Monty Python (sometimes known as The Pythons) was a British surreal comedy group who created Monty Python's Flying Circus, a British television comedy sketch show that first aired on the BBC on 5 October 1969. Forty-five episodes were made over four series. The Python phenomenon developed from the television series into something larger in scope and impact, spawning touring stage shows, films, numerous albums, several books and a stage musical as well as launching the members to individual stardom. The group's influence on comedy has been compared to The Beatles' influence on music.
The television series, broadcast by the BBC from 1969 to 1974, was conceived, written and performed by members Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. Loosely structured as a sketch show, but with an innovative stream-of-consciousness approach (aided by Gilliam's animation), it pushed the boundaries of what was acceptable in style and content. A self-contained comedy team responsible for both writing and performing their work, the Pythons' creative control allowed them to experiment with form and content, discarding rules of television comedy. Their influence on British comedy has been apparent for years, while in North America it has coloured the work of cult performers from the early editions of Saturday Night Live through to more recent absurdist trends in television comedy. "Pythonesque" has entered the English lexicon as a result.

Instead, he instructs Caroline to take Phoebe to a nearby institution for the mentally ill, figuring the child won't live much longer, and tells Norah that Phoebe was a stillborn. However, after visiting the institution and seeing the state of the other patients, Caroline takes the baby home with her, stopping along the way to buy formula and diapers. With help from a truck driver named Al, Caroline begins to raise the baby as her own, while Dr. Henry develops an obsession for photography after his wife gives him the gift of a Memory Keeper camera.

As a desperate act, they hire The Jackal, the code name for a hired killer who agrees to kill French President De Gaulle for half a million dollars. We watch his preparations which are so thorough we wonder how he could possibly fail even as we watch the French police attempt to pick up his trail. The situation is historically accurate. There were many such attempts and the film closely follows the plot of the book.

Plot: King Baggot plays a young minister with socialistic tendencies which are not liked by the elders of the church. He is very popular with the younger set. A poor young woman of the town is deserted by her unprincipled husband who destroys all record of their marriage. Their child soon dies and the minister calls to console the mother. Her reputation is considered shady by the townspeople. She starts to leave town, but falls exhausted outside the minister's home. He takes her in and gives her a home with himself and his mother. The elders object to this and the minister resigns. He takes up mission work in the slums and the woman goes with him. One night her husband returns drunk and shabby. He tries to rob a saloon and is pursued by saloonkeeper and police. He takes refuge in the mission. The minister persuades the pursuers to leave the man with him. The husband and wife meet, but she will have nothing to do with him. He makes a scene and accuses the minister of being in love with his wife. He then goes out into the storm and is killed by lightning. The new minister at the church proves unsatisfactory. The elders send for their old minister. He returns to his church on condition that they sanction his marriage to the woman he has helped.

The regional news program "Look North" from 23 May 1973 featured a news report from the Monty Python team as they were touring around the country with the Monty Python stage show. The report features Graham Chapman, Michael Palin and Terry Jones. Interestingly the clip starts with what looks like an earlier interview on the set of the "Hermits" sketch from 1969 with John Cleese and featuring the other Pythons, including Graham Chapman in character as The Colonel.

Union Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh shared the new Coastal Regulation Zone notifications 2011 in a press meet held recently. Giving a fresh breather to Mumbaikars, Jairam Ramesh announced opens spaces, parks and playgrounds to be now under the CRZ III category which means no development on these zones. Here are also other details of the new Coastal Regulation Zone notifications 2011. Union environment minister Jairam Ramesh unveiled a host of policy decisions that are part of the new Coastal Regulatory Zone norms. Giving a fresh breather to Mumbaikars, Jairam Ramesh announced opens spaces, parks and playgrounds to be now under the CRZ III category which means no development on these zones. Here are also other details of the new Coastal Regulation Zone notifications 2011.
Union environment minister Jairam Ramesh unveiled a host of policy decisions that are part of the new Coastal Regulatory Zone norms. One of the most important measures that will cheer the greens is the open space policy. All open spaces in the city will have to be treated like areas that fall within CRZ-III areas. The law limits development of areas governed by CRZ-III norms if the projects are not linked to “public interest” like supply of power, mining and petroleum, and recreation facilities. The minister announced that open spaces, parks and playgrounds will come under no development zones now. Another equally important policy introduced is the limiting of FSI to 2.5 for redevelopment in CRZ areas. Earlier, it was suggested that the cap could vary from area to area and go up to 4 depending on the type of development. Moreover, builders who take up development projects in CRZ areas, where the government’s participation has to be at least 51%, will now be exposed to queries under the Right To Information Act. The new Coastal Regulation Zone norms are also music for the Koliwada community as it will permit the redevelopment of only Koliwadas within 100 m of the coastline, instead of the earlier stipulation of 200 m. Jairam Ramesh added that the amendment in the no-development zone is strictly for the fishing community and traditional residence of koliwadas. The additional floor space index to koliwadas and old, cessed and dilapidated buildings will be a boon for 42,000 families living in 146 slum pockets, and 38,000 families residing in over 620 old and dilapidated buildings. Given that the country’s coastline is around 7,500 km, the environment minister doubted the efficacy of a common CRZ regulation for all of India and said that a separate CRZ rules were made especially for Mumbai according to the need of the city.

A beach goer Wednesday discovered mutilated human body parts that had washed up on the shore, right in front of the Olympic Beach Volleyball Arena on Rio's famed Copacabana beach. Rosetta comet probe given termination date

The Rosetta probe will be crash-landed on Comet 67P on Friday 30 September, the European Space Agency has confirmed. The manoeuvre, which is expected to destroy the satellite, will bring to an end two years of investigations at the 4km-wide icy dirt-ball. Flight controllers plan to have the cameras taking and relaying pictures during the final descent. Sensors that "sniff" the chemical environment will also be switched on....
