Why is GIBRALTAR the most SUCCESSFUL place in EUROPE? - VisualPolitik EN
Join the VisualPolitik community and support us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/VisualPolitik
At the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula, nestled in the heart of the Spanish province of Cadiz and surrounded by one of the most economically and socially depressed areas of Europe, sits Gibraltar.
Gibraltar is a small city of just 34,000 inhabitants that is considered by Spain to be the last British colony on the European continent. Despite this and despite the territorial conflict between Spain and the United Kingdom over this territory, Gibraltar has become the most prosperous place in Europe and one of the richest enclaves in the world.
And this has made us at VisualPolitik ask ourselves a few questions: What exactly does Gibraltar make money from, how has it managed to become su...

GIBRALTAR O que fazer em 24h / WHAT TO VISIT IN 24H | Touristugas

We start the tour in Casements Square and walk in to Gibraltar town centre towards Main Street, We the pass through Grand Casements Gates and cross the street to explore Ocean Village - The famous marina and site of many bars, restaurants and coffee shops. from there we explore the rock of Gibraltar and it's many attractions including :-
Apes' Den / Barbary Macaques - Gibraltar's wild monkeys in their natural habitat
Gibraltar Nature Reserve, Upper Rock - Gibraltar's most prominent landmark and nature reserve
Mediterranean Steps - UNESCO World Heritage Site Buffer Zone
O'Hara's Battery - Highest point of the Rock of Gibraltar
Skywalk - Glass lookout with spectacular views at the top of the Rock
St Michael's Cave - A natural cave in the heart of the Rock
Windsor Suspension Bridge - A suspension bridge - not for the faint hearted
I also check out the beaches of Gibraltar including
Camp Bay & Little Bay - A former quarry turned into a lido, and a little rocky beach by the cliffs
Catalan Bay - A picturesque village by the sea located on the east side of the Rock
Eastern Beach - Gibraltar's largest beach located adjacent to the airstrip
Sandy Bay - A secluded beach with orange sand from the Sahara
And lastly Gibraltar Airport is listed as one of the most dangerous airports in the World. Not at least because of it's only 1777m long runway, but also because of the 4-lane Winston Churchill Avenue, which is crossing the runway

¡Bienvenido a Gibraltar!

And this has made us at VisualPolitik ask ourselves a few questions: What exactly does Gibraltar make money from, how has it managed to become such a prosperous territory, what could Brexit mean for this overseas territory? In this video we tell you all the details.

Gibraltar is a small peninsula in southern Spain but owned by the British Empire. With a strategic geographical location from the military point of view, it was the scene of immense war conflicts that wrote its history. The great highlight of this territory is undoubtedly the Rock of Gibraltar, composed of limestone, rising 426m above the sea.
First colonized by the Moors in the Middle Ages and later governed by the Spanish, the territory was ceded to the British in 1713. In the layers of fortifications, there are remains of a 14th century Moorish castle and the Great Siege Tunnels, excavated in the 18th century and expanded in World War II. Barbary Apes also live here, the only population of wild monkeys in Europe.

More info about travel to the Costa del Sol: https://www.ricksteves.com/europe/spain/costa-del-sol The Rock of Gibraltar stands like a fortress at the gateway to the Mediterranean. With its strategic setting, Gibraltar has an illustrious military history and remnants of its martial past are everywhere.

Gibraltar (/dʒɪˈbrÉ”Ë?ltÉ™(r)/; Spanish pronunciation: [xiβɾalˈtaɾ]) is a British Overseas Territory located at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula. It has an area of 6.7 km2 (2.6 sq mi) and is bordered to the north by Spain. The landscape is dominated by the Rock of Gibraltar at the foot of which is a densely populated town area, home to over 30,000 people, primarily Gibraltarians. It shares a maritime border with Morocco.
In 1704, Anglo-Dutch forces captured Gibraltar from Spain during the War of the Spanish Succession on behalf of the Habsburg claim to the Spanish throne. The territory was ceded to Great Britain in perpetuity under the Treaty of Utrecht in 1713. During World War II it was an important base for the Royal Navy as it controlled the entrance and exit to the Mediterranean Sea, which is only 8 miles (13 km) wide at this naval choke point. It remains strategically important, with half the world's seaborne trade passing through the strait. Today Gibraltar's economy is based largely on tourism, online gambling, financial services and cargo ship refueling.
The sovereignty of Gibraltar is a point of contention in Anglo-Spanish relations because Spain asserts a claim to the territory. Gibraltarians rejected proposals for Spanish sovereignty in a 1967 referendum and, in a 2002 referendum, the idea of shared sovereignty was also rejected. "

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will be the 21st FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial international football tournament contested by the men's national teams of the member associations of FIFA . It is scheduled to take place in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018, [2] after the country was
awarded the hosting rights on 2 December 2010.
This will be the first World Cup held in Europe since the 2006 tournament in Germany, and the first ever to be held in Eastern Europe . All of the stadium venues are in European Russia, to keep travel time manageable.
The final tournament will involve 32 national teams, which include 31 teams determined through qualifying competitions and the automatically qualified host team. Of the 32 teams, 20 will be making back-to-back appearances following the last tournament in
2014 , including defending champions Germany , while Iceland and Panama will both be making their first appearances at a FIFA World Cup. A total of 64 matches will be played in 12 venues located in 11 cities. The final will take place on 15 July at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. [3][4]
[5]
The winners of the World Cup will qualify for the
2021 FIFA Confederations Cup.

The bidding procedure to host the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups began in January 2009, and national associations had until 2 February 2009 to register their interest. [6] Initially, nine countries placed bids for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, but Mexico later withdrew from proceedings, [7] and Indonesia's bid was rejected by FIFA in February 2010 after the Indonesian government failed to submit a letter to support the bid. [8] During the bidding process, the three remaining non- UEFA nations (Australia, Japan, and the United States) gradually withdrew from the 2018 bids, and the UEFA nations were thus ruled out of the 2022 bid. As such, there were eventually four bids for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, two of which were joint bids: England, Russia, Netherlands/Belgium, and Portugal/Spain.
The twenty-two-member FIFA Executive Committee convened in Zürich on 2 December 2010 to vote to select the hosts of both tournaments. [9] Russia won the right to be the 2018 host in the second round of voting. The Portugal/Spain bid came second, and that from Belgium/Netherlands third. England's bid to host its second tournament fell at the first hurdle. [10]
The voting results were as follows: [11]
2018 FIFA bidding (majority 12 votes)
Bidders Votes
Round 1 Round 2
Russia 9 13
Portugal / Spain 7 7
Belgium / Netherlands 4 2
England 2 Eliminated
The process was not without criticism: allegations of bribery on the part of the Russian team and corruption from FIFA members were made particularly by the English Football Association . It was alleged that four members of the executive committee had requested bribes to vote for England, and Sepp Blatter said that it had already been arranged before the vote that Russia would win. [12] Although the 2014 Garcia Report absolved Russia of any blame, the FA refused to accept this, with Greg Dyke calling for a re-examination of the affair and David Bernstein calling for a boycott of the World Cup. Main article: 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification
For the first time in the history of the FIFA World Cup, all eligible nations – the 209 FIFA member associations minus automatically qualified hosts Russia – entered the qualifying process. [15]
Zimbabwe and Indonesia were later disqualified before playing their first matches, [16][17] while
Gibraltar and Kosovo , who joined FIFA on 13 May 2016 after the qualifying draw but before European qualifying had begun, also entered the competition. [18] Places in the tournament were allocated to continental confederations, with the allocation unchanged from the 2014 World Cup. [19][20] The first qualification game began in Dili , Timor Leste , on 12 March 2015 as part of the AFC's qualification, [21] and the main qualifying draw took place at the Konstantinovsky Palace in Strelna , Saint Petersburg on 25 July 2015 at 18:00 local time (UTC+3 ).[22][23][24][2]
Of the thirty-two nations qualified to play at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, twenty countries competed at the previous edition of the tournament in 2014 . Both Iceland and Panama qualified for the first time, with the former becoming the smallest country in terms of population to reach the World Cup.[25] Other teams returning after absences of at least three tournaments include: Egypt, returning to the finals after a 28-year absence fr

Map of the Mediterranean Sea
Coordinates 35°N 18°ECoordinates: 35°N 18°E
Type Sea
Primary inflows
Atlantic Ocean, Sea of Marmara, Nile, Ebro, Rhône, Chelif, Po
Basin countries
about 60
Surface area 2,500,000 km2 (970,000 sq mi)
Average depth 1,500 m (4,900 ft)
Max. depth 5,267 m (17,280 ft)
Water volume 3,750,000 km3 (900,000 cu mi)
Residence time 80–100 years[1]
Islands 3300+
Settlements Alexandria, Algiers, Athens, Barcelona, Beirut, Carthage, Dubrovnik, Istanbul, Ä°zmir, Rome, Split, Tangier, Tel Aviv, Tripoli, Tunis (full list)
The Mediterranean Sea is a sea connected to the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by the Mediterranean Basin and almost completely enclosed by land: on the north by Southern Europe and Anatolia, on the south by North Africa and on the east by the Levant. Although the sea is sometimes considered a part of the Atlantic Ocean, it is usually identified[by whom?] as a separate body of water. Geological evidence indicates that around 5.9 million years ago, the Mediterranean was cut off from the Atlantic and was partly or completely desiccated over a period of some 600,000 years, the Messinian salinity crisis, before being refilled by the Zanclean flood about 5.3 million years ago.
It covers an approximate area of 2.5 million km2[2] (965,000 sq mi), representing 0.7% of the global ocean surface, but its connection to the Atlantic via the Strait of Gibraltar — the narrow strait that connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea and separates Spain in Europe from Morocco in Africa — is only 14 km (8.7 mi) wide. In oceanography, it is sometimes called the Eurafrican Mediterranean Sea or the European Mediterranean Sea to distinguish it from mediterranean seas elsewhere.[3][4]
The Mediterranean Sea has an average depth of 1,500 m (4,900 ft) and the deepest recorded point is 5,267 m (17,280 ft) in the Calypso Deep in the Ionian Sea. The sea is bordered on the north by Europe, the east by Asia, and in the south by Africa. It is located between latitudes 30° and 46° N and longitudes 6° W and 36° E. Its west-east length, from the Strait of Gibraltar to the Gulf of Iskenderun, on the southwestern coast of Turkey, is approximately 4,000 km (2,500 miles). The sea's average north-south length, from Croatia's southern shore[5] to Libya, is approximately 800 km (500 miles).[citation needed]
The sea was an important route for merchants and travellers of ancient times, facilitating trade and cultural exchange between peoples of the region. The history of the Mediterranean region is crucial to understanding the origins and development of many modern societies.
The countries surrounding the Mediterranean in clockwise order are Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro,
Albania, Greece, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia,
Algeria, and Morocco; Malta and Cyprus are island countries in the sea. In addition, the Gaza Strip and the British Overseas Territories of Gibraltar and Akrotiri and Dhekelia have coastlines on the sea.

Wolfenstein is a series of World War II video games. It was originally created by Muse Software,[1] before being revived by id Software. The first two games in the series, Castle Wolfenstein and Beyond Castle Wolfenstein, were developed by Muse Software and focused on stealth-based gameplay from a top-down perspective. Beginning with id Software's Wolfenstein 3D, Wolfenstein games became fast-paced first-person shooters, and are widely regarded as having helped to popularize the first-person shooter genre. Further games in the series include Return to Castle Wolfenstein, developed by Gray Matter Interactive, Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory by Splash Damage, and 2009's Wolfenstein by Raven Software. After ZeniMax Media acquired id Software, including the Wolfenstein franchise, Swedish developer MachineGames became the series' primary developer. Wolfenstein games developed by MachineGames include Wolfenstein: The New Order, Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, and Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot.
The majority of the games follow William "B.J." Blazkowicz, a Jewish Polish-American Army Captain and his fight against the Axis powers. Earlier titles are centered around Nazis attempting to harness supernatural and occult forces. Those developed by MachineGames are set in an alternate history in which Axis powers won World War II.

International Space Station
A foreward view of the International Space Station backdropped by the limb of the Earth. In view are the station's four large, maroon-coloured solar array wings, two on either side of the station, mounted to a central truss structure. Further along the truss are six large, white radiators, three next to each pair of arrays. In between the solar arrays and radiators is a cluster of pressurised modules arranged in an elongated T shape, also attached to the truss. A set of blue solar arrays are mounted to the module at the aft end of the cluster.
The International Space Station (ISS) is a modular space station (habitable artificial satellite) in low Earth orbit. It is a multinational collaborative project involving five participating space agencies: NASA (United States), Roscosmos (Russia), JAXA (Japan), ESA (Europe), and CSA (Canada).[7][8] The ownership and use of the space station is established by intergovernmental treaties and agreements.[9] The station serves as a microgravity and space environment research laboratory in which scientific research is conducted in astrobiology, astronomy, meteorology, physics, and other fields.[10][11][12] The ISS is suited for testing the spacecraft systems and equipment required for possible future long-duration missions to the Moon and Mars.[13]
The ISS programme evolved from the Space Station Freedom, an American proposal which was conceived in 1984 to construct a permanently manned Earth-orbiting station,[14] and the contemporaneous Soviet/Russian Mir-2 proposal with similar aims. The ISS is the ninth space station to be inhabited by crews, following the Soviet and later Russian Salyut, Almaz, and Mir stations and the U.S. Skylab. It is the largest artificial object in space and the largest satellite in low Earth orbit, regularly visible to the naked eye from Earth's surface.[15][16] It maintains an orbit with an average altitude of 400 kilometres (250 mi) by means of reboost manoeuvres using the engines of the Zvezda Service Module or visiting spacecraft.[17] The ISS circles the Earth in roughly 93 minutes, completing 15.5 orbits per day.[18]
The station is divided into two sections: the Russian Orbital Segment (ROS) is operated by Russia, while the United States Orbital Segment (USOS) is run by the United States as well as many other nations. Roscosmos has endorsed the continued operation of ROS through 2024,[19] having previously proposed using elements of the segment to construct a new Russian space station called OPSEK.[20] The first ISS component was launched in 1998, and the first long-term residents arrived on 2 November 2000 after being launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on 31 October 2000.[21] The station has since been continuously occupied for 20 years and 125 days,[22] the longest continuous human presence in low Earth orbit, having surpassed the previous record of 9 years and 357 days held by the Mir space station. The latest major pressurised module, Leonardo, was fitted in 2011 and an experimental inflatable space habitat was added in 2016. Development and assembly of the station continues, with several major new Russian elements scheduled for launch starting in 2021. As of December 2018, the station is funded only until 2025 and may be de-orbited in 2030.[23]
The ISS consists of pressurised habitation modules, structural trusses, photovoltaic solar arrays, thermal radiators, docking ports, experiment bays and robotic arms. Major ISS modules have been launched by Russian Proton and Soyuz rockets and US Space Shuttles.[24] The station is serviced by a variety of visiting spacecraft: the Russian Soyuz and Progress, the SpaceX Dragon 2, the Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems Cygnus, the Japanese H-II Transfer Vehicle,[7] and, formerly, the European Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV). The Dragon spacecraft allows the return of pressurised cargo to Earth, which is used, for example, to repatriate scientific experiments for further analysis. As of November 2020, 242 astronauts, cosmonauts, and space tourists from 19 different nations have visited the space station, many of them multiple times; this includes 152 Americans, 49 Russians, 9 Japanese, 8 Canadians, and 5 Italians.[25]

Buried Alive: The Secret WWII Bunker Hidden Inside Gibraltar’s Rock
Operation TRACER: Six men, entombed in Gibraltars rock to spy on the Germans. During the Second World War, the British outpost of Gibraltar was the gateway to Mediterranean, and in early 1941 it looked to be the next in line for invasion by Axis forces. In the midst of a potential German takeover, a top secret plan codenamed TRACER was being developed to hide observers and spies within in the rock itself.

Scam: British Navy furious as Spain blame ROYAL NAVY for attack on their ship in Gibraltar
ROYAL NAVY ships have "clashed" with Spanish vessels three times in one week off Gibraltar.
Media reports allege that British boats were to blame for provoking encounters in the Bay of Gibraltar between February 2 and 4. Sources in Spain reported in news website Europa Sur claimed a vessel called Salvamar Denébola from sea rescue service Salvamento MarÃtimo went to the aid of sailing ship Spetes in seas off Gibraltar's southernmost point, Punta Europa, on February 2.
