This is my review of Cod Liver Oil as a skin care related supplement.
For some reason, I focus on the potential side effects, and fail to emphasize how great Cod Liver Oil is for the skin and hair.
Due to the high amounts of Vitamin A, cod liver oil has the benefits of clearing up your skin, eliminating pesky breakouts, and leaving your skin looking moist, dewy and conditioned. Really, I cannot speak highly enough of this product.
Of course, the interactions of the Vitamin E in the oil are essential for great skin, hair, and nails.
The specific product I used was Arctic Cod Liver Oil from a company called Nordic Naturals. I bought it online. It is not necessary to use this one (of course), but it is the only one I have tried.
Honestly, If you are someone who wants to improve the quality, softness and shine of your hair... go for this supplement.
If you are someone who wants to eliminate the occasional breakout or are a sufferer of moderate acne... go for this supplement.
From the research I conducted, it is not essential to take this every day (unless you want to)...it is just a good healthy-life supplement. FYI, You keep it in your refrigerator.

Cod liver oil
Cod liver oil is a nutritional supplement derived from liver of cod fish (Gadidae). As with most fish oils, it has high levels of the omega-3 fatty acids, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Cod liver oil also contains vitamin A and vitamin D. It has historically been taken because of its vitamin A and vitamin D content. It was once commonly given to children, because vitamin D has been shown to prevent rickets and other symptoms of vitamin D deficiency.
Manufacture
Cod liver oil was traditionally manufactured by filling a wooden barrel with fresh cod livers and seawater and allowing the mixture to ferment for up to a year before removing the oil. Modern cod liver oil is made by cooking the whole cod body tissues during the manufacture of fish meal.
Therapeutic uses
Though similar in composition to fish oil, cod liver oil has higher concentrations of vitamins A and D. According to the United States Department of Agriculture, a tablespoon (4 drams or 15 ml) of cod liver oil contains 4080 μg of retinol (vitamin A) and 34 μg of vitamin D. The Dietary Reference Intake of vitamin A is 900 μg per day for adult men and 700 μg per day for women, while that for vitamin D is 15 μg per day. The "tolerable upper intake levels" are 3000 μg/day and 100 μg/day respectively, so people consuming cod liver oil as a source of omega-3 fatty acids should pay attention to how much vitamin A and vitamin D this adds to their diet.

This is my review of Cod Liver Oil as a skin care related supplement.
For some reason, I focus on the potential side effects, and fail to emphasize how great Cod Liver Oil is for the skin and hair.
Due to the high amounts of Vitamin A, cod liver oil has the benefits of clearing up your skin, eliminating pesky breakouts, and leaving your skin looking moist, dewy and conditioned. Really, I cannot speak highly enough of this product.
Of course, the interactions of the Vitamin E in the oil are essential for great skin, hair, and nails.
The specific product I used was Arctic Cod Liver Oil from a company called Nordic Naturals. I bought it online. It is not necessary to use this one (of course), but it is the only one I have tried.
Honestly, If you are someone who wants to improve the quality, softness and shine of your hair... go for this supplement.
If you are someone who wants to eliminate the occasional breakout or are a sufferer of moderate acne... go for this supplement.
From the research I conducted, it is not essential to take this every day (unless you want to)...it is just a good healthy-life supplement. FYI, You keep it in your refrigerator.

We believe this information is extremely useful for the health conscious out there, and will help to clarify the confusing and contradictory information which currently surrounds fermented cod liver oil. We have therefore compiled all the information in this documentary, and explained our findings as clearly as possible.
Although we mention it in the documentary, we want to make sure it is clear that we have no allegiance to any brand in the health industry, and select our products based on nutritional value alone. This is the third video in the Fermented Cod Liver Oil Scandal interview series.
Cathy Raymond has worked behind the scenes at the Weston A. Price Foundation and the Farm to Consumer Legal Defense Fund for a decade. In this video, she talks about how she ended up with a skin rash from head to toe. After her legs swelled up like tree trunks, she was rushed to the emergency room.
The dermatologist told her to stop taking the FCLO and within a couple months, her skin cleared up completely and she effortlessly lost 25 pounds without even trying. She believes it was the inflammation from FCLO that caused the weight gain and skin rash. She also shows her before and after photos which are shocking.
Cathy also tells the story of how she ended up homeless after working for WAPF and FTCLDF all these years. What you will hear is devastating.
Cathy says it was Dr. Kaayla Daniel, former WAPF Vice President and whistleblower that gave her the courage to tell her story. In August, 2015, Dr. Daniel published a report with the data from 5 independent labs that show that the fermented cod liver oil is rancid, contains trans fats, and is made from pollock.
