This deadliest tsunami 2004 caused by a 9.0 magnitude earthquake, killing more than 250,000 people in a single day is the most devastating tsunami in modern times, traveled 375 miles (600 km) in a mere 75 min. That’s 300 miles (480 km) per hour, leaving more than 1.7 million homeless affecting 18 countries. Tsunami is an ever-present and real threat for the these islands of the Indian Ocean due to the presence of a tectonic interactive plate. These reviews may help national, regional, and international organizations to prevent such events from occurring again in the future.
The December 2004 earthquake released about enough energy to power the United States for six months, or put another way, it generated the equivalent of a 250-megaton bomb shaking every point of the earth an inch or more. The associated shifts in the ocean floor displaced enough water to fill a tank 1.6 kilometers wide, 1.6 kilometers high and more than 11 kilometers long. The 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake was an undersea megathrust earthquake that occurred at 00:58:53 UTC on Sunday, 26 December 2004, with an epicentre off the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. The quake itself is known by the scientific community as the Sumatra–Andaman earthquake. The resulting tsunami was given various names, including the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, South Asian tsunami, Indonesian tsunami, the Christmas tsunami and the Boxing Day tsunami.
The earthquake was caused when the Indian Plate was subducted by the Burma Plate and triggered a series of devastating tsunamis along the coasts of most landmasses bordering the Indian Ocean, killing 230,000 people in fourteen countries, and inundating coastal communities with waves up to 30 metres (100 ft) high. It was one of the deadliest natural disasters in recorded history. Indonesia was the hardest-hit country, followed by Sri Lanka, India, and Thailand.
With a magnitude of Mw 9.1–9.3, it is the third-largest earthquake ever recorded on a seismograph. The earthquake had the longest duration of faulting ever observed, between 8.3 and 10 minutes. It caused the entire planet to vibrate as much as 1 centimetre (0.4 inches) and triggered other earthquakes as far away as Alaska. Its epicentre was between Simeulue and mainland Indonesia. The plight of the affected people and countries prompted a worldwide humanitarian response. In all, the worldwide community donated more than $14 billion (2004 US$) in humanitarian aid.
Because of the distances involved, the tsunami took anywhere from fifteen minutes to seven hours to reach the coastlines. The northern regions of the Indonesian island of Sumatra were hit very quickly, while Sri Lanka and the east coast of India were hit roughly 90 minutes to two hours later. Thailand was struck about two hours later despite being closer to the epicentre, because the tsunami traveled more slowly in the shallow Andaman Sea off its western coast.

Video Released of Florida School Bus Shooting
JACKSONVILLE, FL – Footage from inside a school bus that came under gunfire in May was released Wednesday by the Florida State Attorney’s Office..
Police say the gunman was a 16-year-old, and the victims were also teens.
In the video, as School Bus 915 approached its stop on the afternoon of May 14, it appears the driver knew something was wrong. Two males just outside the bus door appear ready to fight.
As students began to yell, another camera angle from inside the bus showed the violence that quickly erupted. The video showed 16-year-old Shakayla Singleton looking out the bus window, then quickly grabbing her face. Shakayla was shot once and spent days in the hospital recovering.
Ayana Sherman, 16, was also shot – hit once in the back of the head as she sat in the back row of the bus. The bullet first went through her seat.
The video is part of the evidence the state attorney’s office has gathered so far in the case against 16-year-old Edgar Robles.
Multiple witnesses said Robles, who can be seen in the video outside the bus, was responsible for pulling the trigger. A teen who was with Robles that day said he and Robles were waiting to fight two boys riding on the bus and that he overheard Robles call Singleton to find out where the boys were.
He said she just happened to be hit by one of the bullets.
The teen witness said he ran home after the shooting and told Robles to stay away. Both were later identified by multiple witnesses.
Robles left Jacksonville after the shooting but was later caught in Liberty County, GA.

Raw Footage is the eighth studio album by American rapper Ice Cube. It was released on August 19, 2008, by his record label Lench Mob Records. The album features guest appearances from The Game, Butch Cassidy, Musiq Soulchild, Young Jeezy and WC. The album is his most political effort, since over a decade earlier with the release of his album The Predator (1992).

The single became available via iTunes on February 12, 2008. The music video features cameo appearances by WC and DJ Crazy Toones.
The album's second single, "Do Ya Thang" was released via iTunes on June 24, 2008. The song was produced by Palumbo Beats.

The Indian Ocean is the third largest of the world's oceanic divisions, covering approximately 20% of the water on the Earth's surface. It is bounded by Asia on the north, on the west by Africa, on the east by Australia, and on the south by the Southern Ocean or, depending on definition, by Antarctica. It is named after India. Keith David
Keith David Williams (born June 4, 1956), better known as Keith David, is an American film, television and voice actor and singer. He is best known for his roles as the director of the CIA in Agent Cody Banks and Dr. Facilier in The Princess and the Frog. He has acted in many mainstream films, such as Crash, There's Something About Mary, Barbershop and Men at Work. He has had memorable roles in numerous cult favorites, including John Carpenter's films The Thing (as Childs) and They Live (as Armitage), the Riddick films Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick (as the Imam), the General in Armageddon, King in Oliver Stone's Platoon, and Big Tim in Darren Aronofsky's Requiem for a Dream. David last starred as Elroy Patashnik in the sixth season of the comedy series, Community. He guest starred in episodes 4 and 5 of Season 2 of Rick and Morty.
David is also well known for his voice-over career, primarily his Emmy Award winning work as the narrator of numerous Ken Burns films such as The War. Video Released of Florida School Bus Shooting JACKSONVILLE, FL – Footage from inside a school bus that came under gunfire in May was released Wednesday by the Florida State Attorney’s Office.. Police say the gunman was a 16-year-old, and the victims were also teens. The 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake was an undersea megathrust earthquake that occurred at 00:58:53 UTC on Sunday, 26 December 2004, with an epicentre off the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. The quake itself is known by the scientific community as the Sumatra–Andaman earthquake. The resulting tsunami was given various names, including the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, South Asian tsunami, Indonesian tsunami, the Christmas tsunami and the Boxing Day tsunami.
The earthquake was caused when the Indian Plate was subducted by the Burma Plate and triggered a series of devastating tsunamis along the coasts of most landmasses bordering the Indian Ocean, killing 230,000 people in fourteen countries, and inundating coastal communities with waves up to 30 metres (100 ft) high. It was one of the deadliest natural disasters in recorded history. Indonesia was the hardest-hit country, followed by Sri Lanka, India, and Thailand.
With a magnitude of Mw 9.1–9.3, it is the third-largest earthquake ever recorded on a seismograph. The earthquake had the longest duration of faulting ever observed, between 8.3 and 10 minutes. As students began to yell, another camera angle from inside the bus showed the violence that quickly erupted. The video showed 16-year-old Shakayla Singleton looking out the bus window, then quickly grabbing her face. Shakayla was shot once and spent days in the hospital recovering.
Ayana Sherman, 16, was also shot – hit once in the back of the head as she sat in the back row of the bus. The bullet first went through her seat.
The video is part of the evidence the state attorney’s office has gathered so far in the case against 16-year-old Edgar Robles.
Multiple witnesses said Robles, who can be seen in the video outside the bus, was responsible for pulling the trigger. A teen who was with Robles that day said he and Robles were waiting to fight two boys riding on the bus and that he overheard Robles call Singleton to find out where the boys were.
He said she just happened to be hit by one of the bullets.
The teen witness said he ran home after the shooting and told Robles to stay away. Both were later identified by multiple witnesses.
Robles left Jacksonville after the shooting but was later caught in Liberty County, GA.

The video is part of the evidence the state attorney’s office has gathered so far in the case against 16-year-old Edgar Robles.
Multiple witnesses said Robles, who can be seen in the video outside the bus, was responsible for pulling the trigger. A teen who was with Robles that day said he and Robles were waiting to fight two boys riding on the bus and that he overheard Robles call Singleton to find out where the boys were.
He said she just happened to be hit by one of the bullets.
The teen witness said he ran home after the shooting and told Robles to stay away. Both were later identified by multiple witnesses.
Robles left Jacksonville after the shooting but was later caught in Liberty County, GA.
