Luz Jiménez

Luz Jiménez or Luciana (born Julia Jiménez González; 1897–1965) was an indigenous Mexican model and Nahuatl-language storyteller and linguistic informant from Milpa Alta, D.F.

As a young woman she witnessed the Mexican Revolution, and was present when Emiliano Zapata and his revolutionary army entered Milpa Alta in 1911. Her eyewitness account is one of the only testimonies of Emiliano Zapata speaking Nahuatl. In 1916 most of her male relatives were killed in a massacre by the Carrancistas.

In the 1930s she served as a linguistic informant to linguists working to document the Nahuatl language. Among others she worked with Benjamin Lee Whorf who credits her in his description of Milpa Alta Nahuatl. She also worked as a model for artist Diego Rivera and her portrait can be seen in at least three of his murals, one of them the famous Tlatelolco market scene.

In 1942 she started work as a model at the Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado "La Esmeralda" (National School of Painting, Sculpture and Printmaking) in Frida Kahlo's classes.

Claudia di Girolamo

Claudia del Carmen di Girolamo Quesney (Santiago de Chile, born December 30 of 1956), is a Chilean actress. She studied theater in Universidad de Chile. Made her debut in 1979 with a little role in the miniserie Martín Rivas, in TVN.

She also performed some theater for television, in the program "Teatro como en el teatro" from channel 11 (today Chilevisión), together with the theater company from the Spanish actor resident in Chile, José Vilar, in the 80s decade, and in the first Chilean version of the rock opera Jesucristo Superestrella from Andrew Lloyd Webber, playing Mary Magdalene.

She was married to fellow actor Cristián Campos. Her current spouse for over 10 years is soap opera director, and a TVN executive, Vicente Sabatini.

Maria Flor

Maria Flor Leite Calaça, usually known as Maria Flor (born August 31, 1983), is a Brazilian actress. She is the daughter of Renato Calaça, a cinema audio technician and Márcia Leite, who is a screenwriter.

Career

Maria Flor was born in Laranjeiras, Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro state. She was discovered in 2002, and her first role was in the film O Diabo a Quatro, filmed in the same year, and released nationwide in Brazil in 2005. It was also her first role as a protagonist in a movie. She became famous after her role as Rê, a very insecure and innovative character, in Malhação telenovela. This was also her first television role.

She played Tina, a romantic character, in the telenovela Cabocla. To be able to play her character, Maria Flor spent almost a month in a farm learning how to be a peasant. In the movie Cazuza - O Tempo Não Pára she played a groupie following the rock band Barão Vermelho. In the film Quase Dois Irmãos she played a wealthy girl, daughter of a politician, and that gets involved with a drug dealer. She also represented the cast of the film during the 2005 Créteil International Women's Film Festival.
