Purgatory Comics tells the story of a young woman named Cola who runs from her adult responsibilities and hides in a failing comic book store. She finds new friends in the storeowner, Evan, and a customer, Berner, and uses her marketing skills to help the little shop stay in business. She sets out to recruit legendary comic book writer and recluse Peter Whales to do an in-store signing, but her plan goes awry when Whales cleverly deconstructs her life and shines a light on her fears. This leaves Cola to question how long she can hide from her complicated past.
