This will be a great help for a NIFT Aspirant.
I faced a problem when I was also a Aspirant, what wrong I found was There was no Niftian who shared his/her planning to enter NIFT..what is the mental level or Self-Motivational level you must carry, I didn't found such things, ("ONLY COACHING PROMOTION")

For other courses such as Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech), Master of Fashion Technology (MFTech) and Master of Fashion Management (MFM), aspirants need to take only the GAT.

Dressing is a function as basic as eating or drinking and, in the right conditions, putting together an outfit can be as pleasurable and rewarding as cooking a good meal or mixing a good drink. We value our right to dress as we please and bristle at dress codes that tell us what we can and can’t wear. Yet in our increasingly globalized and multicultural world people’s sartorial choices and traditions come into conflict, and clothes become as potent a source of contention as words. From freeing the nipple to banning the burqa, the arguments over values, identity, equality, and liberty can revolve around clothes in a profound way. Can (and should) there be true sartorial liberty?
Nathaniel Adams is a writer and menswear designer living in downtown Jersey City. He is the co-author, with photographer Rose Callahan, of I am Dandy: The Return of the Elegant Gentleman, and the co-founder, with Dr. Lee-Jon Ball, of the Secret Empire custom suiting firm. An expert on the topic of dandyism, Nathaniel has spoken at New York University, the Fashion Institute of Technology, Pratt Institute, the National Arts Club, and Disneyland. His has written for The New York Times, Harper’s Bazaar, Men’s Journal, The Rake, and The Chap, and is currently writing a biography of 19th-Century champagne magnate Charles Heidsieck as well as a second volume of I am Dandy.

To make its products, the company employs a team of five designers. These designers work with skilled artisans to develop pieces that bring together traditional craftsmanship and stylish designs, thus offering modern solutions for home decorating without sacrificing the sophistication of traditional art. Materials come from all across India, such as block print textiles from Gujrat and Ikat, Patachitra paintings from Orissa, but most final products are made in and around Pondicherry. Everything is at least partly handmade.
The store will be open after August 22 every week on Wednesday thru Monday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The price range and the product range is broad, targeting weekend tourists who are just looking for small trinkets and large businesses who are looking for full interior design solutions.
Bidisha Samantaray, founder and owner, grew up in Pondicherry. She completed her graduation in Graphics and Communication from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Bombay, after which she spent a year working for a fashion house. It was set in an undulating valley covered with thick groves of pine and rhododendron trees at an altitude of 5200 ft in 1898 as a 9 hole course and later converted into a 18 hole course in 1924 by Captain Jackson and C. K. Rhodes. Golf Link in Shillong was the first 18-hole golf course in India. But it is not just for people who can swing the golf club; it is open to common people as well. The extraordinary beauty of the place invites not just golfers but everyone who cares about beauty.
Shillong is the capital of Meghalaya, one of the smallest states in India and home to the Khasis. It is the headquarters of the East Khasi Hills district. Shillong is the 330th most populous city in India with population of 143,007 according to the 2011 census. It is said that the rolling hills around the town reminded the European settlers of Scotland. Hence, Shillong is known as "Scotland of the East." The density of Meghalaya state in the current decade is 342 per sq mile. Shillong was the capital of Assam, but after the state was split as Assam and Meghalya meaning 'The abode of the clouds', it became the first capital of the newly formed State of Meghalaya . Located in undulating pine covered hills, the city has a milder climate than tropical India. The city center is 1496 meters above sea level.
The British legacy is still visible in architecture and food habits of population. The Assam style houses with slanting roofs, large number of windows and wooden floors look like a piece of art which happens to be very good idea, considering Shillong lies in a area where rains and earthquakes are very common. Shillong receives heavy rainfalls during monsoon and the rainy season usually lasts longer than rest of India. An umbrella is therefore a necessity while packing your bags. Although people avoid the rainy season, it is generally the time when city is clean and waterfalls are in full strength. Most of the Shillong population belong to Khasi tribe, who are predominantly Christian. There are significant Bengali and Nepali minorities. An interesting aspect of Khasis are that they are a matrilineal society - the mother is head of family, youngest daughter owns all the property and mothers surname is passed on to children.
Shillong is fast emerging as an education hub for the entire northeastern region. Important educational institutes like the Northeastern Hill University (NEHU), CMJ University, Martin Luther Christian University, Indian Institute of Management, National Institute of Technology, Shillong, Institute of Hotel Management (IHM),National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences, English and Foreign Languages University, Shillong Campus, St. Edmund's College, St. Anthony's College, Shillong and several others college and engineering institution have been established here.
