Major League may also refer to:
Major League Baseball (MLB) is a professional baseball league. A total of 30 teams now play in two divisions, the American League (AL) and National League (NL), with 15 teams in each. The AL and NL operated as separate legal entities from 1901 and 1876 respectively, until 2000, when they were merged into a single organization known as Major League Baseball. After cooperating but remaining legally separate entities since 1903, in 2000 the leagues merged into a single organization led by the Commissioner of Baseball. The organization also oversees minor league baseball leagues, which comprise about 240 teams affiliated with the major-league clubs. With the World Baseball Softball Confederation, MLB manages the international World Baseball Classic tournament.
Baseball's first professional team was founded in Cincinnati in 1869. The first few decades of professional baseball were characterized by rivalries between leagues and by players who often jumped from one team or league to another. The period before 1920 in baseball was known as the dead-ball era; players rarely hit home runs during this time. Baseball survived a conspiracy to fix the 1919 World Series, which came to be known as the Black Sox Scandal. The sport rose in popularity in the 1920s, and survived potential downturns during the Great Depression and World War II. Shortly after the war, baseball's color barrier was broken by Jackie Robinson.
John Derran Lackey (born October 23, 1978) is an American professional baseball starting pitcher for the Chicago Cubs of Major League Baseball (MLB). The Anaheim Angels drafted him from Grayson County College in 1999. He made his MLB debut with the Angels in 2002 and helped the franchise win its first World Series title that year. Lackey signed with the Boston Red Sox as a free agent prior to the 2010 season, and won his second championship with them in 2013. He was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals in July 2014 and prior to the 2016 season signed with the Chicago Cubs as a free agent.
An All-Star selection in 2007, Lackey led the American League (AL) in earned run average and finished third in the Cy Young Award balloting. He is a two-time AL Pitcher of the Month Award winner. After declining performances his first two seasons in Boston, he missed the 2012 season to recover from elbow surgery, but rebounded in 2013 as the Red Sox won the World Series. In 2015, he won at least 10 games for the 12th consecutive season in which he has played (not counting 2012).

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2016 During the Cubs-Marlins post-game press conference, John Lackey unleashes the most amazing media one-liner so far this year! "Expectations? I mean...I think, we're trying to win a World Series. I, um... I didn't come here for a haircut, you know what I mean? We're trying to get it on. I came here for jewelry."
Got a lot that I want to do
I've got the feet, but I don't have the shoes
Yeah, yes yes ma'am
Wash it down with how great I am
I want a lackey
Looks like you
Won't fuss and wine
I want a lackey
Could be you
My friend has one and I want one too
I want a lackey, check out a lackey
Andale, make it quick
Lay it on, lay it on thick
Light my smokes, fill my glass
Pucker up and kiss my big white ass
Small time, small mind
