Xiaomi is one of the biggest smart phone manufacturers in the world! But... do they design a solid phone? They are well known for their high end components, but low prices. After watching this video, you'll understand a bit more about how they keep their prices so low.
During this video I will scratch the phone with different picks. Each pick has a different material on the tip, that will allow us to find out where the screen falls on Mohs Scale of Hardness. Since this phone has Gorilla Glass 4... it should be predictable on this device.
I will also burn the screen, and finally do the bend test. Which is the ultimate test of durability. Stepping on your phone... sitting on your phone... Keeping your phone in your pants pocket... all of those actions can put stress on your phone causing it to bend or break.
IF Xiaomi wants to send me a Mi5 Pro to test, I will happily do so, (unbiased.) but I probably wont buy another one. I always fund my own videos, and this hobby is getting expensive.

The phone has been launched India for INR 24,999 (32 GB Variant) in April 2016. We will try to upload more video once the device is officially available in India.
Xiaomi Mi 5 comes with a 5.15 inch full HD sunlight adaptive display and it is powered by Snapdragon 820 processor along with 3GB RAM and 32/64 GB storage.
The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow along with MIUI 7 and it has a 3000 mAh battery which supports fast charging. It has a 3D curved glass body which makes it easy to hold.
Xiaomi Mi5 packs a 16 megapixel back camera with OIS, PDAF and dual tone led flash. It also has a 4 megapixel front facing camera with 2 micro pixel size for better quality selfies.
The phone comes with USB Type C charging, 4G and has a fingerprint sensor. The Mi 5 pro launched along with Xiaomi Mi5 has 4 GB RAM, 128 GB storage and ceramic body.
Both Xiaomi Mi5 and Mi 5 pro will be available from 1st march in China and later in other countries.

Xiaomi is one of the biggest smart phone manufacturers in the world! But... do they design a solid phone? They are well known for their high end components, but low prices. After watching this video, you'll understand a bit more about how they keep their prices so low.
During this video I will scratch the phone with different picks. Each pick has a different material on the tip, that will allow us to find out where the screen falls on Mohs Scale of Hardness. Since this phone has Gorilla Glass 4... it should be predictable on this device.
I will also burn the screen, and finally do the bend test. Which is the ultimate test of durability. Stepping on your phone... sitting on your phone... Keeping your phone in your pants pocket... all of those actions can put stress on your phone causing it to bend or break.
IF Xiaomi wants to send me a Mi5 Pro to test, I will happily do so, (unbiased.) but I probably wont buy another one. I always fund my own videos, and this hobby is getting expensive.

The phone has been launched India for INR 24,999 (32 GB Variant) in April 2016. We will try to upload more video once the device is officially available in India.
Xiaomi Mi 5 comes with a 5.15 inch full HD sunlight adaptive display and it is powered by Snapdragon 820 processor along with 3GB RAM and 32/64 GB storage.
The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow along with MIUI 7 and it has a 3000 mAh battery which supports fast charging. It has a 3D curved glass body which makes it easy to hold.
Xiaomi Mi5 packs a 16 megapixel back camera with OIS, PDAF and dual tone led flash. It also has a 4 megapixel front facing camera with 2 micro pixel size for better quality selfies.
The phone comes with USB Type C charging, 4G and has a fingerprint sensor. The Mi 5 pro launched along with Xiaomi Mi5 has 4 GB RAM, 128 GB storage and ceramic body.
Both Xiaomi Mi5 and Mi 5 pro will be available from 1st march in China and later in other countries.

That's a loss of 12%, which isn't quite as good as the 9% the Xiaomi Mi5 and the LG G5 lost in the same test, but is a smidgen better than the Galaxy S7 which lost 13%, and a lot better than the iPhone 6S Plus which lost 22% ... It does not hit the high notes achieved by something like the Galaxy S7 Edge, but compared with something in its price range, like the Xiaomi Mi5, it's perfectly respectable....
