VOX or simply Vox is a German television channel, headquartered in Cologne and part of the RTL Group, Europe's second largest largest TV, radio, and production company. The channel officially launched at 5 p.m. on January 25, 1993. Prior to that, test transmissions had been made using the informal name Westschienenkanal (West slot channel, a reference to Nordschienenkanal and Südschienenkanal, the informal names used in the 1980s for the other two German private channels RTL Television and Sat.1). The channel mainly broadcasts documentaries and U.S. series and movies.
VOX started transmitting on January 25, 1993. It competed with public television by broadcasting many live and informational programs. The channel was originally owned by an assortment of German media companies:
The director of programming at launch was Ruprecht Eser. One year after the channel's launch it seemed clear that the original program concept would not work. Market share among the target group relevant for advertisers was at 1.5%, too low to attract much advertising. VOX took significant losses. By February 1994, all the original partners except UFA and DCTP sold their stakes. As a result of the losses, the quality of programs began to decline. VOX had to repeat its movies every few weeks to fill the schedule. On April 1st, 1994, VOX went into liquidation. More than 250 employees were laid off. The logo of VOX is with letters V and X, with red circle eye accepted as O.

Plot: Renowned bandleader Lawrence Welk began his own variety series in 1955... and it has never stopped running. Each program was straightforward musical numbers from Welk's band (many of which had featured solos at one point or another), as well as vocal selections and dance numbers from the show's cast. Most of the introductions to the performances, read stiffy by Welk, were kept short. Many of the shows revolved around a certain theme (e.g., "The Music Man" or the Fourth of July), with appropriate songs and dance numbers. The most famous of the featured singers were the Lennon Sisters (Dianne, Janet, Kathy and Peggy), who were featured most every week for 13 years. At the end of each show, Welk would invite women from the audience on stage to dance with him as the theme, "Bubbles in the Wine" (and later, "Champagne Fanfare") played. The show enjoyed a 16-year network run on ABC, and later a succesful 11-year syndicated run. Just months after the original series ended, older shows (from c. 1965-1982) were repackaged with new footage and entered a long run in both syndication and on PBS.

And I'm walking towards the water steaming body cold and bare
But your words cut loose the fire and you left my soul to bleed
And the pain that's in your truth's deceiving me, has got me scared
Oh why?
Through your eyes the strains of battle like a brooding storm
Your up and down these pristine velvet walls like focus never forms
My walls are getting wider and my eyes are drawn astray
I see you now a vague deception of a dying day
Oh why?
I fall into the water and once more I turn to you
and the crowds were standing staring faceless cutting off my view to you
They start to limply flail their bodies in a twisted mime
And I'm lost inside this tangled web in which I'm lain entwined
You're gone and I'm lost inside this tangled web in which I'm lain entwined
