Waimea Canyon Trail In Kauai Leads To A Beautiful Waterfall and Cliff overlook and I am going to take you with me as I hike the trail and view the canyon from the overlook and head down to the waterfall.
Ten miles long and more than 3,000 feet deep, Waimea Canyon was described by Mark Twain as the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific."
The gods were smiling upon us when we arrived late afternoon in June 2009. With my trusted Kodak EasyShare Z1275 camera, I recorded 5 minutes of magnificently-colored paradise!
The song Lei Pikake by Hapa captures the awe-inspiring and humbling beauty that is Waimea Canyon. Enjoy!

Driving up Waimea Canyon along Hawaii Route 550 (Waimea Canyon Drive & Kokee Road). It's a long drive up the mountain with a few gorgeous lookout vantage points. Be sure to get to the top before clouds and rain set in. We arrived at the last lookout just before the rain and raced the wall of water down the mountain road stopping quickly for a few photos along the way. The photo interludes have been inserted where we took the photos (at least per our recollection).

Held onto my camera for dear life to get these shots. The clouds opened up and we had an amazing ride over Kauai through Waimea Canyon, Jurrasic Falls, all around the Na Pali Coast. Never experienced anything quite like it.

Driving up Waimea Canyon along Hawaii Route 550 (Waimea Canyon Drive & Kokee Road). It's a long drive up the mountain with a few gorgeous lookout vantage points. Be sure to get to the top before clouds and rain set in. We arrived at the last lookout just before the rain and raced the wall of water down the mountain road stopping quickly for a few photos along the way. The photo interludes have been inserted where we took the photos (at least per our recollection).

MIAMI — The U.S. has released nine more prisoners from its base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and sent them to Saudi Arabia for resettlement, officials said Saturday.
