Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 is an advanced 20.2 megapixel compact camera, part of the Cyber-shot line of digital cameras made by Sony and announced on 6 June 2012. It was named as the "European Advanced Compact Camera for 2012–2013" by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA). It was named one of the 'Best Inventions of 2012' by TIME.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 IV

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 IV is a digital premium compact camera announced by Sony on June 10, 2015. It is one of a pair of cameras launched together by Sony that use their new stacked CMOS sensor, a development similar to Sigma's Foveon line of sensors. The other camera is the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 II, a model providing a larger lens and greater zoom, but less compact body. The stacked CMOS sensor collects full colour information for each pixel rather than using a Bayer pattern. This should provide greater resolution, depending on other factors such as lens quality and noise reduction.

Compared to its predecessors, the RX100 IV also has a faster electronic shutter and increased read-out speed for video, which will also result in a reduction in rolling shutter effect and allow high speed video to be captured.
