and also in parts of Gyeongsangnam-do Province further south. So far, the biggest accumulation has been recorded in Gangwon Province's Jinburyeong and Misiryeong which received 1-hundred-7 and 1-hundred-4 centimeters respectively, and over 90 centimeters has fallen in Gangneung. The snow has caused widespread damage and inconvenience to local residents. Mountainous areas have been blocked off, and traffic is being restricted. More than 40 schools will be closed on Monday, while around a dozen have postponed entrance and graduation ceremonies. Numerous facilities, especially greenhouses, have collapsed under the sheer weight of the snow. "The tomatoes have all gone bad. Even if new tomatoes sprout in this cold, it will be impossible to restore the greenhouse and get them growing as before." While residents are busy shoving snow off their cars and homes, government officials, police, and the military are helping out in the affected regions. Korea isn't the only country in the region under a thick blanket of snow. A snowstorm hit Japan over the weekend, resulting in 11 deaths in eight regions, most related in vehicle accidents. Well over one thousand people were injured. The first heavy snow warning in 13 years was issued in Tokyo, as 27 centimeters accumulated... the most in almost half a century. Public transportation services were paralyzed, including at Tokyo's Haneda Airport, where along with the snow, gusty winds blew at up to 75 kilometers an hour. As the low pressure system moves away from Korea, the country's eastern coastal regions are forecast to see more snow through this weekend. Kwon So-a, Arirang News. -

This was a propaganda tour that brings tourists to the country's showcase cities and fertile regions. These videos give people thinking about visiting NK an overview of what they will see there (A variety of tours are offered but itineraries are often similar). These videos are neither truncated nor narrated. Footage is exclusive to regions in N. Korea where the elite population resides. Therefore you will not see how the majority of N. Koreans live, with oppression, famine, lack of human rights and medical care, or the most unfortunate 150,000 political victims living in Soviet Gulag/Nazi Concentration style camps. South Korea maintains a cowardly and disturbing indifference to the large scale atrocities occurring in North Korea. In the 60 years since the division of the Korean Peninsula, South Korweakens have lost their sense of unity and urgency. S. Korea has many military and non-military options if it wanted the Northern regime to collapse. It does not need to wait forever on the the toothless UN to solve South Korea's problem. Yet, the SK government and inhabitants are shockingly content with maintaining their segregation due to the massive financial costs of of a military operation and rebuilding the North's infrastructure and rehabilitating a mentally/physically stunted and uneducated population. Even though the reunification costs increases each year, the Holocaust stays alive because information connected South Korea ignores the suffering when they are morally responsible and fully capable of taking back their own country. The S. Korean government downplays the N. Korean human rights abuses and over-hypes North Korea's military capacity to discourage citizens from talking about the necessity of freeing Korea. South Korea has 50 times greater GDP and generations more advance military, yet cowers to a starving, impoverished country with antique armaments. N. Korean refugees are not warmly received in S. Korean society. South Korea does not voice opposition to China's illegal forced repatriation of N. Korean refugees, of which there may be over 100,000. When men, women and children are repatriated back to North Korea, they face cruel punishment and imprisonment, or if they had communicated with Westerners or religious groups, they are tortured and/or executed. Yet, this does not concern or alarm the prosperous South Koreans. North Korean lives are dispensable to them. And this is all great news for tourists wanting to see a Stalinist/Maoist country in the 21st century. So no need to rush, you still have plenty of time to visit. The UN is powerless, and South Korea is spineless. If you want to help North Korean civilians, I recommend visiting HRNK (The Committee for Human Rights in North Korea) and the UK Manna Mission of Europe (which operates bakeries to feed NK children). -

Dozens of accidents and flooding have been reported across the island，.. but no one was seriously hurt. According to local authorities，... some 20 houses were flooded，... and two people had to be rescued from a swollen river. A nine－ton boat anchored at Seogwipo Port also capsized due to high waves and strong winds. Seoul is a popular tourist destination for foreigners and a major cultural hub in Asia... but the Korean government is trying to diversify its attractions by introducing a variety of unique tourist programs.
Kim Ji-yeon followed some tourists traveling to some of Korea's provincial regions for this report.
Korea has launched a bus service catering to foreign tourists to promote tourism in the country's provincial regions.
Organized by the Visit Korea Committee, the K-Travel Bus package offers convenient services at a low price.
For an overnight trip, packages can range from 150 to 170 U.S. dollars per person.
This group of ten tourists had the chance to visit Korea's southern city of Tongyeong.
"This is my first time in Tongyeong and it's what I felt in Busan. I fell in love right away. Everything has been prepared for you, the food, the transportation and everything even the guide is also there to help you with the explanation if there's no English translation. It's great."
"One of the best things about this program is that we are able to bond with other foreign tourists during the trip. I would definitely recommend the bus travel program to acquaintances back in my home country."
Another rising trend in the local tourism sector that is attracting large groups of foreigners ...is "incentive travel" in which foreign companies send employees on vacation to Korea as a reward for their hard work.
"Six-thousand visitors from China, the largest number of tourists to visit Korea at a time, have been divided into groups to see this tourist attraction in Song-do, Incheon city."
Attracting incentive travel is a major focus for the local tourism sector due to potentially
huge profitability for the regions.
"The 6-thousand Chinese tourists visiting as a result of incentive travel is estimated to generate 10-point-3-million U.S. dollars for the city of Incheon. It also helps boost the image of the city as a tourist destination... and offers foreigners another destination besides the traditional tourist regions of Jeju Island and the capital Seoul."
To attract large numbers of tourists like Incheon has... the professor says that provincial cities need to devise ways to accommodate tens of thousands of tourists at a time and provide large venues for recreation as well as dining options.
The professor also says there's a need for better cultural content and exhibition programs that are unique to each region.

Today, candidates and party leaders hit areas beyond Seoul,... with their eyes and hearts fixed on those swing voters.
Ji Myung-kil brings us to the campaign trail.
Ruling Saenuri Party chief Kim Moo-sung visited the central city of Daejeon and the country's administrative capital of Sejong,… a region where the conservative party's support has declined in the past two weeks.
The ruling party is aiming to hold on to its 146-seat majority in the 300-seat legislature, but a clear-cut victory will not be easy.
In Daejeon, Kim appealed to voters for their support.
"The Saenuri Party must win a majority to complete our reform policies. Then Korea can become an advanced nation."
The main opposition Minjoo Party of Korea's interim leader Kim Chong-in headed southwest to the cities of Asan and Cheonan in Chungcheongnam-do province.
In Asan, Kim again characterized the election as a referendum on the economic failures of the current administration and vowed to revitalize the economy, create jobs and reduce a growing socioeconomic gap.
"The Minjoo Party will protect people's livelihoods and help boost the middle class through strong economic policies."
The party hopes to hold on to its 102 seats and win at least another eight in the upcoming contest.
The recently-formed minor opposition People's Party focused on Gyeonggi-do province, with the goal of whipping up excitement among undecided voters.
Co-leader Ahn Cheol-soo spent the day north of Seoul in the city of Uijeongbu, promoting his call for an end to the two-party system.
"The two rival parties only fight. The People's Party has solutions for the country's livelihood issues."
The prospect of an opposition coalition has faded now that the National Election Commission has printed the ballots.
The candidates could still form alliances, but the names of their rivals will still appear on the ballot.
The idea to field single candidates was floated by the Minjoo Party but rejected by the People's Party, which claimed its liberal counterpart had no intention of joining hands on equal terms.

Meanwhile, Korean fishermen at sea have the next four days to vote,... and they have one of the more interesting voting methods -- they'll be sending their ballots in via satellite-GPS-linked fax machines.

Snow reaching up to the hips fell in some parts of Korea's eastern coastal regions over the weekend.
Fortunately no deaths of injuries have been reported, but the sheer amount of snow is a major inconvenience to local residents.
Our Kwon So-a has the latest. Silent, but enormous.
Over one meter of snow has piled up over the last five days in parts of Korea's eastern coastal regions.
Currently there are heavy snow advisories and warnings in effect in most coastal areas of Gangwon-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do Provinces, and also in parts of Gyeongsangnam-do Province further south.
So far, the biggest accumulation has been recorded in Gangwon Province's Jinburyeong and Misiryeong which received 1-hundred-7 and 1-hundred-4 centimeters respectively, and over 90 centimeters has fallen in Gangneung.
The snow has caused widespread damage and inconvenience to local residents.
Mountainous areas have been blocked off, and traffic is being restricted.
More than 40 schools will be closed on Monday, while around a dozen have postponed entrance and graduation ceremonies.
Numerous facilities, especially greenhouses, have collapsed under the sheer weight of the snow.
"The tomatoes have all gone bad. Even if new tomatoes sprout in this cold, it will be impossible to restore the greenhouse and get them growing as before."
While residents are busy shoving snow off their cars and homes, government officials, police, and the military are helping out in the affected regions.
Korea isn't the only country in the region under a thick blanket of snow.
A snowstorm hit Japan over the weekend, resulting in 11 deaths in eight regions, most related in vehicle accidents.
Well over one thousand people were injured.
The first heavy snow warning in 13 years was issued in Tokyo, as 27 centimeters accumulated... the most in almost half a century.
Public transportation services were paralyzed, including at Tokyo's Haneda Airport, where along with the snow, gusty winds blew at up to 75 kilometers an hour.
As the low pressure system moves away from Korea, the country's eastern coastal regions are forecast to see more snow through this weekend.

The S. Korean government downplays the N. Korean human rights abuses and over-hypes North Korea's military capacity to discourage citizens from talking about the necessity of freeing Korea. South Korea has 50 times greater GDP and generations more advance military, yet cowers to a starving, impoverished country with antique armaments.
N. Korean refugees are not warmly received in S. Korean society. South Korea does not voice opposition to China's illegal forced repatriation of N. Korean refugees, of which there may be over 100,000. When men, women and children are repatriated back to North Korea, they face cruel punishment and imprisonment, or if they had communicated with Westerners or religious groups, they are tortured and/or executed. Yet, this does not concern or alarm the prosperous South Koreans. North Korean lives are dispensable to them.
And this is all great news for tourists wanting to see a Stalinist/Maoist country in the 21st century. So no need to rush, you still have plenty of time to visit. The UN is powerless, and South Korea is spineless. If you want to help North Korean civilians, I recommend visiting HRNK (The Committee for Human Rights in North Korea) and the UK Manna Mission of Europe (which operates bakeries to feed NK children).

Heavy rain and strong winds brought on by Typhoon Noul affected Korea′s southern regions overnight， especially Jeju Island.
More than one－hundred－30 flights going in and out of Jeju International Airport have been canceled since late Monday.
Dozens of accidents and flooding have been reported across the island，.. but no one was seriously hurt.
According to local authorities，... some 20 houses were flooded，... and two people had to be rescued from a swollen river.
A nine－ton boat anchored at Seogwipo Port also capsized due to high waves and strong winds.
A heavy rain alert has now been lifted，... but strong winds are expected throughout the nation through Wednesday.

South Korea is a land of ancient tradition and contemporary life, a fascinating world…with five thousand years of history. Seoul is the country’s economic and cultural centre, a metropolis of twelve million inhabitants who are proud of their ancient culture. The War Museum is a reminder of the Forgotten War when the United States of America and twenty other countries took part in a United Nations military operation to support South Korea against the forces North Korea and China. Thirty kilometres south of Seoul is the fortress town of Suwon where at the end of the eighteenth century the Hwaseong Fortress was built, now a World Heritage Sight. South Korea’s most famous monastery is located in the Gaya-San National Park. Today the complex and its ninety buildings have become one of the main Buddhist centres in the East.. Tumuli Park is situated in the centre of Kyong Ju, former capital of the Silla Kingdom and contains twenty three royal tombs that look from the outside like large green hills. A huge number of valuable finds were made here thus the National Museum was created in which more than a hundred and fifty thousand exhibits from prehistoric times right up to the Joseon Dynasty are on display. Jeju island is a unique holiday paradise, a volcanic island with temples, waterfalls, tea plantations and several leisure facilities. For Koreans as well as the Japanese, Jeju Island has, due to its tropical climate, become a very popular honeymoon destination. When during dinner a volcano erupts and laser gods battle against each other, the Korean people are reminded of the fact that they have withstood invasion by the Mongols, Chinese and Japanese. 1) Visiting Insadong
Considered by many to the cultural hub of Seoul, Insadong is the perfect place to indulge in Korean street, go shopping and take in Korean traditional musical performances. It is also one of the best places for people watching as you'll notice a mix of both Koreans and foreigners.
2) Korean Folk Village
The Korean Folk Village, nestled in between the cities of Suwon and Yongin, is a place you'll definitely want to check out. While wandering around he scenic premises you can snack on Korean street food delights such as sugary taffy where you'll notice traditional Korean wedding ceremonies, tightrope walking and equestrian students and performances. The best time of year to come is in the fall or spring.
3) Cat Cafes
Although we've been to several cat cafes in Thailand, Malaysia and Germany we still haven't found one that tops the cat cafe we visited in Hongdae, Seoul, South Korea. Purchase an entrance ticket, which entitles you to a drink, allows you to come in and interact with the cats playing, feeding and petting them to your hearts content.
4) One of the most historic markets in all of Seoul - and Korea for that matter - is Namdaemun Market. As the largest and oldest open air market in all of Korea you'll have a chance to shop and eat Korean street food all day long. My favorite snack here is hotteok.
5) A scenic and peaceful way to experience the heart of downtown Seoul is to wander along the Cheonggyecheon. There are few places that are more attractive to go walking. When we visited in winter we noticed many ice sculptures.
6) To beat the heat in the winter, visit a traditional Korean tea house for a fragrant cup of hot fruity tea and a delicious plate of Korean rice cake snacks.
7) Not a fan of cats? Try visiting a dog cafe as an alternative. It's the same deal as the cat cafe in terms of purchasing overpriced drinks for the chance to play and interact with cute dogs and puppies.
8) Kimbap Restaurant
For excellent Korean rice rolls, known as kimbap, head to one of the ubiquitous locations for some excellent kimchi fried rice, mandu and Korean soups.
9) Bamboo Park
If you visit the city of Damyang, in the southern region of Korea, you'll be treated to the Damyang Bamboo Forest Park. A nice scenic escape from urban Korean life, these parks do sometimes get crowded.
10) Boseong Tea Fields and Plantation
Not far from the Bamboo Forest Park is the Boseong Tea Fields. Come climb up to the very top - it's quite the workout and enjoy a cup of green tea or green tea flavored ice cream upon returning to the bottom.
11) There are a plethora of fascinating palaces and temples to explore in Seoul. Our favorite, is Gyeongbokgung Palace where admission is only 3000 Won.
12) If you're ready to shop until you drop be sure to visit Myeongdong, one of the most popular shopping districts in all of Seoul. Here you'll find swanky boutique shops and plenty of restaurants.
13) For the art and hipster scene be sure to visit Hongdae, the most popular student hangout area for Koreans. From food to nightlife to shopping this place has it all for young 20 somethings.
14) An alternative to Itaewon is Songtan - located nearby an American Military base in the Pyeongtaek region. This is where you'll come to buy American goods and to eat International cuisine.
15) Seoul Tower offers amazing views of the city but I enjoyed climbing Namsan even more. The climb is free and it best enjoyed on a fall or spring afternoon when the weather is cool.

The Korea Meteorological Administration says that， from January to the end of September，... Seoul and its neighboring Gyeonggi－do Province received just 43 percent of the accumulated precipitation they would normally see over the same period. The situation was better in Korea′s two southernmost provinces，... but they still only saw 80 percent of average levels. The weather agency says that，... in addition to this year′s monsoon season being weak，... no typhoons made direct hits between July and September. And the drought is expected to continue with no heavy rain forecast in the coming weeks.

Typhoon Lionrock is due to reach the coastal regions of northeast Japan late Tuesday.
Although it won't directly affect Korea,... parts of the nation can expect heavy rain and blustery winds over the next couple of days.

Packing gusts of up to two hundred-15 kilometers an hour, Typhoon Lionrock is expected to make landfall in the central and northern part of Japan, including the Honshu region by Tuesday evening, local time.
Powerful winds have already started to buffer the nation, prompting the cancellation of hundreds of domestic flights and disrupting local train services.
Typhoon Lionrock is expected to dump 80-millimeters of rain per hour on some areas.
As a result, outdoor events have been canceled and nearly one thousand schools closed in Miyagi and Iwate Prefectures.
Along with that, high wave and flood warnings have been issued along Japan's northern coastal regions.
Although South Korea isn't in the storm's direct path, weather conditions in the nation have been under the typhoon's indirect influence since Monday.
Some coastal areas in Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gangwon-do provinces have already seen up to 200 millimeters of precipitation,... and are expecting more downpours throughout Tuesday.
Also due to the rain,... storm and surge advisories have been issued for Ulleungdo and Dokdo Island in the East sea, and places such as Jeju Island, the western port city of Incheon, and most of Chungcheongnam-do province are under strong wind advisory.
As Typhoon Lionrock moves north, heading toward China and Russia through Wednesday,... South Korea's central and eastern regions are forecast to see rainy and blustery conditions.

South Korea may now have entered ranks of the world's top economic powers, but it is paying a hefty price; an epidemic of suicides is afflicting its dejected senior citizens and is spreading to the youth.
"Before, families lived together in one home", says Choi Seong-Wo, who runs a soup kitchen for Seoul's elderly. Many of his regulars have been abandoned by their children and are now forced to live on paltry state benefits in pensioner ghettos. "Confucianism is in the past, it's ancient history", he adds. Capitalism has replaced it, and traditional family values have been left by the wayside, driving the old to desperate measures. "Suicide is a full-blown epidemic", says Captain Seo Hyung-Gun, whose rescue team patrols the river night and day. In the countryside, the problem is worse, though it remains taboo. "You don't talk about it; people are in denial", says Sho Jin, who lost his best friend. Like many in poor rural regions abandoned by the young, he committed suicide by drinking pesticides. In Gwando province last year, 500 took their lives in this way. Faced with figures like these, the government responded by spending 2.5 million on suicide prevention in 2014. But it may need to re-think it's approach to a problem that is as much social and psychological as it is material.

This video focuses on giving an analogy to primarily League of Legends, but other major e-Sport titles as a whole, on the polarizing differences between the major regions of the world when it comes to practice and approaches. After receiving a recommendation by Thorin to make a video like this I decided to go much more in depth to touch on a wider range of topics. The video is intended to showcase the major differences between the regions listed and suggests ways to go about improving. I think this movie perfectly portrays a lot of things that are too perfectly fitting for the topics that will be gone over in this video. Opinions and statements I make in this video are supported using history from some of the largest eSports titles in history such as LoL, sc1, wc3, and sc2. As well as observable differences even in modern times of stated cultural differences. I believe when people start looking at things from a perspective of "I'm bad, but you're worse" instead of "I'm good and you're bad", then growth will occur quicker. I also hope that NA truly is on the "second generation" of Ken like showcased in this movie and that they can continue to improve for the better. P.S Obviously not everything single thing said applies to every single person of said region.
