Ka'anapali Beach Hotel in Maui, Hawaii was amazing for our first vacation to Maui. This hotel will have to be my first choice for the next time we travel to Maui. There are lots of hotels to choose from when you are planning your trip but this will be my first choice even though I have never stayed anywhere else.

Kaanapali, Hawaii
Kāʻanapali is a census-designated place (CDP) in Maui County, Hawaiʻi, United States. The population was 1,250 at the 2010 census. The master-planned town is located in the Old Hawaii ahupuaa of Hanakao`o, as in the same name of the southern end of Kaanapali Beach's Hanakao`o Canoe Beach.
Geography
Kāʻanapali is located at 20°56′5″N 156°40′46″W / 20.93472°N 156.67944°W / 20.93472; -156.67944 (20.934820, -156.679329).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.3 square miles (16.3 km2), of which 4.9 square miles (12.8 km2) is land and 1.3 square miles (3.4 km2), or 21.19%, is water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,375 people, 537 households, and 380 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 282.8 people per square mile (109.2/km²). There were 1,775 housing units at an average density of 365.1 per square mile (141.0/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 79.07% White, 0.95% African American, 0.15% Native American, 17.42% Asian, 3.04% Pacific Islander, 1.96% from other races, and 7.42% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.55% of the population.

Kaanapali Maui in Hawaii is one of the most popular destinations in the Hawaiian Islands. Kaanapali Maui is located about 6 miles north of Lahaina and can be easily reached by Maui Bus. Visiting Lahaina by Cruise Ship there are a lot of activities you can choose from, however if you have been to Maui before and have already been around the island and driven the road to Hana you might want to just stroll around Lahaina or visit the Kaanapali resorts. I made this video because I wasn't sure how to get to Kaanapali without rented a car. I had to ask around and visit the courthouse visitors center near Lahaina's old Banyon tree to find out. In Pearl Harbour, a museum commemorates the events of the seventh of December 1941 when most of the American Pacific fleet was destroyed by the Japanese. The valley of Nuuanu Pali is of great importance in Hawaiian history. It was here that a deciding battle took place, when King Kamehameh came from Maui and triumphantly drove the troops of the chief of Oahu into the mountains, the result of which formed the political union of the Hawaiian Islands. In winter, the world’s best surfers collect on Sunset Beach, attracted by spectacular waves, some of which reach as high as the tallest church steeples. On the island of Kaua’i, the Wailua is Hawaii’s only navigable river and it flows through some of the exciting locations which were used for Jurassic Park, Raiders Of The Lost Ark and Blue Hawaii. Two volcanoes dominate the extraordinary island of Maui, which also features sandy beaches, green pastures, dense jungle and a bleak lunar-like landscape. On Waimea Beach in 1778, the English sea captain, James Cook, was the first European to set foot on Hawaiian territory. The Waimea Canyon was referred to by Mark Twain as ‘The Grand Canyon of the Pacific’, a massive gorge which has been carved out of the volcanic landscape by the Waimea River. From a Victorian style station there is the narrow-gauge Sugar Cane Train which travels through the once prolific sugar plantations of Kaanapali. Haleakale is the world’s largest dormant volcano with a crater as large as Manhattan. But nowhere else in the world can volcanoes be studied as safely as on Big Island in the Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park The Hawaiian Islands…priceless pearls in the Pacific Ocean.

Kaanapali Maui in Hawaii is one of the most popular destinations in the Hawaiian Islands. Kaanapali Maui is located about 6 miles north of Lahaina and can be easily reached by Maui Bus.
Visiting Lahaina by Cruise Ship there are a lot of activities you can choose from, however if you have been to Maui before and have already been around the island and driven the road to Hana you might want to just stroll around Lahaina or visit the Kaanapali resorts.
I made this video because I wasn't sure how to get to Kaanapali without rented a car. I had to ask around and visit the courthouse visitors center near Lahaina's old Banyon tree to find out.
To catch the Maui bus To Kaanapali you walk past the Banyon tree park to the Warf shopping center. On the back side of the center is a covered parking garage where the Maui Bus stops. The bus fare during my visit was about $2.50 each way. The bus was very crowded because it is full of people staying in the Kaanapali resorts who are visiting Lahaina for the day as well. We had to stand on the bus going both ways so just expect it and it shouldn't be too much of a bother.
Maui has been voted the best island in the world by readers of a major travel magazine and it is easy to see why. While so many islands in the Caribbean and other places in the world seem so poor and shabby--which is their charm, Maui is noticeably upscale, pristine, and beautiful. The Kaanapali coast resorts offer their guests the best of everything. Personally, my idea of the perfect island destination has lots of palm trees for shade and tiki bars on the beach. Kaanapali has both.
