Deepa Vakil has a passion to provide high quality dentistry with excellent service to all her patients. Throughout her career she has worked in a number of private practices in London and has a vast amount of experience behind her. With a passion for cosmetic dentistry she has continued her education in specialist fields of dentistry by attending courses throughout the UK and abroad, thus making sure that my clinical skills are up to date enabling me to deliver high quality dentistry to all my patients. "I have a passion for cosmetic dentistry and want to help people improve their smiles, be that with simple procedures such as fillings or complex cases involving veneers, bridges and braces. A one year course in advanced cosmetic dentistry, by Dr Chris Orr ex-president of the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentists has helped me to keep up to date with the latest techniques." To complement her passion for cosmetic dentistry she has also gained qualifications to carry out procedures involving dermal fillers and 'Botox' to help smooth out those unwanted wrinkles. Shah Begum .With a keen interest in cosmetic dentistry Shah has spent much time keeping abreast of the latest techniques and thinking in Dentistry by attending seminars, lectures and demonstrations. Shah has undergone further training in Implantology, Botox and Dermal filler treatments. She continues to expand her knowledge and experience, and is currently looking at completing a course in orthodontics and an advanced cosmetic dentistry course in London. She enjoys all aspects of Dentistry and has a great eye for optimal aesthetics! Kirby Meehan is a qualified Dental Nurse. She is thrilled and excited to be part of Dental at MediaCityUK. Kirby has a keen interest not only in general dentistry but also the cosmetic aspect. She has completed her NVQ in Beauty -- Levels 2 & 3, thus allowing her to look at dentistry from a different angle. Richard Oliver BDS BSc PhD FDSRCPS FDS (OS) RCPS Richard qualified from The University of Manchester in 1993. He completed his PhD in Oral Pathology from the University of Glasgow in 1998 and subsequently undertook a training in academic oral and maxillofacial surgery. He was previously Senior Lecturer and Consultant in Oral Surgery at the University Dental Hospital in Manchester where his clinical practice and research have been largely in the field of dental implants, bone grafting and major oral surgery. He now works in a number of Specialist Dental Practices in the Midlands, the North West and Wales undertaking oral surgery, dental implant treatments and oral medicine. He also trains and mentors other dentists to undertake implant treatment and has recently been appointed as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Cardiff Dental School. He has published over 60 scientific papers and is on the Editorial Board of Dental Update. He was on the guideline development group that produced the NICE guideline on the prophylaxis of endocarditis. He is an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the University of Edinburgh. He is on the Advisory Board for Oral Surgery for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is an examiner for the post-qualification certificate in Dental Sedation for the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses.
