5 Min Full Body Warm Up with Caroline Girvan
This is full body 5 min warm up you can follow along to prior to exercise. If you follow along before your workouts, you will quickly get to know what’s coming next and won’t feel the need to watch this over and over as it will become second nature!
I would recommend further warming up if carrying out working sets. For example:
Bar only for 20 reps for chest press, barbell squats etc before working sets
If using using, use lighter weight for warm up set(s)
At least 20 reps bodyweight lunges or squats before weighted sets
For plyometrics, incorporate set(s) of less powerful jumps etc
This video is simply to give you an idea, so please feel free to make it your own! If you have really tight hamstrings for example, simply carry out more dynamic stretching on this area.
Thanks for watching...

Caroline Polachek: Tiny Desk Concert
Marissa Lorusso | October 10, 2023
Any good singer who gives half a thought to the health of her instrument knows that hydration is crucial for functioning vocal cords. But when Caroline Polachek — whose left-of-center pop music makes great use of her mellifluous voice — stops for a water break in the middle of her Tiny Desk concert, she doesn't pull out some crappy plastic bottle. No, she drinks from a chalice.
That seems like precisely the right vibe for a performance by Polachek. Her songs are filled with vivid, extravagant imagery — headless angels, smoke floating over volcanoes, fiery sunsets, mayflies in the swimming pool — and in their production you can hear everything from a children's choir to bagpipes to glitchy beats. At the Tiny Desk, she maintains that adventurous spirit but works with a live band to give her songs a more homespun feel. Together, they perform four tracks from Polachek's arresting, maximalist album Desire, I Want To Turn Into You: the propulsive "Pretty In Possible"; the romantic "Blood and Butter"; "Sunset," which gets a group clap-along from the assembled NPR staffers; and "I Believe," which Polachek and the band transform from a stuttering synth-driven track to an acoustic reverie.
Listening to Polachek's recent records, you might be tempted to think her vocals are drenched in pitch correction software. Haters may say it's AutoTune, but when she sings live and unamplified in the NPR Music offices, it's clear that the impressive range and control you're hearing is all her.

In this enriching episode of "Pulpit Perspectives Podcast," host Reverend Dr. Kent Lundy welcomes Carolyn Wirtz Poelstra, the newly appointed Associate Pastor of Clay United Methodist Church in South Bend, Indiana. Together, they delve into an inspiring discussion about pastoral leadership, personal faith journeys, and the dynamic ministries at Clay Church.
**Key Takeaways:**
1. **Answering the Call to Ministry:**
Carolyn shares her compelling journey to pastoral ministry, which began in her childhood but took years to fully embrace due to the conservative nature of her initial church environment. It wasn't until her engagement at Clay United Methodist Church that she felt empowered and safe to pursue her calling. Her story is a poignant reminder of the personal struggles many face in accepting their spiritual paths and the transformative power of supportive faith communities.
2. **Educational Pursuits and Personal Growth:**
Currently enrolled at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary, Carolyn is diligently working towards her Masters of Divinity. She discusses the challenges and joys of juggling academic responsibilities with her pastoral duties, emphasizing the intellectual stimulation and spiritual growth she experiences from courses like Intro to Hebrew and Theology of Evangelism.
3. **Innovative Ministry Initiatives:**
Carolyn is deeply involved in several outreach and ministry projects at Clay, notably the food pantry that serves over a thousand people monthly and the development of a 'fresh expression' of church aimed at creating safe spaces for those hesitant about traditional church settings. Such initiatives highlight the church's commitment to adapt and respond to community needs effectively.
4. **Spiritual and Physical Wellness:**
An avid runner and outdoor enthusiast, Carolyn discusses how maintaining physical health through activities like running and gym workouts plays a crucial role in her overall well-being and ministerial effectiveness. Her approach underscores the vital connection between physical vitality and spiritual energy.
5. **Mentorship and Leadership:**
Reflecting on influences that have shaped her pastoral journey, Carolyn credits Pastor Brian Duran as a key mentor. His guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in her development as a church leader, illustrating the importance of mentorship in nurturing the next generation of clergy.
As Carolyn Wirtz Poelstra embarks on her role as Associate Pastor, she envisions a future marked by hopeful growth and a prophetic witness. Her story and insights offer rich lessons on faith, leadership, and community engagement.
