From Edmonton band The Lad Mags and filmmaker Fish Griwkowsky, comes the music video for "Lover You Don't Love Me", an official Summer Music Video Fund 2013 awardee (publicrecords.org). Produced with the support of TELUS (telus.com/optiklocal). Edmonton, AB.
The rising sparrows sing after a night of rain and the city awakens black and white. Ten legs move forward, step step step. Something's wrong. Little do we suspect, the Lad Mags are coming through with party invitations. The catch? You have to die to attend, and as the band cuts a trail of dead through the suburbs their power grows, the guest list expanding: hearts that beat no more, enumerated. No one is spared as the five begin to scrape even vulnerable animals and plants off the mortal plain, the little things. Can anything stop them? At the afterlife aftergrad, it's a Technicolour party that never quits, joined decades ago in a chaos legend of Hell's Angels, Alan Ginsberg, Hunter S. Thompson and Merry Pranksters. Monsters wearing monster costumes and creatures beyond such reckoning fight, fuse and welcome new arrivals, overseen by a white cat judging from the upper shadows. A summoning. As the dead soar and dance again, lips grow wet and the bonfire afterburns straight up into the night. It is a party, every party. And at places like these, and everywhere else, something's always wrong.

The Lad
The Lad is a 1935 British comedy film directed by Henry Edwards and starring Gordon Harker, Betty Stockfeld and Jane Carr. It was made at Twickenham Studios. The film is based on a novel by Edgar Wallace.
Plot
Bill Shane is The Lad, an opportunistic petty criminal mistaken for a private detective. When Shane arrives at a remote country estate, he's offered lots of money not to delve into the private affairs of the Fandon family. Shane is all for taking the money and duping the family, but on being reunited with ex-girlfriend Pauline, now the Fandon's maid, he decides to turn over a new leaf.

From Edmonton band The Lad Mags and filmmaker Fish Griwkowsky, comes the music video for "Lover You Don't Love Me", an official Summer Music Video Fund 2013 awardee (publicrecords.org). Produced with the support of TELUS (telus.com/optiklocal). Edmonton, AB.
The rising sparrows sing after a night of rain and the city awakens black and white. Ten legs move forward, step step step. Something's wrong. Little do we suspect, the Lad Mags are coming through with party invitations. The catch? You have to die to attend, and as the band cuts a trail of dead through the suburbs their power grows, the guest list expanding: hearts that beat no more, enumerated. No one is spared as the five begin to scrape even vulnerable animals and plants off the mortal plain, the little things. Can anything stop them? At the afterlife aftergrad, it's a Technicolour party that never quits, joined decades ago in a chaos legend of Hell's Angels, Alan Ginsberg, Hunter S. Thompson and Merry Pranksters. Monsters wearing monster costumes and creatures beyond such reckoning fight, fuse and welcome new arrivals, overseen by a white cat judging from the upper shadows. A summoning. As the dead soar and dance again, lips grow wet and the bonfire afterburns straight up into the night. It is a party, every party. And at places like these, and everywhere else, something's always wrong.

From Edmonton band The Lad Mags and filmmaker Fish Griwkowsky, comes the music video for "Lover You Don't Love Me", an official Summer Music Video Fund 2013 awardee (publicrecords.org). Produced with the support of TELUS (telus.com/optiklocal). Edmonton, AB.
The rising sparrows sing after a night of rain and the city awakens black and white. Ten legs move forward, step step step. Something's wrong. Little do we suspect, the Lad Mags are coming through with party invitations. The catch? You have to die to attend, and as the band cuts a trail of dead through the suburbs their power grows, the guest list expanding: hearts that beat no more, enumerated. No one is spared as the five begin to scrape even vulnerable animals and plants off the mortal plain, the little things. Can anything stop them? At the afterlife aftergrad, it's a Technicolour party that never quits, joined decades ago in a chaos legend of Hell's Angels, Alan Ginsberg, Hunter S. Thompson and Merry Pranksters. Monsters wearing monster costumes and creatures beyond such reckoning fight, fuse and welcome new arrivals, overseen by a white cat judging from the upper shadows. A summoning. As the dead soar and dance again, lips grow wet and the bonfire afterburns straight up into the night. It is a party, every party. And at places like these, and everywhere else, something's always wrong.
This A-side/B-side film tributes the band's 45 rpm release of You Don't Love Me and Lover.
