Food logistics is both a traditional domestic skill and is important industrially. The transport and storing of food as well as timely delivery to consumers is important in order to secure the procurement of food. Food is stored by almost every human society and by many animals. Storing of food has several main purposes:
The safe storage of food for home use should strictly adhere to guidelines set out by reliable sources, such as the United States Department of Agriculture. These guidelines have been thoroughly researched by scientists to determine the best methods for reducing the real threat of food poisoning from unsafe food storage. It is also important to maintain proper kitchen hygiene, to reduce risks of bacteria or virus growth and food poisoning. The common food poisoning illnesses include Listeriosis, Mycotoxicosis, Salmonellosis, E. coli, Staphylococcal food poisoning and Botulism. There are many other organisms that can also cause food poisoning.
Starting a long term food storage pantry can be confusing. Preppers focus on long term storage, homesteaders focus on caning and storing their spoils. What should you do for your own pantry needs? Here on our homestead we have a dual purpose off grid pantry. Long term storage is good, but we also focus on daily needs. I want to save money, I dont want to go to the store every couple days, and I want healthy food items. Building my pantry to serve my needs took many years. But I have both long term and short term. Want to save money and have a usable pantry. See what I have to say about that today!
Starry made a yearly trip out of the mountains and to the city. The purpose, buying food in bulk! Keeping a well stocked pantry is essential for any homestead that wants to 1) SAVE MONEY 2) Be More self sustainable 3) Have FREEDOM from the store!! A well organized and stocked pantry needs to be filled not just with garden spoils and home canned items, but also staples! Staples include such food items as your grains, oatmeal, wheat, millet, different varieties of rice, beans, sugar, oils, baking powder, corn starch, nuts, peanut butter, spices, pastas, instant potatoes...the list is long! BUT purchases can be made in increments, spreading out the cost thus also allowing you time to properly store and packaged your new bulk items. ALWAYS remember Rome wasn't built in a day. Dont go hog ...
A brief overview of how my family stores food for an emergency situation and our thought process for acquiring certain items. $30-$50/month used very strategically can build a family a nice supply of food if you stay dedicated to the cause. Being prepared for an emergency is the sensible thing to do because in the end we are responsible for our own well being and it's foolish as adults to expect other people[government] to take care of us in an emergency situation. Questions, comments and criticisms always welcome as long as they are civil, and if you enjoyed this video please "like" and subscribe to my channel. Thank you for watching!

If you have been procrastinating in preparing an emergency food supply, here are a few food items you might want to get started with. They taste great, are currently at bargain low prices and are quite easy to incorporate into a regular diet. Many of the food items you find in Dollar stores like the Dollar tree are not that tasty nor are they that nutritious. You don't want to stock up on junk food. The items in this video are very healthy, tasty and nutritous and have a long shelf life. Get them while you can. the link to the dried vegetables on amazon is here. http://amzn.to/20S5xqU I add new videos every week. here is my recipe playlist where you can find some great recipes for canned mackerel. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL67EA7FD1A269D211 My favorite way to cook th...

i started drinking at a quarter to four
half past eight i'm out the door when
i saw her walking right in i said
keep on goin' man don't give in
next thing you know i'm back
i gotta make my move, precise attack because
i gotta thrill frome the hurt and kill you know
mommy said don't take that pill, well
mommy said life ain't all thrills and
mommy said don't play with fire
guess what mommy, i like that fire!
i chat her up and drink some more
12:15, my mind's a blur but
beauty and beast have made the connection
i got the fever and i need her injection
come last call we gotta go
back at her place i don't know then
i knock the candle over, start a fire
she lost it all i called it fate
i guess there won't be a second date - damn
i guess there won't be
burnin up
i never caught her name
burnin up
disfigured and she's mamed
burnin up
i hope that she forgets me
burnin up
don't want to say i'm sorry
burnin up
messed up our little party
what you gonna do?
gonna do now?
burnin up
i never caught her name
burnin up
disfigured and she's mamed
burnin up
