The Nashville Sounds are a minor league baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL) and the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. They are located in Nashville, Tennessee, and are named for the city's association with the music industry. The team plays its home games at First Tennessee Park which opened in 2015 and is partially located on the former site of the historic Sulphur Dell ballpark. The Sounds previously played at Herschel Greer Stadium from its opening in 1978 until the end of the 2014 season.
Established as a Double-A team of the Southern League in 1978, the Sounds were replaced by a Triple-A American Association team in 1985. The Triple-A Sounds carried on the history of the Double-A team that preceded it. The Sounds later joined the PCL in 1998. The team has served as a farm club for seven major league franchises. A total of 26 managers have led the club and its more than 1,100 players. As of the completion of the 2015 season, the team has played in 5,445 regular season games and compiled a win–loss record of 2,794–2,651 (.513).
First Tennessee Park is a minor league baseball park in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. The home of the Triple-A Nashville Sounds of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), it opened on April 17, 2015, and can seat up to 10,000 people. It replaced the Sounds' former home, Herschel Greer Stadium, where the team played from its founding in 1978 until 2014.
The park was built on the site of the former Sulphur Dell, a minor league ballpark in use from 1870 to 1963. It is located between Third and Fifth Avenues on the east and west (home plate, the pitcher's mound, and second base are directly in line with Fourth Avenue to the stadium's north and south), and between Junior Gilliam Way and Harrison Street on the north and south. It is near Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park and is adjacent to the future location of a new Tennessee State Museum. The Nashville skyline can be seen from the stadium to the south.
The design of the park incorporates Nashville's musical and baseball heritage and the use of imagery inspired by country music, Sulphur Dell, and Nashville's former baseball players and teams. Its most distinctive feature is its guitar-shaped scoreboard—a successor to the original guitar scoreboard at Greer Stadium. The ballpark's wide concourse wraps entirely around the stadium and provides 360-degree views of the field. Once the greenway section is completed, it will connect with two other greenways in the city.
First Tennessee, part of the First Horizon National Corporation, is a financial services company based in Memphis, Tennessee. First Tennessee provides financial services through more than 180 locations in and around Tennessee. The company was founded during the Civil War in 1864 and has the 14th oldest national bank charter in the country.
Frank Davis, a businessman from Ohio, came to Memphis to open the first federally chartered bank in Memphis. Though the city was under martial law after being captured by Union forces in the Civil War, First National Bank was officially chartered for business on March 25, 1864.
The bank survived the war, but other disasters followed. When the 1878 yellow fever epidemic swept over Memphis, killing thousands and forcing most of the remaining citizens to flee, First National Bank’s doors remained open to help distribute relief funds.
Despite floods, recessions, the Great Depression, and wars, the bank grew from a modest local bank in the shadows of the Mississippi River to a thriving regional financial service company with locations across the state.
Nashville is the capital of the U.S. state of Tennessee and the county seat of Davidson County. Nashville is the second largest city in Tennessee, after Memphis, and is the fourth largest city in the Southeastern United States. It is located on the Cumberland River in the north-central part of the state. The city is a center for the music, healthcare, publishing, banking and transportation industries, and is home to numerous colleges and universities. Reflecting the city's position in state government, Nashville is home to the Tennessee Supreme Court's courthouse for Middle Tennessee. It is known as a center of the music industry, earning it the nickname "Music City".
Since 1963, Nashville has had a consolidated city-county government which includes six smaller municipalities in a two-tier system. Thirty-five of 40 members are elected from single-member districts; five are elected at-large. According to 2013 estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau, the total consolidated city-county population stood at 659,042. The "balance" consolidated population, which excludes the semi-independent municipalities and is the figure listed in most demographic sources and national rankings, was 634,464. The 2013 population of the entire 13-county Nashville metropolitan area was 1,757,912, making it the largest metropolitan statistical area in the state. The 2013 population of the Nashville-Davidson–Murfreesboro–Columbia combined statistical area, a larger trade area, was 1,876,933.
In physics, sound is a vibration that propagates as a typically audible mechanical wave of pressure and displacement, through a medium such as air or water. In physiology and psychology, sound is the reception of such waves and their perception by the brain.
Acoustics is the interdisciplinary science that deals with the study of mechanical waves in gases, liquids, and solids including vibration, sound, ultrasound, and infrasound. A scientist who works in the field of acoustics is an acoustician, while someone working in the field of acoustical engineering may be called an acoustical engineer. An audio engineer, on the other hand is concerned with the recording, manipulation, mixing, and reproduction of sound.
Applications of acoustics are found in almost all aspects of modern society, subdisciplines include aeroacoustics, audio signal processing, architectural acoustics, bioacoustics, electro-acoustics, environmental noise, musical acoustics, noise control, psychoacoustics, speech, ultrasound, underwater acoustics, and vibration.

Nashville is the state capitol of Tennessee with a population of just over 650,000 people which is relatively small in comparison with other cities in the US. The city itself stradles the Cumberland River, which goes on to join the Mississippi River in Memphis. Nashville is famous throughout the world has being a place where musicians and music fans gravitate hence the nickname "Music City", other than music Nashville is also a large rail hub as it is the confluence of different national railroads within the US. The video is a composite of 3 days worth of footage taken while I was in Nashville a.k.a Music City while attending a conference- given the fact that for two of the days I was in the conference center, I felt this was best way of portraying life around Nashville and certainly Broa...

Take a trip downtown with me in Nashville, Tennessee. We visit a few bars and listen to some good bands. Saw a probable drug deal right in front of me. The same dealer approached me later as we were leaving the parking lot but was quickly advised to move along. Got to see the famous bar Coyote Ugly but due to the time of day it was kinda dead. The next day we attended the Guns-N-Roses Concert which was awesome! This was recorded in July 2016.

On May 31, 2015 The Nashville Public Library’s music series That Nashville Sound presented Ralph Emery’s Nashville Now. In 1983 on The Nashville Network, Nashville Now aired its pilot episode from Opryland USA. Many would argue that the show changed the course of country music during its 10-year run, providing a platform that helped launch the careers of some of country music’s biggest stars. In the downtown Library main auditorium Nashville Now host and Country Music Hall of Fame® member Ralph Emery guided attendees through an afternoon of memories. Thanks to the Country Music Hall of Fame® and Museum, NPL was able to access the video vaults of the original broadcast. Mr. Emery was joined by guests who made regular appearances on the show including, Con Hunley, Ray Stevens, Lori Mor...
