B Borooah college braces for high science cut-offs
TNN | Jun 19, 2016, 08.45 AM ISTGuwahati: B Borooah College has received 3,000 applications for 460 BSc seats this year. Admission to BSc courses will be held on June 21.
"We expect that the chemistry-major course will record the highest cut-off. After seeing the admission rush, we can say there will be competition for major courses in physics and zoology as well," SN Barman, principal of B Borooah College, said on Saturday.
While many colleges have received more applications for arts courses than BSc, B Borooah is an exception. The college has received around 2,500 admission forms for 460 BA seats, which is less than the number of BSc application forms it has received.
"We are among the colleges offering the best science education. In the chemistry-major course, the cut-off is likely to go beyond 85%. In physics and zoology, it is likely to cross 80%," said a member of the college admission committee.
While admission to BA courses will be held on June 22, that to BBA and BSc-IT will be held on June 27.
