While laurel forests were still quite widespread in Europe a few million years ago, they are now only found on a few Canary Islands, Madeira and the Azores. At Los Tilos you can explore an area of laurel forest. Colloquially, many visitors also refer to the region as a jungle or primeval forest, since the abundance of green, the mosses and ferns create this character.
