Pathare Prabhu is one of the Hindu communities in the city of Mumbai (formerly known as Bombay).
According to a legend, the Pathare Prabhus descend from Ashwapati, a monarch of the mythical solar dynasty. The legend goes like this: rishi Bhrigu cursed Ashwapati, because he did not take cognisance of the rishi during a religious ceremony. The curse meant that descendants of Ashwapati were to lose their kingship and would be reduced to petty clerks in the Kaliyug. Bhrigu condemned Ashwapati's descendants to be called Pattan Prabhu in place of Pathare Prabhu.
Prabhu means master or the Prince in Sanskrit and many of the Indian languages; it is a name sometimes applied to God. The term is also used by male devotees of the Hindu God Lord Krishna/Vishnu as a title and form of address. If a man sees another male devotee whom he does not know, he will address him as "Prabhu". It is also appended after a devotee's name, for example "Madhava Prabhu". In Indonesia, especially in Javanese and Sundanese culture, the term is used as a part of royal titles, especially to address Kings.
It is also a common surname among Konkani speaking people across the Konkan Coast in India, from Maharashtra to Kerala and Tamil Nadu. According to historian Anant Ramkrishna Sinai Dhume, Prabhu was a title accorded to the representative of the main village of the taluka (district) committee. The Prabhus may have also occupied official posts in the central administration, without prejudice to their original posts which were hereditary. Traditionally, a Prabhu was a landlord and as such a master to the many agricultural labourers that were needed to cultivate his lands.
Don't Forget is the debut studio album by American singer Demi Lovato. It was released on September 23, 2008 by Hollywood Records. Lovato started working on the album in September 2007, during the filming of the Disney Channel television film Camp Rock. Lovato co-wrote most of the songs with the American boy band the Jonas Brothers, who produced the album alongside record producer John Fields. The album also includes Kara DioGuardi, Jason Reeves and Rooney frontman Robert Schwartzman, who collabrated from the album. Don't Forget features a power pop sound and the lyrics deal with various teen topics.
The album was met with generally positive reviews from critics. Due to most of the album being produced by the Jonas Brothers, critics noted distinctive similarities between the artists. Don't Forget debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and was eventually certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It has sold over 530,000 copies in the United States. Elsewhere, Don't Forget reached the top ten on the Canadian Albums Chart and reached the top forty in Spain and New Zealand, as well as being certified Gold in Brazil.
