One of the first InRange videos included a mud test on an M1A (M14) in a modified Troy stock.
Recently we did a similar, yet more controlled, test on an M1 Garand. With not only our videos, we see people stating that the AK47 would have breezed through, along with many requests to perform the same test on the AK.
Well, here it is.

In this video we want to show how long an AK can last in full auto before burning out. The gun being used is a converted WASR-10 happily provided by our friends over at Quiet Riot Firearms. The gun was lubed with FIREClean prior to being fired to showcase the ease of cleaning after a barrage of full auto fire. This test did not turn out exactly as everyone had expected, but you'll need to watch the entire video for the whole story. Be sure to stay tuned for a follow up video in the near future.

The AK-47 is a selective-fire, gas-operated 7.62×39mm assault rifle, first developed in the USSR by Mikhail Kalashnikov. It is officially known as Avtomat Kalashnikova (Автомат Калашникова). It is also known as a Kalashnikov, an "AK", or in Russian slang, Kalash.
Design work on the AK-47 began in the last year of World War II (1945). After the war in 1946, the AK-46 was presented for official military trials. In 1947 the fixed-stock version was introduced into service with select units of the Soviet Army. An early development of the design was the AKS (S—Skladnoy or "folding"), which was equipped with an underfolding metal shoulder stock. In 1949, the AK-47 was officially accepted by the Soviet Armed Forces and used by the majority of the member states of the Warsaw Pact.
The original AK-47 was one of the first true "assault rifles" to be manufactured, after the original Sturmgewehr 44. Even after six decades the model and its variants remain the most widely used and popular assault rifles in the world because of their durability, low production cost, and ease of use. It has been manufactured in many countries and has seen service with armed forces as well as irregular forces worldwide. The AK-47 was the basis for developing many other types of individual and crew-served firearms. More AK-type rifles have been produced than all other assault rifles combined.

One of the first InRange videos included a mud test on an M1A (M14) in a modified Troy stock. Recently we did a similar, yet more controlled, test on an M1 Garand. With not only our videos, we see people stating that the AK47 would have breezed through, along with many requests to perform the same test on the AK. Well, here it is. Chad and I will be doing more work with this rifle in particular to really see what it is capable of at longer range using higher quality ammunition. The Wolf 124gr ammunition was stringing heavily at longer ranges and we did ran out of the heavier Wolf 154gr soft point ammunition that did so well in the C39 V2 test. Rest assured that we will be revisiting this rifle in the near future in a couple of videos that you will not want to miss.

In this video we shoot and discuss a very high quality AK-47 variant from DDI out of Knoxville, TN. This particular rifle is built using a Hungarian AKM parts kit with US produced 4140 barrel, DDI produced stamped receiver, and Hogue furniture. DDI uses a Fenocite process to treat the barrel, bolt and several other key components to increase durability, accuracy, corrosion resistance and reduce wear. The workmanship of this rifle is scores better than other comparable brands that we have handled in the past, and comes in at a very competitive price point. This rifle also features a correct side rail for attaching your favorite optic. Also, try as you might you won't find a crooked barrel or canted sights on these rifles.
Chad and I will be doing more work with this rifle in particular to really see what it is capable of at longer range using higher quality ammunition. The Wolf 124gr ammunition was stringing heavily at longer ranges and we did ran out of the heavier Wolf 154gr soft point ammunition that did so well in the C39 V2 test. Rest assured that we will be revisiting this rifle in the near future in a couple of videos that you will not want to miss.
