My main target is generally tourists and turkish citizens that are visiting İstanbul. This video is for them to discover facts that are unknown about Moda district. Also this documentary sheds a light on our cultural assets that Moda displays. İn 2010 İstanbul was selected as Europe's capital of culture, this caused İstanbul to be a more popular city in terms of touristic activities. Being a host country for countless international organizations , İstanbul therefore Moda, attracted a lot more visitors which resulted in it's population to rise in a short time. Moda, with it's unique historical heritages and scenic beauties is one of the foremost neighbourhood in İstanbul. Moda attracts attention especially on the weekends and there is always a flow of families and tourists. Compared to the other areas, it is much more calm. It is suitable for fun and resting at the same time and because of that Moda has a delicate balance. My advise for everyone is for them to pay a visit whether if they are foreigners or not. The general idea is giving opinions to tourists about places where they can have a pleasant time. When I started this project I thought about the districts I like the most in İstanbul. Moda was the first place that crossed my mind. When I want to read a book and have a relaxing day my first stop is always Moda. I wanted the tourists to see what a wonderful place Moda is. Distant from the center of Kadıköy, close to the shore, different from the other parts of İstanbul, Moda is a place that you won't come across to tall buildings. It has a nostalgic architecture. An old circle of people who maintain a quiet life, have made this place their home. You can drink your tea under the trees of the tea garden and watch your children enjoying the playground near you at the same time. If you are a teenager or a young spirited person you can play tennis in the court, swim in the sea or swimming pool in "Moda Deniz Kulübü" and take part in different activities at night. At first we met at the tea garden to discuss the places we wanted to shoot. After recording the Moda Park, Moda Pier and Barış Manço's house we had a great lunch in Kırıntı then, enjoyed some of Ali Usta's famous ice cream. We fed the pigeons. After the shooting, I had some help from a friend of mine to make the images more appealing to the eye, the editing part was a lot of fun. I am not a cameraman or a guide but I tried to put something together with what I have learned so far. I think I tried my best to capture what I thought tourists would enjoy. I think this video can give everyone an idea about Moda and can ensure them to visit this place.
