Today, many clinical centrs in the world are using "endogenous immunomodulator immunotherapy" after sergically removal of the solid tumors in order to prevent recurrance of the tumor. Published reports shownsignificant advancement established in this area of biomedical research and application "endogenous immunimodulartor immunotherapy" Eventhough "endogenous immunomodulator immunotherapy"research has been going on for more than two decades and many clinical centers ,all over the world, have tried this type of treatment, teamit has not been considered as routin porcedure for post operative treatment of soild tumor. The reason for lack of use by all oncologist is due to need for highskilled personnel, high expense, and hospitalization requirement for "endogenous immunomodulator immunotherapy". This means doctor must prepare "endogeous immunomodulator immunotherapy" reagent specifically for his or her patient. These charactristics limit use of this type of therapy specially in developing coutries. Up to now several types of "endogenous immunomodulator immunotherpay" for treatment of soild tumor has been used. Initially Dr. Rosenberg's group who is pioneer of immunotherapy, administered interleukine-2 (IL-2) as immunomodulator to potentiate patient's immune system. Unfortunately this treatment increased the level of IL-2 in the body led to high toxicity. This toxicity was more lethal than the primary cancer. The next generation immunotherapy procedure used by Rosenberg's group, was use of lymphokine activated killer (LAK) cells therapy. They activated patient'sown lymphocyte with IL-2 in vitro then infused to patient. Using this tecnique, they were able to decreasethetoxicity and side effect of the reagent but could not eliminated it. In addtition, there was another problem associated with LAK immunotherapy . By activating total lymphocyte of patient , vaious subtypes of T-cell including suppressor T-cells were activated; thus, treatment was not effective enough. Further more, this type of "endogenoud immunomodulator immunotherapy" was noteffective in all patient and/or all cancers. For this reason LAK therapy was not accepted by many physitions. Other groups modified this type of "endogenous immunomodulator immunotherapy" by separating helper T-cell of the patient and activating them with IL-2, or IL-7 and adminstered to the patient. This modification decreased the side effect but due to complex procedure for perparation of the reagent and expensive treatment regimen on top of lack effectiveness for all pateients was not accepted widely by all clinicians.
