GottoDoIndia picks out fun activities to try out in Kochi, India and make your holiday enjoyable. In this video, watch the host, Sherry, go on a canoe ride and talk about her experience.
The canoe ride boat trip is perfect for taking a Kochi backwaters tour. The ride is extremely pleasant with the canoe passing through narrow tunnels and beautiful tree-lined banks. The host informs us that a canoe is a better mode of transport if you wish to explore Kochi's backwaters because it is narrower than a houseboat and can pass effortlessly through tunnels. During the ride, we get to see much natural beauty as the banks are lined with tall, shady trees and you can hear the cheerful chirping of birds and insects. We also get to see locals carrying out their regular chores, giving us a taste of the lifestyles followed here.

The Backwaters of Alappuzha (Alleppey) is located in the South Indian state of Kerala. It is a popular tourist destination where people spend a day or two in houseboats and enjoy the pristine natural beauty. Aleppey is considered to be the oldest city of Kerala and is often known as the "Venice Of The East". The reason for this name is of course, due to so much interconnecting water "highways" and the number of boats. There are thousands of boats in Alappuzha and they come in all sizes.
The backwaters of Kerala are a chain of lagoons, and lakes lying parallel to the Arabian sea coast. The backwaters consist of 5 large lakes linked by canals and fed by 38 different rivers. This forms almost 560 miles of waterways, spanning to almost half of Kerala. Such a vast waterway network is convenient for tourists to travel in houseboats, while conveniently wining and dining.

The backwaters of Kerala India are a unique and magical place. Experiencing the backwaters in a houseboat or Kettuvalloms is one of the best things to do in Kerala. As part of the Kerala Blog Express 2 (a sponsored trip), I was able to spend an evening on a three roomed house boat and stop off in Champakulam to meet the local population. We caught the houseboat from Alleppey and sailed along the Kerala Backwaters.

Drenge are a brotherly duo from a village outside Sheffield called Castleton who play gnarly Brit rock you can really seethe to. They spent their childhood, "just in fields, drinking" so their new video for "Backwaters" is an homage to that time. It's full of fireside agression and swigs of Kirov. We predict big things for them, although when we said that to singer Rory, he replied "yeah, just as soon as we scrape together the bus fare to get out of Castleton."

GottoDoIndia picks out fun activities to try out in Kochi, India and make your holiday enjoyable. In this video, watch the host, Sherry, go on a canoe ride and talk about her experience.
The canoe ride boat trip is perfect for taking a Kochi backwaters tour. The ride is extremely pleasant with the canoe passing through narrow tunnels and beautiful tree-lined banks. The host informs us that a canoe is a better mode of transport if you wish to explore Kochi's backwaters because it is narrower than a houseboat and can pass effortlessly through tunnels. During the ride, we get to see much natural beauty as the banks are lined with tall, shady trees and you can hear the cheerful chirping of birds and insects. We also get to see locals carrying out their regular chores, giving us a taste of the lifestyles followed here.

Aleppey is considered to be the oldest city of Kerala and is often known as the "Venice Of The East". The reason for this name is of course, due to so much interconnecting water "highways" and the number of boats. There are thousands of boats in Alappuzha and they come in all sizes.
The backwaters of Kerala are a chain of lagoons, and lakes lying parallel to the Arabian sea coast. The backwaters consist of 5 large lakes linked by canals and fed by 38 different rivers. This forms almost 560 miles of waterways, spanning to almost half of Kerala. Such a vast waterway network is convenient for tourists to travel in houseboats, while conveniently wining and dining.

They spent their childhood, "just in fields, drinking" so their new video for "Backwaters" is an homage to that time. It's full of fireside agression and swigs of Kirov. We predict big things for them, although when we said that to singer Rory, he replied "yeah, just as soon as we scrape together the bus fare to get out of Castleton."
