The Keukenhof in the Netherlands is perhaps the most beautiful spring garden in the world. More than seven million tulips, daffodils and hyacinths fill over 32 hectares with color and fragrance. Each year the park attracts more than 800,000 tourists from all over the world.
This unique aerial video shows some of the highlights from the park, including the 2015 flower painting of Vincent van Gogh, a typical Dutch drawbridge, the central lake&fountain;, and numerous flower beds; all seen from a drone's perspective.
The video was shot with permission from the park administration. Equipment used: DJI Phantom 2 with Zenmuse H4-3D gimbal en 4K camera. Soundtrack: 'Strength & Honor' by MusicCafe.

Keukenhof is a world-famous royal flower park in the Netherlands. Every year it's visited by more than a million tourists. This fabulous floral kingdom is filled with the blooming tulips of every sort and shades, hyacinths, golden daffodils, lilacs and lush red roses.

Facts & figures: Over 7 million flower bulbs are planted by hand every year in the park, which covers an area of 32 hectares. It has 4.5 million tulips in 100 varieties, and flower bulbs in more than 1600 different varieties. The bulbs are supplied by 91 Royal Warrant Holders. There are more than 2,500 trees in 87 varieties. There are 15 kilometers of footpaths, 280 benches, 15 fountains and 32 bridges. There are 4 different indoor pavilions.
Keukenhof is located near the small town of Lisse, between Amsterdam and The Hague. It is situated in an area called the "Dune and Bulb Region" (Duin- en Bollenstreek), a region that features coastal dunes and the cultivation of flower bulbs.
Keukenhof is open annually from the last week in March to mid-May. The best time to view the tulips is around mid-April, depending on the weather. Tip: go early in the morning or late in the afternoon, there are less people.

Enjoy a relaxing kaleidoscopic hour while listening to great popular musical arrangements played on the Dutch draaiorgel 'De Adriaen', which takes up residence at the Keukenhof Gardens tourist attraction for its opening season from March until May each year. At the famous Keukenhof, fabulous colours, amazing floral designs and stunning landscaping combine to present an almost Disney-esque experience. Tulips are of course pride of place, but there's many other things to see.
My wife and I visited on the 7th of April 2014, just over five years since our first visit during our honeymoon to Holland in 2009. The Garden's country theme this year was the Netherlands, so we expected a great show, and we were not disappointed!
'De Adriaen' draaiorgel or Dutch street organ was built in 1978 by Henk vd Heuvel using many old organ parts. It has 75 keys and 406 organ pipes along with percussion instruments, and is now based in the Ijmuiden area of the Netherlands.

Keukenhof ("Kitchen garden", Dutch pronunciation: [ˈkøːkə(n)ˌɦɔf]), also known as the Garden of Europe, is one of the world's largest flower gardens. It is situated in Lisse, the Netherlands. According to the official website for the Keukenhof Park, approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted annually in the park, which covers an area of 32 hectares (79 acres).
Keukenhof is located in South Holland in the small town of Lisse, south of Haarlem and southwest of Amsterdam. It is accessible by bus from the train stations of Haarlem, Leiden and Schiphol. It is located in an area called the "Dune and Bulb Region" (Duin- en Bollenstreek).
Keukenhof is open annually from mid-March to mid-May. The best time to view the tulips is around mid-April, depending on the weather.
History
Keukenhof is situated on 15th-century hunting grounds. It was also a source of herbs for Jacqueline, Countess of Hainaut's castle, which is the source of the name Keukenhof (it served to provide herbs for the castle's kitchen). Rich merchants took over the grounds after the Countess's death. VOC captain and governor Adriaen Maertensz Block lived there in his retirement years in the 17th century in the country house (now known as Castle Keukenhof) which he had let built in 1641.

Facts & figures: Over 7 million flower bulbs are planted by hand every year in the park, which covers an area of 32 hectares. It has 4.5 million tulips in 100 varieties, and flower bulbs in more than 1600 different varieties. The bulbs are supplied by 91 Royal Warrant Holders. There are more than 2,500 trees in 87 varieties. There are 15 kilometers of footpaths, 280 benches, 15 fountains and 32 bridges. There are 4 different indoor pavilions.
Keukenhof is located near the small town of Lisse, between Amsterdam and The Hague. It is situated in an area called the "Dune and Bulb Region" (Duin- en Bollenstreek), a region that features coastal dunes and the cultivation of flower bulbs.
Keukenhof is open annually from the last week in March to mid-May. The best time to view the tulips is around mid-April, depending on the weather. Tip: go early in the morning or late in the afternoon, there are less people.
Where Keukenhof is situated now, was a hunting area in the 15th century. Herbs for the kitchen of the castle were also collected here; hence the name Keukenhof ("kitchen garden").
The garden was established in 1949 by the then-mayor of Lisse. The idea was to present a flower exhibit where growers from all over the Netherlands and Europe could show off their hybrids -- and help the Dutch export industry (the Netherlands is the world's largest exporter of flowers).

At the famous Keukenhof, fabulous colours, amazing floral designs and stunning landscaping combine to present an almost Disney-esque experience. 'De Adriaen' draaiorgel or Dutch street organ was built in 1978 by Henk vd Heuvel using many old organ parts. It has 75 keys and 406 organ pipes along with percussion instruments, and is now based in the Ijmuiden area of the Netherlands.

We find the flower fields like I hoped we could. In Keukenhof Garden there were lots of tulips but this spring has been quite cold so one more week and all the tulips will probably be blooming. I love tulips and flowers and seeing these field has been on my list, happy Morten wanted to join me on such a "girly" adventure:)

According to the official website for the Keukenhof Park, approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted annually in the park, which covers an area of 32 hectares (79 acres).[2]
Keukenhof is located in South Holland in the small town of Lisse, south of Haarlem and southwest of Amsterdam. It is accessible by bus from the train stations of Haarlem, Leiden and Schiphol. It is located in an area called the "Dune and Bulb Region" (Duin- en Bollenstreek).
Keukenhof is open annually from mid-March to mid-May. The best time to view the tulips is around mid-April, depending on the weather.

According to the official website for the Keukenhof Park, approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted annually in the park, which covers an area of 32 hectares (79 acres).[2]
Keukenhof is located in South Holland in the small town of Lisse, south of Haarlem and southwest of Amsterdam. It is accessible by bus from the train stations of Haarlem, Leiden and Schiphol. It is located in an area called the "Dune and Bulb Region" (Duin- en Bollenstreek).
Keukenhof is open annually from mid-March to mid-May. The best time to view the tulips is around mid-April, depending on the weather.
