This came from the boot wrongly listed as Miami ‘68. Carefully remastered fixing many problems without added EQ. Plus the missing first from KRW_CO source, also remastered, and EQ’d to match the rest.

I learned a lot about this band thru this tape. Ron Wood playing bass with a real rhythm guitar sound in some songs. I did some reading about Ron on a bass player forum while researching the keys for some songs and one thing they really respect about him is he rarely played something the same way twice. While the quality on this recording is stunning overall, I would say this is not the absolute best Jeff Beck Group performance of the era.
They make some mistakes and some of the performances don’t gel or are not as explosive as others around of the same vintage. “Jeff´s Boogie” is a bit scattered. The band seems a bit put off by how unresponsive & quiet the audience is. One comment from the band is that it’s like playing in a library. HOWEVER… Jeff’s making a lot of strange, experimental guitar noises, seemingly more than usual, though I suspect they are just much more noticeable here than other shows due to the clear sound.
I would say this rates near the very top of the “must-hear” JBG shows of ‘68/69, as it is so painless to listen to andso possible to discern what’s going on. Many of the other recordings I have (the Tea Party comes to mind right away) are so distorted, that it is quite hard to get a clear picture of the experience. This is a very cool recording, the Jeff Beck Group in 1968, live, with Rod & Ron & the quality more than makes up for any lack of performance intensity in my opinion, and, even on a bad day, the smoke was risin’ off the stage.

Russell William Wood - Tow Truck Driver of DFW Recovery Specialists LLC and his blatant trespassing on private property and illegal non-authorized means & access of entering a locked gated card-access only complex....
On Sept. 11, 2013 at 2:40am, the tow truck driver, Russell Wood of DFW Recovery Specialists LLC (Permit # TDLR0006466681001CT) illegally gained access to the gated by card access only apartment complex of Sun Colony Apartments located at 10075Royal Lane, Dallas, Texas. The tow truck driver gained entry in the complex by using a large piece of metal (looked like a street sign off a pole) and throwing the piece of metal under the gate to the opposite side sensor pad to trigger the gate to open due to the gate security module assuming that there was a vehicle that was needing to leave the property. The tow truck driver then proceeded to drive into the complex and pick up the large piece of metal and drive through the complex. The tow truck driver, Russell William Wood (DFW RECOVERY SPECIALISTS LLC) does not have permission by the Sun Colony Apartment management to come onto the private property and most certainly does not have permission to access the property by circumventing the gate access security system. The tow truck driver of DFW RECOVERY SPECIALISTS LLC was seen (and RECORDED VIA VIDEO CAMERA on one access attempt) not only ONCE but THREE times entering the property of Sun Colony Apartments using this illegal and unauthorized method to bypass the three access gates the property has to keep the complex's residents safe and secure.
In addition, the tow truck driver of DFW RECOVERY SPECIALISTS LLC entered the property through a ONE WAY EXIT-ONLY access gate using the illegal and unauthorized method of throwing a metal sheet (a street sign) to trigger the gate access security system. The tow truck driver of DFW RECOVERY SPECIALIST LLC illegally and without permission gained access to the gated community of Sun Colony Apartments and during one of the attempts to access the complex he failed to trigger the gate. The video that was recorded was sent via email as an attachment for documentation and evidence for the complaint filed...
In the video, it can be seen that the tow truck driver, Russell William Wood proceeds to CLIMB OVER THE FENCE via the Card Access Entry Pole (which is not a step or a ladder and a very expensive card reader to replace) to retrieve his metal sign that he threw inside the locked gate area to trigger the gate to open.
In addition, as can be seen in the video, the tow truck driver, Russell William Wood knows what he is doing is wrong and his method of access this locked gated complex is illegal by the hesitation in his behavior once he realizes that gate is not going to open.
Also, by listening to the video - the NOISE that was created by him throwing this metal plate on the ground is HORRENDOUS and actually woke up three residents in the building next to the gate in which they witnessed this behavior by the tow truck driver, Russell William Wood of DFW RECOVERY SPECIALIST, LLC.
***THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS TOW TRUCK DRIVER OF DFW RECOVERY SPECIALIST LLC HAS GAINED ACCESS USING THE ILLEGAL MEANS OF TRIGGERING THE GATES SENSOR PAD TO ENTER THE PRIVATE PROPERTY OF SUN COLONY APARTMENTS***
This tow truck driver obviously does not care about following laws and procedures for lawful towing and for lawful entry into private property of locked gate card access only
apartment complexes (obvious by him ignoring the fact that someone was watching him AND RECORDING HIS ACTIONS!!)
It seems that this tow truck company - DFW RECOVERY SPECIALISTS LLC has no regards to the laws and policies that they must adhere to be a legal licensed tow truck company in the state of Texas.
MOST IMPORTANTLY - the lack of respect and decency displayed by the tow truck driver, Russell William Wood of DFW RECOVERY SPECIALIST LLC was quite obvious by the loud noise disturbance he made each and every time (three times) he accessed the property and speeding off the property (as shown in the video) when he realized he
got caught!!
Please help in getting this illegal access through inappropriate means stopped and please contact the Texas Dept of Licensing & Regulation (https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/complaints/ComplaintForm.aspx?strRadiobutton=Vehicle%20Towing) and have towing companies such as this towing company be properly disciplined for such blatant disregards to the laws and codes that it agreed to when getting a license to operate in the state of Texas.

Can anyone believe this kit is 40yrs old ??? 1974 DALLAS ARBITER ICEBERG SERIES !!! My favourite drum kit. Its hard to set up, its hard to keep clean, its very fragile, but gave my drumming a new lease of life. I love you Haymans. Can be heard beautifully recorded on my 25 min solo "BIG CASH BONUS" on CD STANDBACK .....PREPARE TO BE AMAZED. It did take 6 weeks of rubbing , 120 grit wetn'dry up to 2000 grit to get the scratches out inside & out. Then Mcguires hand polish. In its life , the drums had been stored in each other. I froze my shoulder with the rubbing cause the plexi glass doesn't like heat that machines create. They actually sound better than the Ludwigs or Fibes, they have really thick shells. Actually Vista-lite was first built by Ginger Baker, rolling sheets of it over a barrels with heat, he made the first kit, rough as it was. He told me that personally ! WHY DO WE DO IT? ITS A DEEP PRIMAL URGE IN ALL US DRUMMERS, TO BEAT OUT THE RHYTHM THAT SEEMS TO COME UP FROM THE EARTH THROUGH OUR BODIES INTO OUR HANDS AND FINGERS. THEN COMES THE IRRISTABLE URGE TO START TAPPING. LIKE ELECTRICAL MORSE CODE. ONLY WE DRUMMERS KNOW THIS SENSATION. LATER COMES THE DESIRE TO CONTROL THESE IMPULSES AND PUT THEM INTO SOME FORM OF SELF EXPRESSION, USUALLY AT THE DILEMMA AND IRRITATION OF ALL THOSE AROUND US. Dallas (

This came from the boot wrongly listed as Miami ‘68. Carefully remastered fixing many problems without added EQ. Plus the missing first from KRW_CO source, also remastered, and EQ’d to match the rest. kneesfudd’s notes: I learned a lot about this band thru this tape. Ron Wood playing bass with a real rhythm guitar sound in some songs. I did some reading about Ron on a bass player forum while researching the keys for some songs and one thing they really respect about him is he rarely played something the same way twice. While the quality on this recording is stunning overall, I would say this is not the absolute best Jeff Beck Group performance of the era. They make some mistakes and some of the performances don’t gel or are not as explosive as others around of the same vintage. “Jeff´s Boogie” is a bit scattered. The band seems a bit put off by how unresponsive & quiet the audience is. One comment from the band is that it’s like playing in a library. HOWEVER… Jeff’s making a lot of strange, experimental guitar noises, seemingly more than usual, though I suspect they are just much more noticeable here than other shows due to the clear sound. I would say this rates near the very top of the “must-hear” JBG shows of ‘68/69, as it is so painless to listen to andso possible to discern what’s going on. Many of the other recordings I have (the Tea Party comes to mind right away) are so distorted, that it is quite hard to get a clear picture of the experience. This is a very cool recording, the Jeff Beck Group in 1968, live, with Rod & Ron & the quality more than makes up for any lack of performance intensity in my opinion, and, even on a bad day, the smoke was risin’ off the stage. -

Russell William Wood - Tow Truck Driver of DFW Recovery Specialists LLC and his blatant trespassing on private property and illegal non-authorized means & access of entering a locked gated card-access only complex.... On Sept. 11, 2013 at 2:40am, the tow truck driver, Russell Wood of DFW Recovery Specialists LLC (Permit # TDLR0006466681001CT) illegally gained access to the gated by card access only apartment complex of Sun Colony Apartments located at 10075Royal Lane, Dallas, Texas. The tow truck driver gained entry in the complex by using a large piece of metal (looked like a street sign off a pole) and throwing the piece of metal under the gate to the opposite side sensor pad to trigger the gate to open due to the gate security module assuming that there was a vehicle that was needing to leave the property. The tow truck driver then proceeded to drive into the complex and pick up the large piece of metal and drive through the complex. The tow truck driver, Russell William Wood (DFW RECOVERY SPECIALISTS LLC) does not have permission by the Sun Colony Apartment management to come onto the private property and most certainly does not have permission to access the property by circumventing the gate access security system. The tow truck driver of DFW RECOVERY SPECIALISTS LLC was seen (and RECORDED VIA VIDEO CAMERA on one access attempt) not only ONCE but THREE times entering the property of Sun Colony Apartments using this illegal and unauthorized method to bypass the three access gates the property has to keep the complex's residents safe and secure. In addition, the tow truck driver of DFW RECOVERY SPECIALISTS LLC entered the property through a ONE WAY EXIT-ONLY access gate using the illegal and unauthorized method of throwing a metal sheet (a street sign) to trigger the gate access security system. The tow truck driver of DFW RECOVERY SPECIALIST LLC illegally and without permission gained access to the gated community of Sun Colony Apartments and during one of the attempts to access the complex he failed to trigger the gate. The video that was recorded was sent via email as an attachment for documentation and evidence for the complaint filed... In the video, it can be seen that the tow truck driver, Russell William Wood proceeds to CLIMB OVER THE FENCE via the Card Access Entry Pole (which is not a step or a ladder and a very expensive card reader to replace) to retrieve his metal sign that he threw inside the locked gate area to trigger the gate to open. In addition, as can be seen in the video, the tow truck driver, Russell William Wood knows what he is doing is wrong and his method of access this locked gated complex is illegal by the hesitation in his behavior once he realizes that gate is not going to open. Also, by listening to the video - the NOISE that was created by him throwing this metal plate on the ground is HORRENDOUS and actually woke up three residents in the building next to the gate in which they witnessed this behavior by the tow truck driver, Russell William Wood of DFW RECOVERY SPECIALIST, LLC. ***THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS TOW TRUCK DRIVER OF DFW RECOVERY SPECIALIST LLC HAS GAINED ACCESS USING THE ILLEGAL MEANS OF TRIGGERING THE GATES SENSOR PAD TO ENTER THE PRIVATE PROPERTY OF SUN COLONY APARTMENTS*** This tow truck driver obviously does not care about following laws and procedures for lawful towing and for lawful entry into private property of locked gate card access only apartment complexes (obvious by him ignoring the fact that someone was watching him AND RECORDING HIS ACTIONS!!) It seems that this tow truck company - DFW RECOVERY SPECIALISTS LLC has no regards to the laws and policies that they must adhere to be a legal licensed tow truck company in the state of Texas. MOST IMPORTANTLY - the lack of respect and decency displayed by the tow truck driver, Russell William Wood of DFW RECOVERY SPECIALIST LLC was quite obvious by the loud noise disturbance he made each and every time (three times) he accessed the property and speeding off the property (as shown in the video) when he realized he got caught!! Please help in getting this illegal access through inappropriate means stopped and please contact the Texas Dept of Licensing & Regulation (https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/complaints/ComplaintForm.aspx?strRadiobutton=Vehicle%20Towing) and have towing companies such as this towing company be properly disciplined for such blatant disregards to the laws and codes that it agreed to when getting a license to operate in the state of Texas. Can anyone believe this kit is 40yrs old ??? 1974 DALLAS ARBITER ICEBERG SERIES !!! My favourite drum kit. Its hard to set up, its hard to keep clean, its very fragile, but gave my drumming a new lease of life. I love you Haymans. Can be heard beautifully recorded on my 25 min solo "BIG CASH BONUS" on CD STANDBACK .....PREPARE TO BE AMAZED. It did take 6 weeks of rubbing , 120 grit wetn'dry up to 2000 grit to get the scratches out inside & out. Then Mcguires hand polish. In its life , the drums had been stored in each other. I froze my shoulder with the rubbing cause the plexi glass doesn't like heat that machines create. They actually sound better than the Ludwigs or Fibes, they have really thick shells. Actually Vista-lite was first built by Ginger Baker, rolling sheets of it over a barrels with heat, he made the first kit, rough as it was. He told me that personally ! WHY DO WE DO IT? ITS A DEEP PRIMAL URGE IN ALL US DRUMMERS, TO BEAT OUT THE RHYTHM THAT SEEMS TO COME UP FROM THE EARTH THROUGH OUR BODIES INTO OUR HANDS AND FINGERS. THEN COMES THE IRRISTABLE URGE TO START TAPPING. LIKE ELECTRICAL MORSE CODE. ONLY WE DRUMMERS KNOW THIS SENSATION. LATER COMES THE DESIRE TO CONTROL THESE IMPULSES AND PUT THEM INTO SOME FORM OF SELF EXPRESSION, USUALLY AT THE DILEMMA AND IRRITATION OF ALL THOSE AROUND US. Can anyone believe this kit is 40yrs old ??? 1974 DALLAS ARBITER ICEBERG SERIES !!! My favourite drum kit. Its hard to set up, its hard to keep clean, its very fragile, but gave my drumming a new lease of life. I love you Haymans. Can be heard beautifully recorded on my 25 min solo "BIG CASH BONUS" on CD STANDBACK .....PREPARE TO BE AMAZED. It did take 6 weeks of rubbing , 120 grit wetn'dry up to 2000 grit to get the scratches out inside & out. Then Mcguires hand polish. In its life , the drums had been stored in each other. I froze my shoulder with the rubbing cause the plexi glass doesn't like heat that machines create. They actually sound better than the Ludwigs or Fibes, they have really thick shells. I learned a lot about this band thru this tape. Ron Wood playing bass with a real rhythm guitar sound in some songs. I did some reading about Ron on a bass player forum while researching the keys for some songs and one thing they really respect about him is he rarely played something the same way twice. While the quality on this recording is stunning overall, I would say this is not the absolute best Jeff Beck Group performance of the era.
They make some mistakes and some of the performances don’t gel or are not as explosive as others around of the same vintage. “Jeff´s Boogie” is a bit scattered. The band seems a bit put off by how unresponsive & quiet the audience is. One comment from the band is that it’s like playing in a library. HOWEVER… Jeff’s making a lot of strange, experimental guitar noises, seemingly more than usual, though I suspect they are just much more noticeable here than other shows due to the clear sound.
I would say this rates near the very top of the “must-hear” JBG shows of ‘68/69, as it is so painless to listen to andso possible to discern what’s going on. Many of the other recordings I have (the Tea Party comes to mind right away) are so distorted, that it is quite hard to get a clear picture of the experience. This is a very cool recording, the Jeff Beck Group in 1968, live, with Rod & Ron & the quality more than makes up for any lack of performance intensity in my opinion, and, even on a bad day, the smoke was risin’ off the stage.

On Sept. 11, 2013 at 2:40am, the tow truck driver, Russell Wood of DFW Recovery Specialists LLC (Permit # TDLR0006466681001CT) illegally gained access to the gated by card access only apartment complex of Sun Colony Apartments located at 10075Royal Lane, Dallas, Texas. The tow truck driver gained entry in the complex by using a large piece of metal (looked like a street sign off a pole) and throwing the piece of metal under the gate to the opposite side sensor pad to trigger the gate to open due to the gate security module assuming that there was a vehicle that was needing to leave the property. The tow truck driver then proceeded to drive into the complex and pick up the large piece of metal and drive through the complex. The tow truck driver, Russell William Wood (DFW RECOVERY SPECIALISTS LLC) does not have permission by the Sun Colony Apartment management to come onto the private property and most certainly does not have permission to access the property by circumventing the gate access security system. The tow truck driver of DFW RECOVERY SPECIALISTS LLC was seen (and RECORDED VIA VIDEO CAMERA on one access attempt) not only ONCE but THREE times entering the property of Sun Colony Apartments using this illegal and unauthorized method to bypass the three access gates the property has to keep the complex's residents safe and secure.
In addition, the tow truck driver of DFW RECOVERY SPECIALISTS LLC entered the property through a ONE WAY EXIT-ONLY access gate using the illegal and unauthorized method of throwing a metal sheet (a street sign) to trigger the gate access security system. The tow truck driver of DFW RECOVERY SPECIALIST LLC illegally and without permission gained access to the gated community of Sun Colony Apartments and during one of the attempts to access the complex he failed to trigger the gate. The video that was recorded was sent via email as an attachment for documentation and evidence for the complaint filed...
In the video, it can be seen that the tow truck driver, Russell William Wood proceeds to CLIMB OVER THE FENCE via the Card Access Entry Pole (which is not a step or a ladder and a very expensive card reader to replace) to retrieve his metal sign that he threw inside the locked gate area to trigger the gate to open.
In addition, as can be seen in the video, the tow truck driver, Russell William Wood knows what he is doing is wrong and his method of access this locked gated complex is illegal by the hesitation in his behavior once he realizes that gate is not going to open.

Russell William Wood - Tow Truck Driver of DFW Recovery Specialists LLC and his blatant trespassing on private property and illegal non-authorized means & access of entering a locked gated card-access only complex....
On Sept. 11, 2013 at 2:40am, the tow truck driver, Russell Wood of DFW Recovery Specialists LLC (Permit # TDLR0006466681001CT) illegally gained access to the gated by card access only apartment complex of Sun Colony Apartments located at 10075Royal Lane, Dallas, Texas. The tow truck driver gained entry in the complex by using a large piece of metal (looked like a street sign off a pole) and throwing the piece of metal under the gate to the opposite side sensor pad to trigger the gate to open due to the gate security module assuming that there was a vehicle that was needing to leave the property. The tow truck driver then proceeded to drive into the complex and pick up the large piece of metal and drive through the complex. The tow truck driver, Russell William Wood (DFW RECOVERY SPECIALISTS LLC) does not have permission by the Sun Colony Apartment management to come onto the private property and most certainly does not have permission to access the property by circumventing the gate access security system. The tow truck driver of DFW RECOVERY SPECIALISTS LLC was seen (and RECORDED VIA VIDEO CAMERA on one access attempt) not only ONCE but THREE times entering the property of Sun Colony Apartments using this illegal and unauthorized method to bypass the three access gates the property has to keep the complex's residents safe and secure.
In addition, the tow truck driver of DFW RECOVERY SPECIALISTS LLC entered the property through a ONE WAY EXIT-ONLY access gate using the illegal and unauthorized method of throwing a metal sheet (a street sign) to trigger the gate access security system. The tow truck driver of DFW RECOVERY SPECIALIST LLC illegally and without permission gained access to the gated community of Sun Colony Apartments and during one of the attempts to access the complex he failed to trigger the gate. The video that was recorded was sent via email as an attachment for documentation and evidence for the complaint filed...
In the video, it can be seen that the tow truck driver, Russell William Wood proceeds to CLIMB OVER THE FENCE via the Card Access Entry Pole (which is not a step or a ladder and a very expensive card reader to replace) to retrieve his metal sign that he threw inside the locked gate area to trigger the gate to open.
In addition, as can be seen in the video, the tow truck driver, Russell William Wood knows what he is doing is wrong and his method of access this locked gated complex is illegal by the hesitation in his behavior once he realizes that gate is not going to open.

Can anyone believe this kit is 40yrs old ??? 1974 DALLAS ARBITER ICEBERG SERIES !!! My favourite drum kit. Its hard to set up, its hard to keep clean, its very fragile, but gave my drumming a new lease of life. I love you Haymans. Can be heard beautifully recorded on my 25 min solo "BIG CASH BONUS" on CD STANDBACK .....PREPARE TO BE AMAZED. It did take 6 weeks of rubbing , 120 grit wetn'dry up to 2000 grit to get the scratches out inside & out. Then Mcguires hand polish. In its life , the drums had been stored in each other. I froze my shoulder with the rubbing cause the plexi glass doesn't like heat that machines create. They actually sound better than the Ludwigs or Fibes, they have really thick shells. Actually Vista-lite was first built by Ginger Baker, rolling sheets of it over a barrels with heat, he made the first kit, rough as it was. He told me that personally ! WHY DO WE DO IT? ITS A DEEP PRIMAL URGE IN ALL US DRUMMERS, TO BEAT OUT THE RHYTHM THAT SEEMS TO COME UP FROM THE EARTH THROUGH OUR BODIES INTO OUR HANDS AND FINGERS. THEN COMES THE IRRISTABLE URGE TO START TAPPING. LIKE ELECTRICAL MORSE CODE. ONLY WE DRUMMERS KNOW THIS SENSATION. LATER COMES THE DESIRE TO CONTROL THESE IMPULSES AND PUT THEM INTO SOME FORM OF SELF EXPRESSION, USUALLY AT THE DILEMMA AND IRRITATION OF ALL THOSE AROUND US. Thriving at the bottom edge of America's Great Plains, Dallas has embraced dreamers and entrepreneurs for the better part of two centuries. Big D, as it's affectionately called, merges Southern hospitality with modern sophistication. Though the landscape looks different than at its humble beginning, the city still welcomes enterprising people who gather to share their grand ideas and stake claims on new frontiers.
Dallas will always be remembered for one, if not two, shootings. The first and most shocking occurred on 22 November 1963, when President J F Kennedy was assassinated in downtown Dallas. The second shooting may only have been fictional but, when J R Ewing was shot by an unknown killer in the TV series Dallas in the early 1980s, fans across the world were devastated. Even today, the legend of J R remains strong, as does the legacy of President Kennedy.
Today the city is a mecca for the banking, electronics and oil industries, as well as for dining, shopping, arts and entertainment. Large scale developments of urban lofts, apartments, condominiums, retail and both indoor and outdoor recreational facilities are springing up across the city. An impressive new Dallas Center for the Performing Arts opened in 2009 to vie with New York's Lincoln Center. New facilities and relevant attractions in and around this cultural centre continue to grow.
Among things you probably didn't know about Dallas: The city has the largest urban arts district in the United States spanning 19 blocks. What's more, the Dallas Arts District has more buildings designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects in one contiguous location than anywhere else in the world. And Dallas' Fair Park, just a short distance east of the arts district and a district with numerous museums and venues, features the nation's largest collection of 1930s Art Deco, exposition-style architecture.
Dallas offers true Southern hospitality, be it in a humble hideaway cocktail bar or in the Mansion on Turtle Creek, repeatedly and regularly ranked as one of the world's top hotels. And with a 10th of its workforce in the hospitality industry, Dallas is always happy to have y'all come on in and stick around awhile.
Those wishing to explore further afield should take the busy freeway 30 miles to the west to the easy-going, cattle-driving, twin city of Fort Worth, home to a national historic district and a surprising stash of world-class art museums.
The similarities between the two include a stunning rate of business and population growth, in spite of a sluggish recent economy; a shared passion for the pro sports teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, whose new billion-dollar stadium is now in Tarrant County instead of Dallas; and a great pride in being Texan.

Dallas is a young city with all the vigour of youth. Effigies of modern architecture rise like glass trees out of the downtown area. In 1841, it was simply a plan of 20 streets on the 256 hectares (640 acres) of south central America, claimed by a Tennessee lawyer, John Neely Bryan. Today, it is the ninth largest city in the USA, and including its western neighbour of Fort Worth, it is the nation's fastest growing metropolitan area.
Thriving at the bottom edge of America's Great Plains, Dallas has embraced dreamers and entrepreneurs for the better part of two centuries. Big D, as it's affectionately called, merges Southern hospitality with modern sophistication. Though the landscape looks different than at its humble beginning, the city still welcomes enterprising people who gather to share their grand ideas and stake claims on new frontiers.
Dallas will always be remembered for one, if not two, shootings. The first and most shocking occurred on 22 November 1963, when President J F Kennedy was assassinated in downtown Dallas. The second shooting may only have been fictional but, when J R Ewing was shot by an unknown killer in the TV series Dallas in the early 1980s, fans across the world were devastated. Even today, the legend of J R remains strong, as does the legacy of President Kennedy.
Today the city is a mecca for the banking, electronics and oil industries, as well as for dining, shopping, arts and entertainment. Large scale developments of urban lofts, apartments, condominiums, retail and both indoor and outdoor recreational facilities are springing up across the city. An impressive new Dallas Center for the Performing Arts opened in 2009 to vie with New York's Lincoln Center. New facilities and relevant attractions in and around this cultural centre continue to grow.
Among things you probably didn't know about Dallas: The city has the largest urban arts district in the United States spanning 19 blocks. What's more, the Dallas Arts District has more buildings designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects in one contiguous location than anywhere else in the world. And Dallas' Fair Park, just a short distance east of the arts district and a district with numerous museums and venues, features the nation's largest collection of 1930s Art Deco, exposition-style architecture.
Dallas offers true Southern hospitality, be it in a humble hideaway cocktail bar or in the Mansion on Turtle Creek, repeatedly and regularly ranked as one of the world's top hotels. And with a 10th of its workforce in the hospitality industry, Dallas is always happy to have y'all come on in and stick around awhile.
Those wishing to explore further afield should take the busy freeway 30 miles to the west to the easy-going, cattle-driving, twin city of Fort Worth, home to a national historic district and a surprising stash of world-class art museums.
The similarities between the two include a stunning rate of business and population growth, in spite of a sluggish recent economy; a shared passion for the pro sports teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, whose new billion-dollar stadium is now in Tarrant County instead of Dallas; and a great pride in being Texan.

8:45 - My review of Polskibus. Easy to buy, and you don't even have to print the ticket - just show them the e-mail with the reservation number. Free WiFi is spotty though. Cheaper than the train, and usually just as fast, unless you're going from one end of Poland to the other.
10:24 - For border runs, I prefer stamps in my passport, but I know guys who are fine with out-of-country hotel receipts.
11:05 - Do you feel less pressure to travel during the summer since you live in a summer tourist destination - Gdansk? Yes. I did consider Lublin, but my guess is during summer it doesn't get DTF beach tourists.
14:20 - How is Curitiba during the summer? It's not a summer tourist destination. The beach towns are 3-4 hours away and get packed, from Dec 20 to Carnival, while Curitiba empties out. He does pick up the few remaining girls by noting that though. He missed Carnival, which he regrets. I also agree with forum member bojangles in that if a place empties, the remaining girls will be bored and more DTF.
16:50 - Winters in Gdansk - the sun will be gone by 15:30. But in summer the sun will set accordingly later. In Curitiba it's Fall, and the sun will be gone by 17:00. That'll be the case until October.
19:02 - My favorite Polish cities? If I didn't like Gdansk, I'd try Bialystok - wrote about it on the forum. Torun seems good, but is small, and seems touristy. Would I go back to Ukraine? Yes, NomadofEU's in Kiev, but I'd try Lviv since my Polish might be useful there. Would also like to check out Chisinau.

He might even start a family down there one day - the first time he'd ever considered it. To live the best life down there though, you need to make money - the infrastructure isn't as good as in Europe. As a result, he has become more selfish.
28:29 - Brosemite also notes that his friends in the US are mostly interested in maintaining the status quo. I remember my friend who came back from Southeast Asia saying it was like folks in the US had been frozen in time since he'd left, since they obviously hadn't grown as much as he had.

2:51 - Brosemite also notes that it's more expensive to get around within Latin America than it is in Europe. I note that that's why almost nobody on the forum country-hops within Latin America. Brosemite notes going from Colombia to Argentina is probably more expensive than going from New York to Argentina (!), although there are some deals with low-cost carriers like Azul. Dec 20 to Carnival is high travel season, and thus expensive. July is also expensive due to school winter break.

8:45 - My review of Polskibus. Easy to buy, and you don't even have to print the ticket - just show them the e-mail with the reservation number. Free WiFi is spotty though. Cheaper than the train, and usually just as fast, unless you're going from one end of Poland to the other.
10:24 - For border runs, I prefer stamps in my passport, but I know guys who are fine with out-of-country hotel receipts.
11:05 - Do you feel less pressure to travel during the summer since you live in a summer tourist destination - Gdansk? Yes. I did consider Lublin, but my guess is during summer it doesn't get DTF beach tourists.
14:20 - How is Curitiba during the summer? It's not a summer tourist destination. The beach towns are 3-4 hours away and get packed, from Dec 20 to Carnival, while Curitiba empties out. He does pick up the few remaining girls by noting that though. He missed Carnival, which he regrets. I also agree with forum member bojangles in that if a place empties, the remaining girls will be bored and more DTF.
16:50 - Winters in Gdansk - the sun will be gone by 15:30. But in summer the sun will set accordingly later. In Curitiba it's Fall, and the sun will be gone by 17:00. That'll be the case until October.
19:02 - My favorite Polish cities? If I didn't like Gdansk, I'd try Bialystok - wrote about it on the forum. Torun seems good, but is small, and seems touristy. Would I go back to Ukraine? Yes, NomadofEU's in Kiev, but I'd try Lviv since my Polish might be useful there. Would also like to check out Chisinau.

27:06 - How has living abroad change Brosemite? In Curitiba, he likes the down-to-earth people and traditional family values. He might even start a family down there one day - the first time he'd ever considered it. To live the best life down there though, you need to make money - the infrastructure isn't as good as in Europe. As a result, he has become more selfish.
28:29 - Brosemite also notes that his friends in the US are mostly interested in maintaining the status quo. I remember my friend who came back from Southeast Asia saying it was like folks in the US had been frozen in time since he'd left, since they obviously hadn't grown as much as he had.

This lecture is from an undergraduate psychology course I offer each fall at the University of Mississippi. This particular lecture was filmed in November, 2013. The course is called "Abnormal Psychology" and by convention, it focuses on a fairly disease-oriented view of mental health. My own version of this course is not conventional.
I am a very practical guy. I want students to walk away from my classes with some very specific ideas about psychological struggles and some of the things we know that make them worse and make them better. I myself have a long and deep history of depression and addiction to drugs and alcohol. I have been in recovery since 1985. I suspect I carry vulnerabilities to psychological struggles. There are significant difficulties of this sort in my family history. My take away on these vulnerabilities is that I need to take very, very good care of myself to moderate this risk. This lecture is derived from a set of practices that I use to optimize my recovery and wellbeing. We are seeing an epidemic of "lifestyle disorders." In the so-called first world, and increasingly, the whole world. What kills us is no longer infections, malnutrition, lack of sanitary food, and potable water.
We die from the way we live. We die of cardiovascular disease, stroke, pulmonary illness, obesity, diabetes, and a huge range of stress related illnesses. We sleep too little, exercise too little, sit too much, eat too much (and mostly the wrong stuff), and we stress out....way way out.
The deck is stacked against us. The entire culture seems to encourage us to compare and evaluate ourselves against crazy standards. Huge industries spend billions of dollars to encourage us to eat, drink, smoke, and otherwise behave in ways that are killing us.
There are no loony bits of advice in here. Some of the conclusions drawn about optimal living are suggested from the study of animal models of illness. Not everything in mouse models prove out in human testing. However, things like "eat lots of vegetables" and "get enough sleep" do not seem likely to cause anyone any harm and seem pretty likely to help.
In this lecture, I explore what mental illness looks like viewed through the lens of lifestyle and stress related illness. In the video, I suggest 7 practices people can engage in to optimize wellbeing.
The core message I want students to take away from the lecture is that we do not have to wait. There is a ton of evidence that even small changes in lifestyle can have an impact on both physical and mental wellbeing.
At the end of the lecture, I show students a YouTube video that has gone insanely viral. The video is of Arthur Boorman's transformation from a life of disability into a life of magnificent recovery. Arthur is a veteran of the 1990-1991 Gulf War. The video of his transformation has had over 10 million hits! I do not think I have ever watched the video without coming to tears. Arthur, if you see this, you are an inspiration to us all. Arthur began his program of recovery with Dallas Diamond at DDP Yoga. There are actually TWO known audience recordings of this show. Until recently, most Sabbath collectors (myself included) believed that the various versions of this tape were different generations of the same source. After comparing two different versions a bit more carefully, Lars Bernstroem determined that these were in fact completely different sources. Source 1 contains a good bit of talking near the recording, none of which can be heard on the second source! Good ears, Lars!
After much debate and research, I have decided to rule out Glassboro, NJ (or Philadelphia) 10/30/70 as a possible source for these tapes. They have long been traded with this date and the claim that these recordings were from Sabbath's 1st U.S. show. In fact, these tapes are from the tail end of Sabbath's 2nd American tour for PARANOID. They opened for Mountain and Humble Pie at The Spectrum in Philadelphia on April 2nd, 1971 at a show billed as the "Mountain Dance Concert". This explains the shortened set list as well.
Mike Lindenauer pointed out that one of the sources was recorded by a male & female taper team. This couple also recorded Mountain and Humble Pie that night. Upon examination of those tapes, Mike & his sources were able to pin this one down to the 4/2/71 date once and for all! They do indeed appear to have been recording by the same tapers on the same evening.
Both sources are very good audience recordings. There are a few minor cuts, but I think it unlikely that any complete songs are missing. On one source, the taper does a fairly good job, but we can hear them slapping the microphone around in a few sections. The sound is slightly distant, but clear. As is the case on many Sabbath boots, the vocals and guitars are most prominent in the mix. Running time is just under 50 minutes. Source 2 has a good deal more talking near the microphones.
Tony begins the show with his trademark blitzkrieg guitar solo, before slamming into a much heavier than usual rendition of "N.I.B.". This is due to the fact that he and Geezer are tuned down to D, which is something new for the band. During the 1970 shows, they seem to hover between standard tuning and E flat. There were several reasons for the "down tuning". One was that lower pitch suited Ozzy's range a bit better. Secondly, Iommi mentioned that the reduced tension in his guitar strings from the down tuning didn't tear up his fingers as badly. And undoubtedly, it just sounded HEAVIER! Sabbath continued to tune down to D (and even Csharp) for their next few albums, but began raising the pitch again on TECHNICAL ECSTASY and NEVER SAY DIE.
The crowd seems to like what they are hearing, but they aren't quite as warm and gregarious as some of the European audiences that the band was accustomed to. There are many very quiet pauses between the songs and the audience seems to be scrutinizing the band a bit more. They do clap along during "War Pigs" and even reward Iommi with a nice applause after his overlong solo (which gets a bit repetitive in places with the finger picked bits), but they are oddly quiet at other times.
While the first numbers show the band off to a strong start, they lose momentum at the beginning of the 3rd song, "Black Sabbath". As Tony begins his mellow finger picked intro for the song, he almost immediately breaks a string! It takes quite a while for him to replace the string and Ozzy apologizes a few times for the delay. At this point, the taper cuts off the recorder so we don't know exactly how long they waited.
