Moss

Mosses are small flowerless plants that typically grow in dense green clumps or mats, often in damp or shady locations. The individual plants are usually composed of simple, one-cell thick leaves, attached to a stem that may be branched or unbranched and has only a limited role in conducting water and nutrients. Although some species have vascular tissue this is generally poorly developed and structurally different from similar tissue found in other plants. They do not have seeds and after fertilisation develop sporophytes (unbranched stalks topped with single capsules containing spores). They are typically 0.2–10 cm (0.1–3.9 in) tall, though some species are much larger, like Dawsonia, the tallest moss in the world, which can grow to 50 cm (20 in) in height.

Mosses are commonly confused with lichens, hornworts, and liverworts. Lichens may superficially look like mosses, and have common names that include the word "moss" (e.g., "reindeer moss" or "iceland moss"), but are not related to mosses. Mosses, hornworts, and liverworts are collectively called "bryophytes". Bryophytes share the property of having the haploid gametophyte generation as the dominant phase of the life cycle. This contrasts with the pattern in all "vascular" plants (seed plants and pteridophytes), where the diploid sporophyte generation is dominant.

Crossing Lines

Crossing Lines is an English, French, Italian and German language television series created by Edward Allen Bernero and Rola Bauer. The series was premiered on June 9, 2013, at the screening for the Opening Ceremonies of the 53rd edition of the Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo, the first time the festival opened with a television series. Its first television broadcast was in Italy on June 14, 2013, on the public broadcaster's channel Rai 2. Crossing Lines was premiered in the United States on NBC on June 23, 2013. Bernero and Bauer are the show's executive producers. The show was renewed for a 12-episode second season by TF1, and was released in its entirety on Amazon Prime Instant Video in the UK on August 15, 2014. NBC did not broadcast the show after the first season. Netflix carried the series' first two seasons. Canada's CBC aired second season episodes during late night hours. On 20 February 2015, the show was renewed for a 12-episode third season. The third season began on September 15, 2015.

Silk Stalkings

Silk Stalkings is a crime drama television series that premiered on CBS on November 7, 1991, as part of the network's late-night Crimetime After Primetime programming package. Broadcast for two seasons until CBS ended the Crimetime experiment in June 1993, the remaining six seasons ran exclusively on USA Network until the series finale in April 1999. The show was creator Stephen J. Cannell's longest running series. Its title is a wordplay on silk stockings.

The series portrays the daily lives of two detectives who solve sexual-based crimes of passion ("silk stalkings") among the ultra-rich of Palm Beach, Florida. Most episodes were shot in San Diego, California, while others were filmed in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Synopsis

Chris and Rita

From 1991–95, the lead characters were played by Rob Estes and Mitzi Kapture, as detectives Christopher Lorenzo and Rita Lee Lance, respectively. Early in the series, Ben Vereen played Rita's boss Captain Hutchinson ("Hutch"). Vereen was compelled to retire from the show during the second season due to an off-screen accident, but he returned for a few guest appearances. His successor was Lt. Hudson, played by Robert Gossett, who stayed on until the third season. Chris and Rita's new boss, who would stay with the show for its duration, was Charlie Brill as Captain Harry Lipschitz. Brill would go on to appear in the most episodes of any actor, 129, ahead of Kapture's 101 and Estes' 100. He was promoted to the opening credits starting with season six.

Elliot Moss

Elliot Moss is a multi-instrumentalist songwriter, producer, and visual artist from New York. He released his debut album Highspeeds in 2014, which was played, recorded, and mixed primarily by himself.

In 2014, Moss started booking shows with his five-man band, covering material from both Highspeeds and songs from a new album scheduled for release in 2015. Moss has played in support of Cold War Kids, Digitalism, and Nada Surf, and has performed at venues such as CMJ, Music Hall of Williamsburg, and he played at SXSW in March of 2015.

Sean Moeller’s Paste magazine review of the 2014 CMJ fest called Moss “as great as I wanted him to be,” and New Music Nashville described his music as “smooth-as-they-come alternative electronic beats.”

His song “Slip” was featured on Sonic Breakfast’s “Top Ten Songs of 2014” list. Hilly Dilly said that the song “just might be the very definition of a hidden gem,” and The Musicality described the song as the “definition of a gem. The electro effects on his voice and the dark synths combine to make a track that is a laid back, slow jam with elements of cool jazz.”
